We have a prerecorded intercom at Rock Bridge High School, meaning you dial the number, select where you want to page (all classrooms or hallways only) say your announcement (60 second time limit). Once you hang up, the system processes the file and then broadcasts. Anyhow, one of our secretaries sometimes forgets to hang up the phone, and she plays music in her office, so we hear her music going for about 50 seconds after her announcement (which is usually asking someone to report to her office or a classroom). That cracks everyone up!
A similar thing happens in our school, except it goes directly to the speaker. Music plays when somebody accidentally presses the hold key after a page. It happens moderately often.
My elementary school (and, I believe, all the others in the district) used 1:13 as the main bell. The intercom/paging tone was the same frequency as the main bell heard in this video, but it was shorter and played two times. Also, what caused that buzzing at 0:50? It almost sounded like a fire alarm.
Well, Select Amtrak Stations, such as Stepford Central, Tailsland Valley Union Station, and Chaseville Condor Street Station, have automated voice announcements, usually by Samantha, the Vyond Voice, Charleston, SC, has that voice, too. Signed, Angela.
My school uses the tone at 0:44 for the main bell except it only beeps three times and uses the tone at 1:14 for the one minute warning bell except it’s shorter and beeps twice
