Consequences include dishonorable discharge, loss of rank, pay reduction, military jail time, and loss of military benefits. Yes you can loss your military career and all benefits. Other factors are considered when determining which consequences each individual gets such as any prior offenses. And you're actually suppose to report such things if you find out about it.

Being in the service for 7 years there are plenty of stories I've heard of from service members that went through it or had friends go through it. The term for the person dicking/claming down your spouse is "Jody" which can be male/female depending on the service members gender. Don't get me wrong though, it goes both ways.
Dude that was asking for Name and Rank, they were stationed homes in a military complex base. I have a cousin in the Army who lives like this and the Rank classifies what level of property you own on the base. You can lose all privileges, be removed of base without pay or lose levels of Rank and to regain Rank Privileges you'd have to redeploy into service to Rank back up.

This guy is a soldier who just returned home, and when he finds another man in his home with his wife in the shower, he called him "Jody" as he tells him to leave.
I've heard a similar story like that. A soldier on deployment with the 101st Airborne (I think), got a message from one of his best buds that his old lady was knocking boots with another soldier in supply back home. Worst of all, this same Jody was shacked up with her sleeping in his bed, eating his food, drinking his liquor, and watching his TV. He mad his CO promise not to get word back about when they'd return. So when this soldier got back, his soon-to-be-ex didn't know which must have been a shock when he, his buddy, and his CO (a mustang captain) marched right in past her in the living room into the bedroom, towards the bathroom where they heard the shower going. The look of abject terror and surprise on that pos's face must have been exquisite. Personally, I'm just surprised that soldier didn't call the Ambulance first to report a dead man in the shower, and then call the MPs after finding a home invader in his shower.

Hey guys I was married for four years to a beautiful woman, Well she ended up screwing my friend & getting pregnant. Yeah, I was in a situation where I couldn't really detach myself from the child that I was there for the birth of and raised for a couple of years, even when me and the mother split up. It didn't take her long to detach the child from me, though, he's almost 10 now and doesn't even know who I am even though he carries the name of my son. My son in laws ex did similiar thing to him, made him think he was the father for years, and it wasn't the fact alone that it wasn't his bio kid it was his first child and he felt like a punk not knowing, if he had at least known he wouldn't of gave up but the not knowing it til years later was too much for him he couldn't look at the kid the same and he didn't want to make the kid grow up seeing him staring like that with anger at the mom. Luckily and happily he with my daughter and they just had their first kid 8 months ago and got another on the way. Jody is a military term for someone that sleeps with the service members significant other while they are usually deployed or at training. He wasn't saying the dudes name he was calling him a Jody. Jody's 99% of the time know the person they are sleeping with is in a relationship and only come around with the service member is away from the house. There is also a huge punishment if you are a service member sleeping with a service members significant other, usually loss of rank, pay, and more.
