The brain is a biological machine running on electromagnetism so the assumption if a planet is pulsing with electromagnetism then it is just a big brain

It took me a second viewing to understand it better. Then it became my favourite of the season. The ending is ambiguous. It can be interpreted differently. But I think Io wanted to help save her first. But when it became clear Martha wouldn't make it, Io gave her a choice to join her with no guarantee if she would die or live forever. In the end, she became one with the planet (moon). She transcended her human form.

tripped dmt in my early 20s... the ENTIRE UNIVERSE being like this was what I experienced. I cried at the beauty and magnanimity I experienced when I tripped, and I cried in seeing the same thing mirrored in this episode the first DOZEN times i watched this.

I hears one theory that it isn't Io, but Jupiter. Io is an extension of Jupiter, because every time Martha looks up; the Great Red Spot is looking at her like an eye.

I put this in the same line as Zima blue, very thought provoking

IO brought her to the edge to decide for herself, Burton joined with it after her death already bit Kivelson still was alive, she was carried by IO as she carried her friend but was left right at the edge to decide for herself. I really liked Bad Traveller aswell but this Episode fells special to me, the music visuals and voice acting plus the story and concept put this on top for me! I mean when was the last time any media showed another form of possible afterlive or scenario of what happens when you die its either hell/heaven, eternal nothingness or a big maybe. Kivelson was dead anyways but this gave both her an dIO the chance to join.

My favorite episode of the season

I see an allegory about how certain combinations of circumstance can open a way to slip from one reality to another. How the planet reaches out and sort of telepathically engages with her via the poetry in her memory is possible because of the situation she's in, then fueled by the chemical cocktail in her bloodstream. I love that it gives the viewer the choice of how to interpret it.

Fun fact: the eye in Jupiter aka the Great Red Spot, was created by martians a VERY long time ago trying to create a second sun, and failed and it left it with that...
