The preference for female babes would have collapsed China. They choose male babies because of finances. Best would have to have many babies and no one-child policy, the communist government screwing over the people once again.
This is where tradition knocked them in the @$$. It is traditionally believed to be the son's duty to take care of the elders financially. So everybody wanted a son. The wealthy families that had daughters raised them as if they were men. Made them ultra competitive. And those women ignored their biological clocks while they worked on developing their education and professional careers. Those women, are now the "forgotten women". They are no longer as fertile as they were, their quality of life makes them seek wealthy men, and they simply are too judgmental when looking towards a life long partner.
Being a good prospect to be a future wife or husband in any culture requires four things: those who respect and value the other gender, humility, being realistic about one’s future spouse, and a capacity for deep friendship. Being hard working is also a good trait. Also, being generally attracted to the person’s appearance helps, but keep in mind that some of the most beautiful or handsome people are the most arrogant and selfish, once you are in a relationship with them! Not all of them, but many are difficult to live with. “Good s*x” comes AFTER genuine friendship and making the commitment to marriage. I know, I’ve been married for 20 years and my husband and I have a great relationship!
I think that you can have a great relationship and great sex I have been married for 22 years. The secret is marry somebody you are madly in love with that you think it's so hot all the time and is the best person in the whole wide world. It helps if you marry a man who works and let's you stay home to play video games too😅
There are many "relationship" books for women and they tend to advice women to make sure the men loved them more than they do, otherwise, the women would be hurt more! I think that is a big mistake to think and approach relationship that way because when you start calculating who loves more you start holding back your feelings for men! Similar to equality! Being equal does not mean everything has to be the same between both genders! Of course it's not like women can be fair...when husbands take out garbages for some reason you don't count that as housework!@@heatherracho
Married 20 years here too, and you are asking for the impossible, and you should know that by year 10. I have to say I seriously doubt your 20-year claim. People change so much even year to year the thing that you have to have for a good marriage is FLEXIBILITY and the ability to accept that the other person is not going to be the person you married for long. As you go through life together, you are going to go through good times and bad times together. So long as there's no abuse, it will come down to how committed you are to your marriage, and are you willing to commit to the bad times too. If you are, then you will have a good marriage, and if not, then you will not. But just remember the qualifier of there not being ANY abuse. If there's abuse, GET OUT AS FAST AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN.
Actually they ARE the same person you married, your perception of them has just changed. When you first meet someone you have rose colored glasses and never see the real them because of dopamine firing in the brain. Later the dopamine settles down and you actually see who they are. They were always that person. @@strgazerlilly
No. He's just following PUA (pick up artist) techniques called neggings which is usually backhanded compliments. 'Your eyelashes are so long' (compliment) must be fake (insult)' There are lists of 'negging lines' to use. The goal is to find a victim who had really low self esteem or is going through some bad moments
It's literally explained in the video. Chinese women marry for money. Money is their God. Money is more important than your own family in many cases. Money and status. Pesky things like "love" or "jealousy" don't matter even nearly as much to them.
This video is from 2013, so a lot of social chnage in China in the last 10 years! The One Child Policy was ended in 2016, when it became clear about the long term demographic challenges looming.
😅 I mean didn't they think about it how do they think they're going to get a new population man can't have babies out their behinds. I mean this is really slow😂 they are suffering the repercussions of stupid actions , they played stupid game and now they had stupid prizes what do you expect hopefully they have a lot more better sense now
Who are you to judge it as being too late? People commenting aren't citizens nor even live in the country! A large population doesn't equal wealth, e.g overpopulated African countries where everyone is trying to leave for other countries. Before encouraging your people to reproduce in large numbers, you need provide jobs to be able to feed and nurture them first.
@@s._3560I suggest you look at the studies done by experts. It’s not the one child in and of itself that caused the problem. It’s that, combined with the society’s valuing boys far above girls, and putting a high value on younger women as wives/mothers which has led to this huge imbalance between the numbers of men and women of “marriageable age.” There is a tipping point at which such an imbalance will lead to the dying out of a culture. China’s strength as a military leader relies a great deal on sheer numbers. Those numbers are falling exponentially. There is a very real possibility that China will not only lose it’s position in Asian politics within the next couple of generations, but might also be unable to keep its hold on Vietnam, Hong King, and other territories. The next step after that would be splintering of the population along borders, cultures, religions, etc.
