My grandma's perfume ❤ She adopted it as soon as it was released. I was "stealing" some from her when i was a kid in the morning before school when i was living with her, but it lasts so long that at the end of the day, she knew I had dipped in 😊 I just ordered a bottle for the pleasure of smelling it and transport myself to the past.❤
Lou lou was my first signature scent back in 1990 when I left school. The reformulated version is very sharp- and there's no longevity to it. For me the jasmine and vanilla were the notes that stuck with me and I sought in other fragrances. Amd nowadays I reach for Dior Addict or D&G The Only One Intense if I'm hankering for Lou Lou because they have the powdery sweetness and jasmine and not the disappointing astringent note :) x
Adoring you and your review of this ICON - Queen of the Fragrances . I remember LouLous launch and those bottles stopped traffic and personally I love love the color and bottle . You are Great !
I've been wearing LouLou every day for the past two weeks. Longest I've ever been in a frag. I was a kid/teen in the 80s-90s that was never into perfumes, so I don't have the nose to compare the original to the reformulation (the one I currently own). I just know that it's perfect for my chemistry and that it makes me feel like a bad, dirty woman. It's the _Devil_ card in the Tarot deck. It's the triumphant smile when you know you have him under your spell. It's not for self proclaimed good or nice women.
I wore this on my wedding day to my first husband! I have to say I still love it even though my love for the first husband went away! Love cacheral fragrances!
Veronica! You gave it away??!! Well we all can't like everything. The pre reformulation is better I think. Its a bit sweeter powdery. I'm a good sales person, but only what I love!
Love it 💕 Beautiful review of this Diva Lou Lou. This was my Era, purchased a few bottles of this back in the day. My nan always loved it on me so I bought her a bottle too. She would also call me lou lou. 😊 Think I need to repurchase a vintage for the memory.
Just ordered this and I am beyond excited! I have noticed I enjoy more vintagey fragrances and your videos are amazing for exactly that.💞 I hope someday I can be even a smidge as classy and evocative as you!
I remember the iconic turquoise blue bottles very well, but I don't remember what it smells like Gabi! I even like that little 30ml bottle. It reminds me a bit of an Egyptian obelisk. Wonderful review! So much fun, and you really sold this fragrance! Makes me want to sample it! Thanks so much! Lisa
You know I love our perfume chats! And I have to say that I LOVE your sweater (you call them jumpers). I loved hearing about this diva scent. You can sing to me ANY TIME. Love you, my scent sister!
Loulou was one of my first real brand fragrances I wore it in 1988/89. A masterpiece. Unfortunately, the reformulation failed, only the top notes are identical. And unfortunately, it doesn't last anymore. Very, very unfortunate. You're subscribed, I like your channel a lot, my good❤😊
I love LouLou so much! I never linked it to Poison, and you're so right - same DNA. I am glad you find the new version OK. So do I!. Thank you for sharing your insights with us.
What a great review! I have a wish list of 80's perfumes, but Lou Lou was not on it, because of its ugly bottle, I guess. This week I had the chance to test it out in store and I absolutely loved it! It does look vintage, but I don't find it to be retro and Grandma style at all. It's persistent and it definitely dries into a lovely spicy vanilla. Moreover, I think it dares to defy the new linear and rather boring trends.
New subscriber. I went to my favorite perfume shop and got a small bottle based on your review. Our weather is too hot at the moment to try it, but I’m glad to have it. While I was there, I found a small bottle of Paloma Picasso Tentation. What a day! Thank you 😊 My teenage 80’s signature was Avon Odyssey.
Oh, how I loved the smell of this: a girl I knew who took the same city bus to our high school used to wear this, and as soon as she walked onto the bus everyone knew she was there! You've probably tried the Yes I Am original, and I'm wondering, did you get the same little "whiff" of the original LouLou just for a fleeting moment in the opening of Yes I Am?
Eat a lovely scent memory. I hope she was a nice person! You know I've tried Yes I am and I didn't like it. I do love one of the flankers though I think it's the purple one. 💜
I too think the bottle is unique. She looks like the individual she is among all the prissy glass bottles in my collection. The opaque bottle probably preserves the intoxicating juice inside.
You are so hilarious 🤣🤣 Mostly the faces you make 🤣 So my only fragrance for the longest time was Chanel #5 and I still long for it because it doesn’t smell the same. I have a modern EDP, an ‘80’s EDC which has slightly turned but it’s still good and a ‘60’s parfum. Or maybe I have changed. But I feel the gorgeous drydown isn’t as gorgeous anymore😭
Lou Lou was the one Cacherel that I couldn’t get along with, I got it as a gift back in the 90’s and I remember it being so strong, I preferred Anais Anais as that was really popular. I wonder if I smelt it again now whether I would like it or not 💙💙💙
Hiya Gabrielle (always loved your name), my scent twin! My list keeps growing, stop it! NO please don’t stop, I’m psychotic & need a vintage bottle of this😂 & all the other amazing scents you review! I still have *nearly* all of my 80s perfumes & you’ll see my psychosis when I mention them… Fracas (started in 70s never stopped), Poison (multiple bottles all about ½ full😵💫), Coco, Paris, White Shoulders, & I’m too🥱 to climb the stairs to see what else. However something to consider is that even sweet frags turn into beasts w/ my body chemistry. It takes only one “dark, heady” note, really freaky but kind of fun! Found a bottle very inexpensive of Cabotine so tomorrow I’ll try that! Love that song (you sang it lovely!), Louise Brooks, now LouLou! Have a lovely weekend! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️
@@thefragrantician - I honestly think we’re related as I’ve not come across anything you review I don’t like! XXX J. 😘🧡 PS totally forgot about Cabotine as I only got a few hours sleep. Tomorrow for sure!
I still have an original bottle of this in my closet. Every once in a while I take the cap off, spray a tiny bit and put it right back in the closet! Lol it’s like a toxic relationship, I love it but I can’t exist with it on a daily basis. But I couldn’t let it get away from me. One fragrance that I did like get away from me was one that I found in a little mall in Picadilly Circus in London in 1995 called Sfera. I misplaced the bottle in years past and can’t even find online where it ever existed!! Any London RU-vidrs remember that one? Let me know if it’s still available for purchase over there! Also Mellow Musk from Boots. Thank you 😊
I have read very intriguing reviews about that one … we used to have that in our website… but now that I want to try it… because i am PSYCHOTIC 😂… it is now unavailable 😔
