"Love Is in the Air" is a 1977 disco song by Australian singer John Paul Young. It was written by George Young (no relation) and Harry Vanda, and released as the lead single from Young's fourth studio album, Love Is in the Air (1978). The song became a worldwide hit in 1978, peaking at No. 3 on the Australian charts and No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart. In the United States, it peaked at No. 7 on the pop chart and spent two weeks at No. 1
Inspired by my friend Ian’s version from the guitar Sanctuary who recorded a great version last month !
Played on my Fender 56 NOS Custom Stratocaster fitted with Kinman Impersonator 54 v3 pickups on Middle position through a Jeds Peds Magna Vibes (Tremolo) and into an Alesis Quadraverb Q2 with EFTP patch 1-66 Abbey road reverb..
Sound recorded in Cubase SX6 and edited with the three 4K Video takes made with 3 Panasonic VX870 4K camcorders in Song Vegas Pro 14

Hi Ian - I do like songs from around that era so I was glad to hear yours as it was one I had forgotten about. the arrangements were similar - I'm always one for playing what''s in your head even if it's from the backing and not the lyric - that's the good thing about instrumental covers there is no restrictions. Good Evening Phil, a hit of the disco era sounded absolutely fantastic as an instrumental. The intro is a bit tricky . The excellent playing and tone complimented the BT absolutely and was indeed a joy to listen to the blast from the past. Guess love is in the air and you had a great time rendering it. The George Young who wrote this was actually the older brother of Angus and Malcolm Young of the internationally famous group AC/DC. Whilst it was a massive hit back in the late 70s, it had a further renaissance when it was included in the movie Strictly Ballroom in 1992 and was even part of the closing ceremony of the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

@@random275 Estimado Phil: Quería comprar una guitarra Fender custo, como la que tienes(white and red) pero no la conseguí en Argentina.Cambié por cuarta vez mi Fender Strato Custom Shop David Gilmour por una Fender strato del 90.La cambié dado que la D.Gilmour es muy "dulce", en cambio la del 90 tiene el sonido "pura sangre" Fender, sobre todo las bordonas.Dado lis temas como Reader in the Sky,Apache,RI FI FI.,Luna triste y todos lis temas con bordonas.El efecto de sonido a cinta que usan no se consigue y me dijeron que las cintas se pueden romper y menos se consiguen.De cuakquier mabera la nueva Fender no necesita tantos efectos.Tampoco se consigue el pedal Strymond BigSky.Un abrazo.Toco muchos temas tuyos.
