King Acrisius was told his only child, Danae, would bear a male heir to the throne but he would kill Acrisius, so he imprisoned her so no one could impregnate her. But Zeus thought she was hot, so he transformed himself into a cloud, and then fell as gold rain through a sky light into her prison. Then depending on what version of the story you go with, he either transformed back and they spent the night together, OR the gold rain went straight into her womb. Either way, she gave birth to the hero Perseus, who ended up killing his grandfather by accidentally hitting him with a discus. He’s also both the half-brother AND great-grandfather of Heracles, because Zeus gets down like that. Greek mythology is weird, man

I still don’t get the shoes that are often in the background (somewhat hidden this episode). Looks like some back to the future stuff, but can’t place whats wrong or if it’s even back to the future.

Um actually, from what I remember, Reneesme will continue to age quickly until she reaches adulthood and then she will stop ageing and (presumably) remain a young adult forever, like a vampire. Jacob has a similar thing where his body is apparently 25 even though I think he’s only 17 or 18 (one or two years younger than Bella) and he can also remain 25 indefinitely. If he had imprinted on a regular human, he could have aged with her but he got creepy vampire baby instead.

Um actually, he stops aging because he is shifting into wolf form...once he stops doing that for a significant period of time... he starts aging again. So it has to do with his shapeshifting/supernatural ability affecting his body. Not Resumes age.

I'm reminded of Interview with a Vampire where there's the whole taboo against vampirizing a child because they cease to age, this would be a weird inversion where she looks older than she is, versus looking younger than she is.

Definitely worse! Physically looking an age doesn't make them have the mental capacity, nor maturity for an adult relationship! It's why it's illegal and immoral.

@@bluchismoon funnily enough, Jacob’s body is supposed to be 25 but he’s actually only 17 or 18 at the end of the series. But yeah, it’s 100% grooming regardless of how fast she ages. I don’t think her telepathic abilities has anything to do with the fact that she ages quickly mentally because she doesn’t know what anyone else is thinking, she can just project her own thoughts into other peoples’ heads by touching them.
