Always sounds fresh, just never ages

1967. That was quite a year, wasn't it? I remember where I was the first time I heard this song. It was a night I will never forget. So cool that it has stayed with me so strong, after all these years.

It's one of the greatest songs ever written. Beautifully produced. Just heard it on Radio 2, Robert Plant chose it as one of his faves.

the opening chords of the guitar are the most potent mix of hope mixed w/ deep melancholy.

Brings me right back to 67....and the hope of youth...of course, since destroyed...

I graduated from Janes Monroe High School in Sepulveda California in 1967. I remember driving Laurel Canyon and hearing Alone again or on KRLA.

Fantastic song and I don't know why but I always think of beautiful pink flamingos when I hear it. A music era never to be forgotten.
