Love Can't Turn Around ~ Farley "Jackmaster" Funk & Jessie Saunders Featuring Darryl Pandy Metropolitan Soul slightly turned around re - edit
Seminal 1986 House music from Chicago, a big hit in the UK and a record that revived the energy and spirit of Disco at a time when a lot of dance music had become bland. House music was never far from Disco and Isaac Hayes moody I Can't Turn Around from his 1975 album Chocolate Chip was an underground favourite full of low key menace and a churning, dark repeated riff. Love Can't Turn Around took Isaac's track and modernised it. Farley "Jackmaster" Funk & Jessie Saunders both claimed credit for the new arrangement and initially Darrel Pandy, whose incredible Diva on the edge of hysteria vocals pushed the track into the stratosphere wasn't credited. The names and features of the remixed versions that came with the hit status don't create a clear picture but whichever way you cut it, this record took everything to another level setting the tone for the future. It still stands as one of post Disco Dance music's most exciting moments, ......................A Metropolitan Soul Fave Rave ! #MetropolitanSoul @MetropolitanSoul
