This video about architect Louis Sullivan's impact on Chicago was created for the installation "Past Forward: Architecture and Design at the Art Institute." Now on view: www.artic.edu/exhibition/past-...
Yes we could bring them back but the current trend is futurism, modern and minimalism, people should ask for it, make it a trend again. Right now most want modern.
Thank you again for such a Thoughtful piece on Mr Sullivan...his Work luves on, though so many pieces were destroyed, shamefully, by Mayor Daley and his Ruthless Cohorts...dgp/uk
A bit religious in its approach, perhaps, but a brief, beautifully photographed look at some of Sullivan's work, with succinct, expert commentary by the one-and-only Tim Samuelson, the city's leading architectural expert.
Ya because they're all taught the same trash post-modern styles and told to forget the older, more traditional styles... Louis Sullivan, while not an entirely traditional architect, is more traditional nowadays than he is modern. Even his skyscraper designs were based on the 3 parts of a Greek column, which is rarely done today with modern skyscrapers.
@@Blackrew wow, compared you say my opinion is the ONLY one who is not trash, just the other way around.. may you stop calling something trash, which is 5 steps ahead of you.
