Was lovely to learn more about you both, so thank you for sharing. I married my Japanese husband in 1986 and we wanted our children to have Japanese names but ones that could easily fit in or be adapted by English speakers as I am Australian. We found it easy to choose Japanese girls names (we have two daughters) but struggled a bit to find a boys name for our son. In the end we settled on Tomoya - which he uses in Japan and he uses Tom in Australia. Interestingly, all of our children have given Japanese names to their children, so all our grandkids have Japanese names that we love and are proud of. The world is becoming so multicultural - which is a wonderful thing. Anyway…thank you again for sharing. Take care and love from Australia ❤❤

Thank you so much for answering my question! You are always so adorable and so kind-hearted people, I am always happy to watch your videos! Looking forward to many more of your beautiful videos! Sending you happy vibes and a big hug from Germany and at one point as a newbie in Japan! ❤❤❤

Thank you for answering my questions! 🥰 Even after being here for a year and getting used to life in Japan, I definitely get very homesick sometimes, which is what prompted me to ask about that. I hope that it will get easier with time! My family being spread all throughout the States and none of us having enough money to travel back and forth every year, I very much feel the distance. It’s difficult for me to have to come to the realization that I very possibly could only be seeing my family every five years. Maybe I feel it a bit more intensely because I’m an identical twin though. 😂 When I do start having kids, that will be the basis for picking names too. Can both sides of the family pronounce it? 🤣

I loved your old apartment too, i remember watching the video and I cried watching you drive away. I think with adults it is knowing that sometimes you miss one another, but true friends want to see their friends happy and flourish and follow their dreams and always thinking of one another and checking in.

Thank you for sharing your family story. I've been retired in Okinawa for almost 5 years, and my Japanese language ability is still the same, about 50 words. When you get to your 60's, learning a new language is difficult. Growing up in California, my parents didn't speak any Japanese to us, so we really didn't have any opportunities to learn. Also when I was working, I would go to work everyday, and also do quite a bit of business travel to the east coast, and asia and Dubai. I'm gone frequently. So when I retired, I'm home or local everyday. It's really critical that a couple ....get along. Fortunately, even after 37 years of marriage, we really get along pretty well, so no problems there. I have friends that have had problems when they retired. Take care!

To put it out there my sister says my nieces name Naomi is very common in Japan which surprised me. I would have questioned that but I bought a songbook from a Naomi in Yokohama and you can't miss Naomi Osaka. Not sure of course if this meets your criteria of half Japanese / English. Part of the reason I say that is being a halfie, the Japanese side may not expect a reference to japan in their name. Trying not to be negative but these are my observations from being a RU-vid junkie when it comes to Japan which is the major source of my information. Take care.

Thank you for answering my questions! It's interesting, especially for me, being raised in the US and born in Ecuador with a husband that was born in the US and his family is from El Salvador. Although be both speak English and Spanish there were differences in our cultures and countries too. I used to work for an OB/GYN and I know how messed up the healthcare system is here, I was wondering what it was like so far for you guys in Japan. Thanks for another great video, and hope you guys have a healthy and adventurous baby like you guys.

Congratulations on 1000 subscribers 🎊👏🏻(^▽^ *) It's great that we respect each other. (A trip around Japan in a camper car .🚐 ) I think we were able to feel even more that we needed each other. ❤️😊 The experiences you have when you are young will definitely help you in your long life. Above all, what impresses me the most is that the two of you are such good friends and are enjoying life together. (^o^)b As for the name, I think 🤔 it's better if it's easy to pronounce. (o^^o)💭
