Hi ! I just watched this video 😅 , I can recommend you to put the mold in the freezer (with the first layer in , so the first layer can harden fast , and you will save a lot of time between layers ) . Its been 3 years since you posted this video, but maybe this tip could help to the new soap makers 😊 . Love your work and the way you teach!
AU Love your creativity with melt n pour. It is wonderful to have someone showing videos of this as most do CP soaping videos. I'm learning heaps from you. Thank you so much. Love your work.
How Beautiful!! Four hours?! Wow! I made a Fall Leaf soap once, where I hand made leaves on 4 different colors. It took forever. It was lovely but I coukd never do it again, too much overhead. Thanks for sharing!
I've found your videos last week and have been binge watching them. I even got my three year old daughter hooked haha! I really like the way you experiment with the MP soap. Keep up the great work.
Awesome soap. I'm going try and recreate one but with a different fragrance according to our choice here. Shall definitely post it on you tube. Dean you have wonderful way of making soaps and very easy to follow. Appreciate you come up with new designs. Truly inspirational. Thanks again
if you ever revisit this soap, i have two suggestions! 1. to make it stick better, you can scratch the top layer with a toothpick. 2. poppyseeds in the white layer would give it some serious visual interest, i think it would look really nice!
You make some great soap I like all your soaps I would like to try the one that look like 🔥 I never seen a soap like that one it's the most beautiful soap I ever seen its to beautiful to use.
Hi Dean! I accidentally bought melt and poor soaps when I was learning how to make cold press. Anyway, they sat there until a few days ago when I thought I'd come to RU-vid and see how they were used, and found you! Thank you for all the videos, I've had a ball watching. What I like most is the way your willing to experiment. It works, yay! It doesn't, back to the drawing board. Anyway after watching this one I had to give my first RU-vid comment (for anything) to you. Looking forward to your next one. Btw, I didn't see the flaws until you pointed them out, lol.
Oh I just received the Love spell FO. U gave me an idea, since I am making them for personal use, I might use my mini heart mold and put in a center of a square mold to avoid the misalignment... Hmmm, peach and dark pink for the color maybe 🤔😂
You have such a great talent in making soaps! I wish I was able to buy yours off Etsy or EBay :-(. At least I can still watch you make them online ; - ).
I love all of your videos because they are very detailed. The only thing that I don't see is when do you add the fragrance? Oh and how do you measure the size of the bars? Thank you and please keep posting.
With melt and pour videos I dont usually show adding the fragrance but I always do. Do you mean cut my bars? You can find my cutting bar video here. www.meltandpour.net/vid.php?vid=101
(AU) Great experimental technique, looks amazing - great result. Any very small imperfections makes it more unique and hand made. The spare hearts can also be used as extra embeds for other projects as well. Nice hack with the box keeping the heart mould upright. Must use it some time. How do you prevent the liquid from leaking as the heart moulds seem to have two open ends? Thanks for another great video
Good day, Master Wilson! With reference to your ' Love Spell ' project above, you stated that there might be a possibility that those two halves might not stick together. I'd like to enquire, would this problem be solved if glycerin is applied, as a glue? You have inspired me to learn melt and pour! Thank you😁😁👏👏👍👍
Beautiful! I have the exact same molds but mine fill up with 1,400 kgs no 1,096 kgs and I was wondering if yours fill up to the very top or is it just how it looks o the screen? About how much do yours weight? Mine gives 10 at 4.5 oz each but using 1,400 kilograms.
Thank you so much! Mines are 128grams no wonder the math doesn't work on mines. But oddly enough, mines never fill up unless I use a 1,5 kgrams. I´ll have to make then shorter. :)
I hope you see this. Could you tell me the measurements of the silicone mold you use and how many 100grs soaps you get out of it approximately? Loving your stuff, btw. Learning a lot and I hope I can put it all to good use. So much imagination needed.
There is a link to the mold that I use in this video, its in the description. silicone mould inner dimension 245x56x70mm L x W x H wood casing inner size 253x60x68mm L x W x H I found my mold 1kg holds 1090 grams.
you'va calculated the beginning 90 grams, but i think that you could also measure the layer you pour after the heart is set in....say 300 grams, then start the second layer with 300 grams and finish with the 90grams... your heart might sink though, maybe it needs to be colder/ticker then...I dunno, just thinking out loud ;-) i love the look of this anyway
+Dean Wilson (SentinelCandles) wouldn't you say that it's an extra precaution worth doing to be sure? or do you think the alcohol is enough? I ask because I am not nearly as experienced as you and I wondered if I'm wasting my time. that turned out lovely btw.
+Kelley Spartiatis This loaf that I made was a test, I had no idea if it was going to work. But the rubbing alcohol was enough to bond them together. Its not always the case to work but most of the time the RA is enough by itself. Its all trial and error. If scratching works for you by all means keep doing it. :)
Whenever I melt the soap base (glycerin or goat milk) for 30 seconds, after I take it out from microwave, I keep stirring it continuously - but within few seconds it starts solidifying again (like into thick cream and then becomes hard) In your video, nothing happens even for a minute after you take out your melted soap base - any solution for mine? Help needed I love watching your videos! Thanks in advance! ☺️
I dont use a microwave. I use a aluminium pouring pot which holds the heat from the water its boiled in. My base gets to about 145F when I take it out of the crock pot. Sorry, not sure about microwave heat.
Hi Dean I'm a new going to be anyway NEW soap maker. What was your first project? How did it turn out? What would you suggest for my first soap melt and pour? I've got a huge amount of supplies so I think I'm ready! Thanks
You mean the heart mold? I think 130 grams. I filled it right to the top when once I removed it (when set) I weight it and worked out how much I would need.
