While a college student in the 80s I worked at Saks because...I needed that 30% employee discount to subsidize my shopping habbit. When a unique LV bag arrived to the store ~~ I put it "in the back" and waited for my pay check. (Ahhh...those were fun times!!!) I actually built a nice collection of LV monogram bags and the Papillon was a style that I instantly adored and purchased. I still carry it today, wearing it crossbody using a long strap from another LV bag. Congrats on your purchase! Great choice! Enjoy!

I was able to purchase a papillon 19 from a Japanese seller on eBay for $350! It was very used and dirty but I spent a few days cleaning up the leather, canvas, zipper and hardware and I’m OBSESSED! It’s my hands down favorite piece I’ve ever owned! I’m 25 and I love vintage pieces that not many people today have. I compared my papillon 19 that was made in 2003 to my moms LV eva clutch (2015) and my god the canvas and quality was night and day. I love vintage LV and would rather buy that and clean it up because of the quality.

NIGHT and DAY, right?! After dipping back into Vintage LV, it's hard for me to want new LV. I recently looked at the Diane in store and the canvas felt SO cheap smh. This is such a cute bag. You are so right the quality of the canvas back in the day compared to today is so apparent. I have a bag I purchased in 2012 and everytime I use it I say the same thing. The canvas is so thick and hardy compared to my newer bags. You got a really good deal 🙌🏾🙌🏾

I have the size 30 for over 20 years. It is still in mint condition but I didn’t use it often bc it is a “hand” bag. I bought a black “guitar” strap from LV last year and all of a sudden, I got a “new” crossbody bag 😊. I felt the strap was a great purchase as it gave new lives to my other bags as well. The strap costs more than how much I spent on the bag….. lol

I recent got a vintage bag. The style is no longer production and I do love it. One question, do you do anything specific when you get a vintage bag to kind of refresh it. Mine kinda feels like it’s been in a dust bag for 7 years 😆
