Thank you for including my Grandmother Elaine Strong ("Grandma Bunny") in your video in the beauty salon looking at makeup, one of her favorite things. You took such good care of her until April 11, 2016, at age 92 she passed away from Alzheimer's. There is elegance here with caring, loving staff.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment, Jennifer. Grandma Bunny was a wonderful lady who I was delighted to meet and film. I’m so glad she received such excellent care and support at Silverado.

My mother lives in one of their communities and I have to say they're amazing. I live in the UK and being so far away is incredibly hard. I can only get back 3 to 4 times a year to see her, but knowing she's being so well cared for is a huge comfort! Thanks to all the staff at Silverado Fort Worth, TX. You're amazing people and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. x

I have had the pleasure of working with Silverado as a keynoter for various events. They are a class act. If my finances are ample enough by the time I need care, I'd go in a heartbeat. This is the one thing we need to remember with care options. Not everyone has the assets to afford a place like Silverado that has plants, animals, cooking, and just an ideal homelike atmosphere. I had considered featuring this inspiring piece on TheCaregiversVoice.com Video Channel [ thecaregiversvoice.com/the-caregivers-voice-video-channel/ ] but I realize most families would be hard-pressed to have this option for their loved ones. However, this doesn't mean I'll stop encouraging other care organizations from aspiring to and taking at least several steps toward this level of care. After all, our loved ones deserve it.

Hi Brenda, thanks for leaving a comment. Yes that's true, Silverado is unique, but it's their hope that they can share their learnings with others so that more communities might be able to adopt these principles of love. It doesn't cost anything to give someone a smile or hold their hand or be more compassionate. There's so much we can do that doesn't cost anything at all. And that's one of the key messages we're hoping to share in this film. Perhaps you could highlight this thought if you choose to share the film with your group. Every small change can make a big difference and the more people who come to know about this way and expect it, the better chance we have of seeing a culture shift in the way our community thinks about and cares for people living with dementia. Thank you for all the work that you do. Much love, Corinne

+Fire Films Corinne, you're so right. Smiles are free. So is kindness. It's like we need a kindness movement -- it would make becoming dementia-friendly so much easier! Thanks for a wonderful film Corinne and Cathy

We agree, Corinne. As I included the last two sentences of my original comment. Like you, it remains my aim to help organizations starting at the top to encourage the kind of care our loved ones deserve.