I'll be honest. I thought his place looked rough. He doesn't put any effort into really maintaining the home or himself. This guy is all work. But if you are looking to date, you get haircut, you get a custom fit suit made, and buy some dress shoes. Put on a watch, tie, and sunglasses that aren't scratched all to hell. You look business. This guy ... he looks like he just crawled out of bed and this is his day off. He is a prime example of some of the things the Red Pill community tell men. Focus on yourself, be the best version of you, you can be, and then go after the women.
The last woman made me so sad. She invested her whole life into her family- a husband and child for him to follow his private into another woman. She seems a very smart and strong lady. Good for her ❤
Exactly...women would never talked about how they treated their husbands to make them look elsewhere... like how they stop giving husbands attention but only complained when men finally cheated! It's well documented that after marriages women stopped giving men sex and attention!@@YTT718
"Your bride is under your feet," is an expression that acknowledges the hundreds of thousands of baby girls who were murdered under the one child policy.
@@AZ-rg3rf "Female infanticide, especially as a result of the One-Child Policy, has caused an imbalance of genders and available females of childbearing age resulting in a decline in population and births. In 2017 there were under 13 birth per 1000 people. There were also 33 million more men than women. This ratio imbalance between childbearing females and males, because of female infanticide, has also led to the rise of sex trafficking and bridal kidnapping of females or importing brides from other countries." -- Wikipedia. How do you account for 33 million more men than women of childbearing age?
Is it all her fault? No. But she shares fault with the husband. Cheating is cheating, whether you are cheating on your own spouse or cheating with someone else’s.
The “leftover” attitude problem needs to drop fast. What a terrible way to treat women in a society that already fked up with pop ratios. 10 million men that cannot find a spouse and still have an attitude problem with women???
China has a serious social dynamics issue, many young people don't know how to converse or socialize with the opposite sex. What makes this problem even more worse is the rise in "materialism", this has affected women more than men. Modern Chinese women are superficial beyond redemption, making them (Asian women) the most pickiest female demographic in the world. Modern Chinese women willingly choose to become "leftover women" because they refuse to settle (get married to an average man), they refuse to accept reality.
Men are also called leftovers or 'bare branches' (will give no fruit) and it's usually by the age of 30. The very rich men might be called 'golden bachelors' but the common joe is nothing but a bare branch. Women would rather be single or mistresses than settle for a bare branch.
it's nice to see people actively trying to make a connection with somebody special.... and that they don't seem desperate is cool too. It is ok to be shy but, also honest about looking.
Marriage is built on money and resources in most places in the world. It's sold to most people as a Disney Fantasy in the USA. It’s probably why the divorce rate is 70% plus
@@1Skorpia From a biological point of view, it makes sense. Maybe not at 25, but at 30 it slowly becomes critical. Especially from the point of view of men who want to start a family and can afford it. Of course it doesn't make you feel good in your stomach, but these are facts that women don't want to see and prefer to react emotively
I lived in Shanghai for 5 years and open for a GF and maybe marriage/kids. Being a foreigner at 40 yrs old, the "approach" style worked great . It worked much better than being setup with many girls by my employees.
My Shanghai employees kept setting me up with model friends they know. All were as tall as me but lacked individualism. They all had same stories and likes. Pretty they were but not attractive to western standards. After 3 different dates, I had them stop setting me up. Did much better and nore fun meeting girls off the street.
3:33 unfortunately, he probably does not recognize these as blunders, he is “negging” or making slight put-downs to assert dominance. The eyelash one comes straight out of the book “The Game” by pick-up artist Mystery. I never needed to insult women to get them to talk to me, but then again, I got married at 25 and have been married for 15 years, so what do I know.
He just didn't know how to talk to women! It's not about dominance or insulting because women do that to men all the time... he's obsesed, he's too short! He's only a waiter, etc, etc!
"...I'm very busy...they must be fake (eyelashes)...your hands are very flappy, they're like noodles". Dude, if Ms. Noodle Hands still talked to you in your "normal conversation", MARRY HER! So 10 million men will go single but they don't want women over 27 years old? How is that?
It causes an outcry that a man who bought an apartment BEFORE marriage no longer has to share it with the partner who did NOTHING for it in the event of divorce? What the hell? Of course he doesn't have to share it
It has something to do with a woman being useless past a certain age or years of use... acording to men. Last time I checked there was a slaughter of girls in China over boys.
Wait until the newly wedded couple enters the midlife crisis that's where the problem usually starts... people don't start cheating until after years of wedding usually.
