Luna rossa should keep an eye on what to improve as team US is a couple of seconds away from victory.....a little trivia: after more than 30 years of record unbeaten....a new record has been set today with the smallest gap between first and second as former record holder was "moro di Venezia" aganist America cube with a 3 seconds gap, now it's luna rossa against american magic...again an italian team Vs an american team

You’re right, AM put up an excellent fight today and with Goodison’s experience life could had been even tougher. But it is what it is, from my prospective, LR just wanted to cover them till the finish line.

@@paolozampieri2691 I hope that too....being defensive might be the way... but I am starting to think the team is a bit tired...I've heard somewhere else that in term of workforce (i.e. number of cyclons available) Luna rossa is inferior both to american magic and to Ineos (which seems to be the real deal at the moment)....having substitutes pays off on mid term....even Bruni seems tired

@@lenkleodani I agree but so far crew swaps have affected just the cyclors, none of the helmsmen bar Goodie which had not options, really. Would had made sense to throw the youngsters in the mix during the preliminary regattas, just to give them some taste of blood. Tricky to do it now, for all syndicates.

I know there is a long way to go, but Luna Rossa hit 50km/h in that race. If they get through, could go all the way I reckon. A real threat with Spittal at the helm too. Beware ETNZ please.

can the older commentator please, please stop saying « Alinghi Red Bull Racing » when it is « Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli »? He has made the same error several times in several races. There are only two boats in each race. Thank you

They may as well be remote control. Where’s the live crew action, the hoisting of the spinnakers, men scrambling about on deck. The boat are a marvel but this isn’t sailing

For most people, these boats are way more exciting to watch than sailing ancient designs with 10-15kn, which looks like slow motion these days. I get your point but for the spectator, this is way more thrilling.

Even if they were still racing monohulls, all that would be now done with servos and hydraulic jacks, so stop whining. At least this takes place closer to shore and it’s quick paced even in 7 kts breeze. The AC would be long dead with regattas lasting 2 hrs+.
