Yeah, this is one you don’t forget you’ve seen, especially when you realize Miyako is playing the keyboard and guitar at the same time. I can’t rub my tummy and pat my head at the same time 🤣🤣
Any Lovebites fan owes it to themselves to watch the whole concert this performance is from (the abyss). It is a flawless piece of art that is one of the best musical sets I have ever seen. Top of the line talent at top of the line performance. Crank it to 11! 🤘🤘🐺
LOVEBITES - Burden Of Time lyrics: Sleepless nights, with every passing day I'm dreaming life away Faceless moon, tell me, what would you say If you could curse your fate The daylight will die Silent noise is ringing in my head Killing me through the night Scars might fade, but the pain will remain Save me before the dawn As days go by I'm standing here Still fighting it One day I must change (Don't waste your time) Time is fair to everyone (Don't waste your life) Time and tide wait for no one Don't ever be afraid to die young and live fast (Don't waste your time) Time is slipping away from us (Don't waste your life) Time keeps changing, and so do we Live as if today was the last day SOLO: mi-ya Starless nights, with every passing day I'm swinging life away An empty glass is falling down again What's happening in my life? The blood stains remain Flames will ignite Searching for the light In this time In due time SOLO: mi-ya / midori / both I'm standing here Still fighting it One day I must change (Don't waste your time) Time is fair to everyone (Don't waste your life) Time and tide wait for no one Don't ever be afraid to die young and live fast (Don't waste your time) Time will never be the same (Don't waste your life) Time is running out too soon Racing against the clock But we can't escape from tomorrow (Don't waste your time) Time is slipping away from us (Don't waste your life) Time keeps changing, and so do we Live as if today was the last day ----- lyrics: miho music: miho & Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) & Mao from Awakening From Abyss 2017
I fell in love with Japanese music in the 1960’s. And it’s been an expensive hobby for years. Ordering tapes and cd’s from Japan and waiting months for them to arrive was a challenge. RU-vid has given me a portal to the music that’s priceless. This is my favorite LOVEBITES track….it showcases the group as a unit, highlighted by the ladies singing harmony. And you could set the atomic clock to Miho and Haruna’s playing. Thank you for continuing to supporting the bands from Japan. Look forward to each an$ every review.
When I first saw this song performed, I was surprised that Miyako played both piano and guitar at the same time. Her brain can process so many things at once! Marvelous! Thank you for the reaction!

Thanks for your reaction. 'Burden of Time' (lyrics-Miho / music-Miho, Mao) is another masterpiece from LOVEBITES. Besides everything else I like about the songs LOVEBITES, 'Burden of Time' has very beautiful backing vocals. And, of course, the skill of Miyako, who plays keyboards and guitar ... at the same time!
I like this song a lot on it's own but yes, being able to see it played Live is always a treat, especially when Miyako starts playing two instruments at once! I've really enjoyed very performance I've seen of these studio recordings! I'll be 60 soon and RU-vid has been an absolute treasure in my life for further pursuing my passions....completely agree with your comments!🤘
I've been drafting an article on Lovebites, and I used exactly the word you just used: "Apex". That is exactly what they are. Thanks for your continuing to feature them.
speaking of elton - we saw him play in the old n.e. patriots foxboro stadium on the bicentennial - july 4th 1976 - he was decked out in a sequined red white and blue uncle sam suit with a matching stovepipe hat and his trademark shorts. he played for over 3 hours - every hit he had up until that point - and may be the best live show i ever saw. JETHRO TULL and THE POLICE concerts ran a close second.
I know, Right? Blew me away. I saw him maybe 7 years after you in the Midwest at an indoor stadium. I wouldn't have gone but a certain long haired redhead batted her eyes and said, "Will you go with me?" and I sighed, "Ohhh Kaaaayyy." Best concession I ever made! lol. What a show!
You're absolutely right RC. Even with all its inherent flaws, I would not have found Lovebites 4+ years ago if not for YT. BTW, not sure if you noticed Miyako playing keyboards AND guitar (hammering the frets) at the same time during Midori's solo. She is that sort of a generational talent.
@@RockCandy-ix3nn Your reply to this comment lends support to my thoughts that were not as attentive as usual during this song. It is unique in many ways, true to Miho's title "Burden Of Time" it has many timing changes throughout, deliberately un-even cuts in parts, the transition for Midori's solo still boggles my mind, her solo even being in 'free-time' until she and Miyako harmonize "twin solo" with Miyako playing keys-lead & hammering guitar-chords while Midori plays the duet on guitar, all in an effort to convey the lyrical subject of the significance of "time" (& timing). I was actually kinda stunned that you considered it a rather 'generic' rock song. For me it is anything-but 'generic' and is another more-or-less "hidden gem" of their catalogue and another example of Miho's unique contributions. I imagine few 'rock bands' are capable of playing this complex composition. I am looking forward to your "explain in tonight's video" (another LOVEBITES song? &:-) dreg👁
@@dregeye No offense was meant Dreg. I obviously consider Lovebites anything but "Generic" in their approach to anything they do. It was, perhaps, a poor choice of words and I think you heard me walk that back just a bit. Still, if it hit you this way it probably did others as well so I will endeavor to elucidate in the next video.
another song that should have caused a flash fire in the studio during recording. i hope you still have the official mv for 'when destinies align' in your list of future reactions because speaking of fire ......... !
I hear ya loud and clear, when I first fell in love with rock music we lived in a large city with multiple radio stations of different genres. Then we moved to rural Texas close to the border and there were no radio stations of rock music only Mexican and Tejano music so the only way I was able to check out any rock band was by going to the music store and buying the albums and at that time I was in the Junior High School and began my collection of many greats over the years. Lovebites are something very special for everyone's liking since they don't play one set style and genre of rock. since 2017 to date they have put out some amazing music that fits perfectly with what I grew up listening to, from classic rock to the heaviest thrash metal and everything in between.
I grew up in Dallas with a couple year stint in San Antonio so I had plenty to choose from. Still, I think about Top's song "Heard it on the X" and imagine that was cool - listening to a pirate radio station to get your guitar influences. lol

I wonder: have you noticed that Miyako plays guitar and keyboards at the same time? That said, we can never emphasize enough the primordial importance of Haruna in this group.
Ya radio play back in the day really sucked being a metal fan and if they did play it was usually cut., and to this day I don't listen to radio station music... Nothing worse than being forced to listen to 5 minutes of commercials then the same "todays hits choices"...
Point taken....but to be fair, When I saw him at the Texxas Jam in '78 he did it very close to the album. This was two months after the album came out and the memory includes everything surrounding that performance as well. Still, I thought about how I could still dial up an "Eruption" performance whenever I want so - touche.
