Yes. I think exactly the same - this has that 80-s approach and I love that so much because its so cool to travel back-forth in time. Off course its not pure 80-s - and that shows respect to the legacy we have. These wonderful women do not try to look edgy. They dress with respect to fashion legacy. They play with respect to the metal godfathers. And they connect with modern and young people in the crowd. This builds a bridge between all generations.
This band is bringing back old style metal like a mix of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. They have a ton of great songs. When Destines Align is a song you should check out for sure.

Hey, nice reaction! They use the white dresses exactly because they are small, it makes them stand out and the stage can sometime be very dark, it helps with that. This is one of the best metal bands out there today, and i dont mean just female or just from Japan, i mean male or female worldwide. Loudwire magazine just came out with the best metal songs of 2020 list and guess who's in it? These ladies, thats right. Try Break the Wall, Holy War, Edge of the World, Thunder Vengeance, Swan Song, Epilogue, all Live. These girls kill it Live. They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan for awhile, going back to 1981, ie., before Metallica). Miho (bass) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (Drums), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. They have only been around for about 4 years, and have already toured with Dragonforce and won a lot of awards. Next time around, DF will be opening for THEM. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all--this was just a hint. You liked the shredders--One of their strengths is that Midori and Miyako are actually so different in style and tone, which makes their interplay. all the more powerful. Midori is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion and pinch harmonics. They can both smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band together." @@ChrisPage68 😆 I think Dragonforce already got the message (in a very admiring way, they clearly love the girls, and Herman Li even dressed up as one of them); the comparison between "Aces High" and "The Crusade" should be enough to make it clear to anyone else. A covers album seems unlikely, but have you been following Nemophila? They've been posting covers of a huge range of bands, and absolutely crushing all of them. It's a benchmark for Japanese virtuosity.
@@ChrisPage68 Your milage may vary, but the problem with Lovebites doing covers is that they pretty much smoke everybody else in the songwriting department as well. Why play some other bands' songs when yours are better from the start?

Metal/Rock incredible talent insane every member I’m obsessed with how great these gals are! This old metal head has them along with Unleash the Archers, & of course Nightwish on my bucket list to see them live in concert before I go to that great metal/ rock show in the sky! The band is formed 2016 in Tokyo from ex Destrose band members Miho the bassist and composer ( she is the band leader) and Haruna the drummer ( she is the top female drummer in power metal at the moment). The other members are Asami the vocalist and songwriter, Midori the lead guitarist and backing vocals with the blonde hair and Miyako the other lead guitarist, pianist and composer( by the way both guitarists Midori and Miyako are one of the best female metal guitarists in the world at the moment too). Lovebites are the winners of 2018 in category for best new metal band. Their last album Electric pentagram is nominated for one of the best 20 metal albums for 2020 year. They are influenced by 80s metal. At the moment Lovebites are the best all female power metal band in the world. Once in interview Miho the bassist mentioned- we are here to make something memorable. They want to step closer to their inspiration bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Halloween, Metallica and Slayer. Remember the line from Star Wars? "There is another." There are dozens of Japanese all-female rock, punk and metal bands, many of them outstanding. But there is one at the apex, along with Lovebites: Band-Maid. They are more classic rock than metal, but mash in jazz, funk, samba, and a metal edge, and they slay. @@hiawatha.g Lovebites, clearly. They have the commercial potential due to singing in English. But with "Different", I think we have a tantalising glimpse of a new, harder Band-Maid. That can only be a good thing.
@@ChrisPage68 love them both. I think the audience for the harder stuff is limited, though; Musically, Band-Maid cover a broader range of styles and are more accessible. For me its like having to choose between two of my limbs!

Lovebites is outstanding and yes they gave the stage power of the best 70s rockers. It's one thing to do a great job on video (Daria Zaritskaya who covers that material ) another to go live. If you like female fronted retro sounds, try Lilliac - start with Mars (live) Cummings, GA show. Also Starcrawler, straight from the 70s... Basically everyone complaining that the 60s to 80s were the best music ... There is stuff just as good being done now, and some covers of those older songs are now so good you'll forget the original.

Bringing justice to the wicked! I think a skill that is unrated is naming things. They excel at this I mean Electric Pentagram, Clockwork Immortality, Shadowmaker, just names alone you want to at least check it out

They remind you of old classic metal? They're supposed to. They are heavily influenced by NWOBHM bands, like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. Classic 80s power metal, mixed with some thrash. This song easily could have been on an Anthrax album. Some things about them though: 1. You guessed it, they're short. I want to say that either Midori (the purple ESP) is the tallest, at around 5' 3". Haruna (the drummer) is 4' 9"! 2. Because of #1, they wear white. Why? it makes them stand out. If you went to any other show, you'd see bands either in jeans or wearing black. If LoveBites did that, you'd never see them, because they'd be swallowed up by all of the other equipment on the stage. Wearing white makes them stand out. 3. You don't have to dress trashy to play/be metal. If Motley Crue brought sleaze to metal, and then things just went trashy from there, these girls are saying the exact opposite. You can look beautifully elegant and still play metal. They can play and sing like Bruce Dickinson, yet carry a Louis Vuitton purse at the same time. 4. You can find your favorite band from back then, and LoveBites will easily take them on and do it better... in HEELS. You'll enjoy going down this rabbit hole. If you react to them more, I'd suggest either Thunder Vengeance or Holy War (from this same concert, Five Of a Kind).
If you like this, you're going to love BAND MAID, another japanese all-female metal band. I recommend trying their song "Freedom" for your first experience ^_-
This was musically great, but I have to admit... I can't really take Japanese seriously as a language for metal. I've watched way too much anime for that.
