I'm using loupedeck, streamdeck, X-touch, and a custom made midi slider - I'd love more conversations about different control systems - portability, ease of use and setup, using MIDI versus software/USB interfaces. This is a great video and I love the common sense breakdown that you started with about interfaces as you seem to have a lot of experience with them.

Great informative video! Usually review opinions feel fake, but you just demolished that feeling with a description and opinion so eloquent!

It's good to adapt existing hardware to what you need to do. For instance, I use a Corsair gaming keyboard with Studio One. The keyboard software is super customisable so I've been able to map the most used keyboard shortcuts to the Corsair and it's sped up my workflow immensely and allowed me to get away from relying on the mouse
@LonelyRocker
@LonelyRocker 3 года назад
That's an interesting solution. thanks for sharing!
@spiralmoment

what can you do that you can't with any other keyboard?
@stupidusername38
@stupidusername38 Год назад
@@spiralmoment I can map complex keyboard shortcuts to a key. Example, let's say I have a command on a normal keyboard that is CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+E. With the software I can map it to a key so that simply pressing, say the E key and it will fire off that command. The Corsair software is pretty flexible in what it can do.

Great video thanks. I'm a VJ and coder I am about to do a series on how to write a plugin to connect to my own custom VJ software to the loupedeck CT.

Hi, Great video, but the light cycle, makes me a bit dizzy.....maybe do a very slow transition, its distracting!

I use lemur on my iPad to launch plugs and many other things, but it's also great for moving around the studio wireless. Unfortunately lemur is gone but there's several others and they also work on your phone. if you're not using it for the knobs, might as well get a 20$ app. The loupedeck is really cool with the knobs though, I wonder if they feel nice and if you can pull them off and put on some rogans or whatever?
@LonelyRocker
@LonelyRocker Год назад
Haven’t tried to pull them off but they are nice to have in combination with the touch screen.

I wonder if you can extend Loupdeck's functionality as a home automation/control device? I know its main purpose is likely a convenient way to control your computer software.
@LonelyRocker
@LonelyRocker 3 года назад
As long as the software is in a computer it may actually be possible on some level.

Are those knobs assignable? I’d love to be able to use it to control a compressor while I keep my mixer knobs for mixing only.
@LonelyRocker
@LonelyRocker Год назад
Technically they are but the mapping, while not hard to figure out seems limited to the core functions of software. I could be wrong but it doesn't seem to reach into plugins...Unless someone knew deep editing for these...but I never got that deep....

I just wish it was mechanical buttons rather than a touch screen, I would buy it in a heartbeat
@LonelyRocker
@LonelyRocker 2 года назад
It wouldn’t be nearly as flexible. The fact it has physical buttons and dials AND a touch screen is what makes it so versatile.

Is it possible to assign basic function to buttons like stereo-mono audio out switch as on audio interface?
@LonelyRocker
@LonelyRocker 2 года назад
If the software has a function it can be mapped to the Loupedeck.

Im wondering if you are still using your Loupedeck. Im looking at picking one up. Any thoughts after a year with the device. Its a bit more exp than the stream deck but looks better for setting up so stuff in logic like opening up plugins and so on... Thanks Again
@LonelyRocker
@LonelyRocker 2 года назад
It's still on my desk. It's definitely a handy device. I don't use it a lot to be honest but I really have no complaints about it. If you need that sort of thing it looks great and can be a useful tool...

Bro thanks for the great video! Can you control the mouse wheel via turning a control knob - like say moving the mouse over the "gain" of an EQ (for instance UAD EQs or such) and then turning a wheel?
@LonelyRocker
@LonelyRocker Год назад
Thanks! That would be complicated to do. Unlike midi controllers that can handle specific functions in a DAW this connects via Loupdecks app at the system level....

Can you readily use LoupeDeck Live (or other LoupeDeck model) for Reaper?
@LonelyRocker
@LonelyRocker 3 года назад
You can use it for any software. The only catch is if no profile exists you have to create it from scratch. You basically search for functions you want and assign them to your desired buttons and dials. Once done, you save it and it will load automatically each time...
