​@@ameliapond775 I personally think Jackie presented herself differently in the pods which is prob how Marshall fell for her so quickly. And no matter what, Marshall handles his emotions and his flaws better. Had he really had a savior complex he would have fought for her harder or actually stayed with her, but he drew the line and called it quits after so many instances of disrespect. The same can't be said about Jackie, who clearly has issues and unresolved trauma that she herself is very self-aware about, but not only refuses to deal with it, but makes it everyone else's problem. I don't believe that Marshall calling Jackie a "project" was right, however, that was clearly out of his character, and he even further explained what he meant in their argument and how it was said out of anger and frustration. This is further substantiated by the fact that he never once did something problematic like that again. Jackie on the other hand just keeps doing the same mistakes over and over again, and refusing to apologize or taking accountability for it. Marshall is lightyears ahead in terms of maturity and taking accountability than Jackie, which is why I genuinely believe that he is likely to find his happy ending faster and more reliably than someone like Jackie.

@@procastination_is_my_passi4182 she was basically a project. Because at every turn she was making issues he was trying to fix. Even how she handled the ending was part of that problem. People are weird about full honesty in relationships. I once told an ex partner that she made me feel like a parent and I didn’t like or want it. I told her I wasn’t her mother or her father. She was mad and didn’t talk to me for two days. But she agreed with me and apologized and we talked about why she felt the need to act certain ways and why I responded the way I would to it. It was great for us. If I had kept it to myself then it would have festered.

In the pods she presented herself as a damsel in distress who's always had toxic men in her life and he chose her to “fix" her, I recognize the type. He definitely didn't deserve to be cheated on, no one deserves that. But Jackie's red flags were there all along, he would've left wayy earlier if he didn't have this savior complex going on. So technically he didn't leave, she straightup cheated on him and told him to fuck off which obviously hurt his ego because in his head he's the perfect guy. My point was that they're both stuck in different kinda toxic loops and gravitate towards trauma

@@ameliapond775 legit, he literally acknowledges that he didn't want to be judged by Bliss' family but never said that was the reason why he ran. like it's so clearly the reason it's frustrating that he's so honest but won't say that he didn't think he was good enough for Bliss and so he ran away from the confrontation. He never liked Irina he calls out her horrible personality straight away but for some reason he can't come to terms and admit that he felt second best and so he went with the second best option (Irina). I feel like if he just said it how it is rather than 'oh you know I love you' Bliss would feel completely different.

Interesting, I actually felt the opposite when I watched. I’m close with my dad and I expect him to be upfront and straight with me on something this big as well. I took it as he doesn’t want to see her make the same mistakes his other daughter or even himself has made. If my daughter grows up and comes to me with a man she met 21 days ago i’d grill her the same way.

He didn't let Bliss finish a single sentence without cutting her off, he didn't pay attention to Zack's passions and kept making snide little remarks when he was talking about his literal profession and was just so bitter and downright malicious towards Zack who was nothing but respectful and graceful throughout the whole meeting. And hot take but everybody has their own traumas and scarring life experiences, that doesn't give you any excuse to treat people like garbage. Honestly, Bliss's dad is like a copy of my dad (pretty sure same ethnic background too). They're smart asses and definitely got that macho know-it-all thing going. It's hard being a daughter/son to people like this... I've shed many tears for sure. But if I had to find *one* good thing, it'd be that a tiny bit of that no-nonsense/cynical attitude gets passed on. Like, I'm usually a pretty soft-spoken, passive person... but if I feel a line being crossed or red flags being raised, that asshole-y part of my dad comes out of me and I shut it all down lol. I've had friends, co-workers, etc. be shocked at how well I stand my ground on certain things and I can say it's solely bc I grew up seeing my dad not tolerating any "goofy business" as he likes to call it.