If you are actively involved in a society built around money, purely secular with no spuritual notion, and against a man-made urban background with no significant interaction with nature , you will always struggle to be happy, content and at peace.
Actually people have religions in China. Their state just isn't religious nor dedicated to one single religion (as many in the world are). However most of the major world organized religions are represented in China besides their own local folk religions which is like Shitoism. If they don't want the other foreign centres of religious powers interfering in their organisations, it is no different behaviour from the reformation of churches that happened in the European countries who broke from the Roman based Vatican to establish their own branch of Christianity because they wanted to be in control of their own heads of churches. Many societies in the West are even more in pursuit of money than China. Most people are just nominal christians in the West, they don't go to churches now, they go for sports matches!
China has many interactions with nature. You are only seeing one negative portrayal of a big city capital Beijing and shot with a full 1970's filter. Though the people have settled in the lands for thousands of years and have a huge population densely packed in cities, they still have elephants, pandas, snow leopards, tigers, bears, wolves and other large herbivores like wild yaks and antelopes. This compared to the distinct lack of large wild predators that now exists in Europe.
You make some really good points. I thought Shintoism was a purely Japanese thing. In any case, my descriptions were general things that concoct human misery. They don't all apply to China but a lot of them do. In China I know they have certain faiths like Daoism and Confusciasm but, as you make the distinction, they seem nominal; they are afterthoughts and don't appear to inform their actions. You say about the West. But they are the worst example of how not to live. All my descriptions do seem to apply to them. You are right about there being lots of indigenous wild animals, but the general view of their relationship with the animals is almost always predatory and commercial and they have a reputation for being cruel and brutal. My opinions are not based on this 1 documentary. Its based on many news stories, documentaries and other media about China as well my personal interactions with the Chinese and other peoples experiences of having lived in China.
@@muggedinmadrid Well, I beg to differ and feel sad for you that you seem to chose to interpret China as negative - labeling them ''cruel and brutal"'. Supposedly having lived in China, looks like your prejudices never left you to view an entire nation of 1.4 billion as ''cruel and brutal''. Yet there are many stories of Chinese people having a good relationship with animals and nature. They just don't get featured at all by Western media who have chosen to view/interpret China in a most biased negative light since the days of Qing dynasty when they came into most frequent contact. Especially so these past few years because they are afraid of its size and rapid development matching their own. In Daoism and just folk religions in general, there is a philosophy of living in harmony with nature and ''live and let live''. Of course during the period when China was besieged by the colonial powers, WW2, subsequent civil war and sanctions, their society went a great upheaval, conflict and turmoil. When ordinary people are living a hand-to-mouth existence in abject poverty, they have little time to consider most things other than survival. ''Commercial and predatory'' you should qualify your statements.
@s._3560 on reflection, maybe I'm being a little prejudicial and judgemental of the Chinese because I had a few bad experiences of them. I'm going to try and keep an open mind and be more tolerant and try hard not to do what humans often do - hold equivocal opinions based on too few facts and a few isolated, personal, subjective experiences.
"Business is booming for the man in the mink coat". I don't know why but that made me laugh like a drain. It was like saying "Business is booming for the man wearing solid gold shoes"
It takes 2 to tango, yet you conveniently left out what a man should look for in a woman or do they come ready made smdh Women can longer wait at the finish line for well accomplished men, they also have to put in the work.
I know of Chinese expats in my current company that married local brides where they are stationed. I attended a regional company dinner n dance once and it reminded me of a UN gathering with all the different wives races. One of them told me the ration of men to women in China is 7 men to 1 women.
My wife is Chinese, I have spent some time in China, and I’m pretty familiar with the issues of finding a mate and marrying among Chinese. The problem as i see it is overestimation of their value in society. It happens with both men and women but is especially so in women, due to the imbalance in the number of men to women. Men are expected to have a career, a high income, own an apartment, home, or property, and to buy cars for the women. Women’s families also put pressure on the man to provide everything for the woman, even if she already has a good career and income. Women have sold themselves on the belief that they are deserving of this because they have high opinions of themselves. Men in China can be unrealistically picky with certain criteria, especially age. But due to women’s high expectations, even some successful men have no chance, and many are going to poorer neighboring countries to find wives.
