they focus on developing language skills, common in countries like Germany or China. It's sad to see that english speakers barely speak a second language language.
@@wilmeraderbertflorezlopez6991 they think English is the best language just because of how popular their culture are. They think the world revolves around them that's why.
My friends and I ran into Louis (Jonas) and Moritz (Magnus) at a burger joint in Berlin. At first we didn't recognize them because they were so chill, just ordering their burgers and chatting. But then maybe they caught us looking at them and smiled back. We went over and said we're fans of their work and the show. They were the nicest people ever. They asked us where we're from, what are we doing here, how do we find Germany etc. Also agreed to get a photo with us.
I actually thought when martha and jonas appeared on the screen thats how they cause the accident that makes tanhouse built the time machine oh man just imagine how that would turn out
@@ajmalks6298 not only you bro... because of the nature of the series many people suspected it at that point. But it wouldn't be a good ending for such a great show
[SPOILER] No dude for a show like DARK which is known for its complexity and mindfucking story the ending is way too simple Not trying to hate, DARK is the best show ever in my eyes I would have loved to see Jonas and Martha becoming a part of the Origin World and the timeline after 8th Nov 1971 in the Origin world getting destroyed rather than getting changed to accommodate Jonas and Martha in the origin world That would have been an epic ending
@@GilieVerIsle haha kaya nga eh international kasi sya kaya mejo mahirap mabigyan ng pansin pero alam yan ng netflix na madami fans ng dark eh tignan nila ang reviews nangununa lagi ang dark sa originals ng netflix
I love how everyone is pointing out how good his English is, most Europeans speak 2 or 3 languages, I just recently realized most Americans only speak English... crazy
I would imagine that it is because (I'm only guessing here) you have the UK, France, Italy, and germany right next to each other with a variety of languages. You're bound to pick up a second or third language because of it. In the US case. The closer to the mexico/us border, I would assume you would pick up some spanish or be decent to have a basic conversation. From the border upwards, it's more and more english speakers.
@@MyDearestKafka Native German here 🙋🏻♂️ I grew up with Turkish parents which meant that I spoke mostly Turkish. In Kindergarten and School I had to learn German. Then English and even later France. Which meant that I could speak 4 Languages at one time. But now France pretty much disappeared out of my vocabulary because I no longer have any French Lessons. Pretty hard to keep track of many words in different languages
@@MyDearestKafka not necessarily. I'm Moroccan. I'm not surrounded by English speaking people and I still acquired English, French and Arabic. I'm learning German now 😁. It depends on your motivation as to why you want to learn a language.
He is actually shading the showrunners just like some of GOT cast did. They went out of material and decided to wrap it up quickly to do star wars movies. Good news they got fired after their pitiful job on game of thrones.
grai These showrunners should really have a whole complete story planned out. The reason Dark is great is because they had the story set up before they began filming. The same can be said about Breaking Bad. A complete and ready story will almost always be better than a story that’s made on the way
@@grai that is true. the guys who did that show wanted less episodes and 4 to 5 seasons, but it was the tv network that wanted multiple seasons. so they had to abide.
louis deserves an Emmy, he was just so brilliant in the Dark plus his english and the accent *im dying* i hope we get to see him in some english shows in the future
@@costa71 that's my 2. Favourite after Dark... It's good but dark is just different but I get why a lot of people have breaking bad and no1. Dark isn't really made for everyone.
Mayto Montañez Breaking Bad is such a good Show, and i think it’s on another point at the same level, because they are with different Styles. Dark is a Show which was never there before - not with such a complexity.
I'm German, too, so I actually do know about the the high standard of English in our society and education but thanks for the explanation anyway. That doesn't mean that we can't appreciate a nice English accent from a German guy tho :D
9:06 this phenomenon happened because this show formed a community. Exactly like how Louis Hoffman said, we all fight for this show to expand to other people. Shows like Casa de papel, 13 reasons why and Riverdale only have an audience that watches the show and after they only speak about it among themselves. But this phenomenon that dark pulled off is very rare and I'm nothing but proud to be part of this community and to be fighting for this show to expand in popularity. (Very sorry for bad English, i'm not a native speaker so I hope that I managed to prove my point)
Hats off to the writers and show runners. They could have easily made this a money churning series with another 4-5 seasons but they didnt compromise. This show is the gold standard of SCI FI series and truly transcends time. It will last for eternity. #JonasMartha
This show is a perfect example of how a television series should be executed. It has a complex and beautiful plot, an amazing cast and the creators knew when to end it. They didn’t drag it out and the ending was beyond perfect. Dark is my favorite show of all time, I hope I see the cast members in other projects in the future!!
