Fraser Henderson On my Ranch in Natchitoches, Louisiana about 70 miles south of Shreveport the frogs are safe here other than their natural predators same as the deer I don't hunt them or allow others to hunt them Now I've got some very fat Fox squirrels that do tend to get wasted here on the place for they destroy my pecan crop which in turn make prices go up. And I have some Bull Frogs that will make those look like tadpoles.

Actually Mr Fraser, while the Lithobates catesbeianus (better known as the American bullfrog) population does not create a negative affect on the environment, we do have an increase in population around our area. With the increase in numbers this is quickly becoming a nuisance and invasive species in our area. The increase in population pushes them to other areas and little known fact about a bullfrog is that it will eat anything smaller than itself. So if you think about it we are helping to save many other animals by a very small amount of management of the population. Outside of those facts we are only taking the minimum amount to provide ourselves with sustenance. We do not keep any in the freezer or waste any. We simply take what we need to eat that day. So we are very considerate of frogs and nature in general and treat everything God has blessed us with and made us responsible of with respect. Dustin hey Dustin one of the reasons I don't catch them is I don't eat them and plus there is so many of our state bugs ( mosquitoes ) flying around here that they can't even keep up. Louisiana cross country races should be a combo of dirt, log climbing, log crossing and there has got to be in the mix some Swamp mudding Lol