I was wondering why if there are more men, why are the women still demeaned and called “ leftover.” Thanks for explaining. The women want a fairytale. Just old American women. I’m female. lol
@@LovebyJesus Yeah, it’s obviously a cultural issue and unrealistic on the men’s part. The main goal in finding a mate in China seems to be more about procreation and less about love. It’s one of the ways that the complaints of Chinese men having a hard time finding wives, fall flat when they actively disregard older women, divorcees, or women who already have children. And when I say older women, I’m talking about over 27 😂Maybe men would have an easier time finding a wife if they weren’t so picky. Overall though, it’s Chinese women who are the more unrealistic though, and seem to value themselves higher than men. It’s why many poorer men in China who don’t own homes or have high paying jobs have little chance of finding wives and are going to poorer, neighboring countries to find wives (Vietnam for example).
I met my wife in Bei Jing 25 years ago. She's the sister of a friend of a friend of my good friend. She's an accountant. I was a lab tech. I'm retired now. She's fully committed, cooperative, easy to be with. Everything I ever wanted in a wife.
This looks relatively old but I wouldn't be surprised if this is still going on. Look at what the world's come to today. So love definitely comes at a cost, who wants this? They judge each other based on centimeters and stupid stuff like how the person is and what not like they're judging their Jade and picking fish at a fish market. I was cringing every minute of watching this. They've got a huge problem in Asia but you might as well say this is the rest of the world as well. This is sad. And then you have some women who turned a blind eye to cheating husbands off of the money I mean that sounds about right here. I guess money really is a common denominator for all of this. I mean a lot of people will say duh but it's sad that we got to this point. I don't want this at all , men will have no natural affection be boastful, lovers of themselves and love is of money rather than natural affection. This is disgusting
Talk about disgusting? How about Singapore govt taking away your child, then making all sorts of wild allegations such that as if you don't deserve to be a family, like saying you're crazy bcos U believe in UFOs, that yr 9 year old daughter has suicidal thoughts this better be given to the Catholic Archdiocese, that you are a terrorist though no violence ever existed, and even that just bcos you are poor hence you shld not have children bcos you can't afford to support a family ...all of which aren't true but bcos U r targeted...and there's nothing U can do to fight this cos it's all RIGGED. It happened to my family n we suffered till now for three long years! They became spiteful as soon as I reported this to OHCHR and UNICEF. Complete violations of basic rights and national Constitution, what do they care? We are minorities.
I guess it is from 2017. They say after 20 years she is still bitter and then they say she divorced him in 2007, after he already had the affair for 10 years.
Yep, I learned so many things! For example, did you already knew that when you try to pick up a girl in the street "you must be certain the girl isn't with a boyfriend?" (That's crucial) 1:39
What is the point in hiring a investigator to see if your husband is cheating, if your are not going to leave him. Stop wasting money and let him have his affair in peace!
Wow a 10-year old video presented like it is present day. 10 years of change in China is the equivalent to 30 years change in the West. Also, the One Child policy ended in 2016.
@RainbowBrite. Not specificing date, allows the producer to edit and frame the video to fit a narrative and to appear like it is present day. This is how propaganda works.
Nothing change since then because new generation don't want more than 1 child, and the politic of one child generate millions of boys because for the chinese a boy is a must have...so now the problem will persiste.
I couldn't have said it any better. I couldn't help but see the correlation to the west and is even worse here I believe a lot of people who think just because they look good means that they're going to have happy lives it's very much the opposite people are miserable because they don't find the value in true relationships but they're going to find out the hard way here.
When I was 12 - 17, I had so many adult Chinese man approaching me for relationship. I know there are paed...lias everywhere but as paed....lias is a norm in China and Korea- even until couple of years ago it wasn't a crime -, the way I have experienced is there are more paed....lia Chinese and Korean men rather than not. You should make a documentary on that as well.
I am an ESL teacher with students from all over, and I've had both suave and socially awkward Chinese men as students, no different from anywhere else. If any man from any country says things like "Your hands are flappy like noodles" or "Your x is pretty, must be fake" he doesn't deserve women because he hasn't figured out how to socialize, and no woman wants to hear that sh*t. Also no women wants to be next in line for some creeper who is after any woman who responds to his weird statements tolerantly. Gavin needs to be alone until he grows up.
What if it's a double game? You say some nonsense and see the reaction, a decent woman would at least show some compassion for the silly guy.. and the bad woman would - "eew, get lost creep", then you know she isn't worth the time to keep talking.
@@JamesSmith-ix5jd what the f nonsense is this? Women aren't required to show compassion to strange men, or even acknowledge them. Men deserve nothing from women.