I haven't seen any interviews this guy has done before, but I jut can't understand the logic behind asking that at that time. Seemed really strangely timed and phrased.
I mean.. GOT fucked the ending, Dark went on a calculated direction since the beginning and that's why everything makes sense, go watch la the last season, imo ended in a very satisfying manner
What a masterpiece of an Ending. Also great interview. I'm german and so proud of the creative thought that went into this show. Also the fantastic cast and acting, writing, directing, everyone.
Dark was an extraordinary masterpiece, I loved all 3 seasons! The complexity in the storylines and family trees was astounding. The cinematography, sets, costumes and filming in the forests and countryside in autumn was also hauntingly beautiful! The acting was also fantastic and everyone involved in the production did such an amazing job! I’ll remember it as one of the best and most special shows I’ve seen and have recommended it to my friends to watch. What’s more, the interviews with Louis Hoffman and Lisa Vicari show what truly humble and genuinely nice people they are, legends! To everyone involved in Dark, all credit to you, absolutely brilliant! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
He's right in saying that if you're a fan or you like the show, you fight for someone else to watch it as well. I've been talking about this show to my friends and trying to convince them to watch it too. What a masterpiece 👏🏼👏🏼
Wow this is my first time hearing Louis speak English. I could easily see him playing a British character in a British movie. :) I could have sworn at some moments he looks like a blonde Hugh Grant!
He is definitely speaking with a British accent. And he is good at it. Very fluent, clear and the pronunciation excellent. He was such an amazing actor in Dark.
He has a British accent during British interviews and an American one in US ones. A sign of a good actor; being able to change accent in another language and not just your own!
He's very much right when he said that fans are fighting for the show to make other people watch it! Coz I'm like that too! This masterpiece should never go to waste!
Louis and the cast are so talented, this was my first experience watching a german production, it even inspired me to start learning the language. Hope to see more of them in the future! All the best from Brazil :)
This show is an exceptional example from Germany. I was very surprised cause I usually dont like German style TV shows. I dont think there will come much more in this quality from Germany Haha. Greetings from Berlin 😋
Dark is a great series. Finished all 3 seasons in a week. Wow, Louis said his greatest strength as an actor is the sensitive scenes and it really shows. His character of Jonas is my favorite character. By season 3, I was a little annoyed at the other Martha....she seemed too unstable. Louis' English is so good. Hopefully, he gets more roles and can cross over beyond German films too.
European cinematography is doing just fine! These days Hollywood should focus on getting its shit together! Kudos to Netflix though for giving a platform to foreign tv shows!
Lol.. if you know what you were asking for, you wouldn't say that. Why would you want him to be corrupted by Hollywood? Do you not know what is happening with Ellen, Oprah, Will Ferrel, Tom Hanks, Jimmy kimmel and more?
Yes it was a cut there, you can see it. But also in many cultures "How are you? / How are you doing?" are just formal forms of greetings, you are not supposed to answer. It always makes a weird beginning of a conversation when cultures clashes and these questions get answered :D :D
Being so fluent in english I hope we will be seeing him in many Hollywood feature films from now on....I hope because he really is a great young actor (as well as the rest of the Dark cast). Best show I've seen in many many years.
God bless you Louis and all the people in the show. This is one of the best series I've seen... Great job! I hope the best for you and your partners... So many hugs from Spain!
I remember when this show came out and seeing it randomly scrolling thru netflix.... best decision made ever and Im glad now people know about it cause it deserves all the attention and it did since season one.
This was one of - if not - the best series I have ever watched. I don't know where to start from. The writing, the dialogues, the individual performances, the atmosphere, the cast to actually look like the older/younger selves, the closure-catharsis it offered when it ended. That was insane.
Dark is one of the best TV series ever made IMO. Amazing atmosphere, casting, and soundtrack. The narrative is complex but the ending ties everything together so beautifully. Great job to everyone involved!
@@yaseen2273 He probably has or had a teacher who studied in Britain. Our teacher did as well, and she spoke in a very British way. Still had a thick German accent tho.
Great actor and great TV series! Hope he has a good career! PS: You speak English so well that it looks British. I envy and admire countries that best teach foreign languages. In my country (Italy) it is a shame that the school does not teach languages.
Cant tell you how much i love this tv series and im so grateful for everyone involved in this grand masterpiece of a show. The cinematography, music, and characters were so good