Strangely enough, the question of why men look for a concubine is not addressed. All the risk and stress just for the status? I don't think so. I think the love life with the partner no longer exists or never really did when you see the criteria by which women choose their men
Most of women they are love a value not value love. Women can be very easily leave you when you broke and down or struggling. This is my own experience after 13y of marriage, she leave us, when i need her the most.😂😅
Am I the only one who noticed how gray the sky is throughout this documentary? How do people breathe without being affected by the pollution around them? It's so polluted.
I am a Caucasian American woman who married Chinese man and we did these photos! They were exhausting omg I almost passed out after 8 hours a day being done up with makeup artists, hair and many outfit changes and styles being played with like a doll because being tall, blonde and white is very fun to work with they said. It’s quite an experience but fun and beautiful. Worth it but also extremely expensive. $10,000 is about right and you get a giant framed portrait to prominently display in your home forever as well a phone book thick heavy albums of all your photos. We had many locations. Luckily I fit in their dresses because they are tiny in size so if you’re not similar in size to them you will be hard pressed to have many good outfits. They offer this same experience in the USA as well if you know where to go.
Single or married/divorced they all make men the center of their lives. The men have no consequences for bad behaviour so no incentive to stop. You are all too stubbornly traditional in your views. Open your minds to different perspectives
He has money, his value is high in the dating market. Meanwhile his wife is old, no value in the market. So naturally a 10/10 man (aka high in demand rich uncles) wouldn't be content with a 5/10 aging wife it's to be expected.
@@ncs9753 love has no immoral grounds. it's men vice because of their money they feel running women are happiness for them, but women who are with these men are not truly happy because they don't perform well in the bedroom, women will fake, lie then laugh behind those men backs because for them it's all about recieving the money from their sugar daddy, in addition, women are often slave to them men, again because of vanity
What the women don't realize is that the life of a concubine only lasts into their late 20s. The status they bring to their benefactor is their young age. It is literally short term gain in quality of life in exchange for long term impacts as those same women will still be among the forgotten women.
It's amazing how there is such an air of respect reporting on those unrespectable men and women in China. I wonder what the mood would be if it were say in Africa 🌍 or Caribbean?
Mistresses or concubines are as old as time and survives well into modern times. I have a friend whose uncle had a wife and family in his hometown but flew regularly to 3 different countries for business. In each country, he had a mistress whom he kept on a salary, living in a luxurious condominium with a BMW for transport. Everytime he flewed in, he expected his mistress to pick him up at the airport and he will stay at the condominium for a week or so. He claimed that he saved on hotel expenses :)
Few points... A young, tall, handsome and rich guy is always more attractive. If you lack one or more, your chances dwindle. If you can't find a woman in your own country, go yo other places and find one that is waiting for you. It may cost you a little bit of money but it's cheaper than having a wife and paying the wife bribe. Happiness is not inherently to what other person may have for you but deep inside yourself.
@@maam-yj8ph You don't know maybe she has better things to do at that moment. Plus usually if you don't know someone you also don't care about his/her opinions or views on life, the whole thing feels fake, even if you discuss the deepest secrets it doesn't make you closer to her psychologically.
Congratulations for the newly married 🥰😍. For the concubine I hope they respect them self and stop hurting families or couples, what goes around comes around.
All those desperate Chinese men, consider there are hundreds of thousands of ruSSian widows desperate for a living, and the number is increasing daily.
This documentary, when did it make? It seems like years ago, you see from the building in Shenzhen, and the clothing these mistresses wearing. Hopefully this is the past tense.
The fashion trends in china is different from the rest of the world, so it's no surprise that they look very old-fashioned, but people are still wearing them to this day
Nice and best documentary ever ,it has teach us many things ,good work ,but tell Chinese men to come in Africa ,alot of beautiful and hardworking ladies are there❤😂😂
I lived in China in 2012 and 2013 on business. I befriended a local 20 year old girl. One day she told me that she and a friend were given 1500rmb (about $225) to go to dinner with two rich men. They were propositioned to become concubines, which sounded like sex slaves to me. My friend declined, but her friend accepted. 20,000rmb per month plus an apartment. The conditions? Available for anything any time at the call of the rich man, who was married and had a family. That is a lot of money for poor Chinese, but I told my friend I was glad she said no.
Romantic love is a modern, western concept. It is not #1 in China for reasons for marrying. Many feel they can grow to love each other but its not necessary.
Boy math is having the audacity to call YOUNG women who are 27+ “leftover” when there are exponentially more men unmarried than women due to the one child policy
Who said they are shy? But there are billions of people. People are started from relationships. It must be ironic to say they are shy for relationship?
