One of the most musically talented rock bands on the planet. When you factor in Miyako's skills on the piano (not shown in this video of course), you could argue they might be THE most musically talented.
Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing. In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." "Liebeserklärung an den klassischen Metal" trifft es perfekt! Ich behaupte jetzt mal, dass es derzeit keine andere Metalband gibt, welche dieselbe Spannbreite an verschiedenen Stilarten des "old school" Metal der 80er Jahre auf demselben spielerischen und kompositorischen Niveau wie Lovebites abdeckt. Als jemand, dessen Lieblingsgenre Thrash Metal ist ("Fight Fire With Fire" 1984 erstmals im Radio auf BFBS zu hören, war damals gewissermaßen eine musikalische Offenbarung), schließe ich mich insbesondere den Empfehlungen von "Set the World on Fire" (davon gibt's nur einen Liveclip, so dass man nichts falsch machen kann) und "Break the Wall" (jemand hat bereits den Link zur besten Liveversion aus 2020 vom selben Konzert wie "Holy War" gepostet) an und füge noch "The Hammer of Wrath" (nebst Intro "The Awakening") hinzu, vorzugsweise ebenfalls die Liveversion aus 2020, wobei diejenige vom Wackenauftritt 2018 auch ihren Charme hat. Das aggressivste Riffing dürfte wohl in dem bislang nur als Audioclip verfügbaren Song "Dissonance" vom aktuellen Album "Judgement Day" zu hören sein. Empfehlenswert sind übrigens auch die Pianoarrangements von 6 Songs aus dem Metal/Hard Rock-Bereich, welche die schwarzhaarige Lovebites-Gitarristin Miayko vor kurzem auf einer EP veröffentlicht hat, insbesondere von Helloweens "Eagle Fly Free" (dazu gibt es auf dem offiziellen Lovebites-Kanal auch einen Videoclip) sowie Metallicas "Battery".

The girls made their major label debut in 2017 (March 24) with "THE LOVEBITES EP". On 18 June 2018, LOVEBITES won 'BEST NEW BAND' at the Metal Hummer Golden Gods 2018 awards organised by the British metal magazine METAL HUMMER. On 4 August, LOVEBITES performed on the W.E.T stage at WACKEN OPEN AIR 2018, one of the world's largest annual metal festivals in Germany, with the 10,000 capacity venue almost full. "Bloodstack open air 2018(Aug. 10)" also participated. On August 20,2018, LOVEBITES announced that it has partnered with X-ray Touring, one of the largest players in the UK booking agent industry. LOVEBITES toured the Netherlands, Germany, France and UK from November 13-21, 2018. They're amazing. I definitely recommend checking out some more. They don't just do power metal as shown here. They also do speed, thrash, and progressive. The 2021 live performance of this song I think shows more of their personalities, but it was a Covid restricted show, so far less audience reaction. I recommend checking that out as well, but since you reacted to this one, maybe on your own time. As you get to know their personalities, they are really pretty fascinating to watch on stage, but I think I am somewhat enamored of them lol.

Hoffen wir , dass Lovebites in naher Zukunft zu uns kommen werden ! Für die Freunde des klassischen Rocks ist die Band Whiskey Dust zu empfehlen. Auf RU-vid haben sie leider relativ wenige Besucher, aber wer die Stimme von Sängerin Aya und den speziellen Gitarrensound von Gitarristin Erika Van Halen( naja ) gehört hat, wird vielleicht weiter interessiert sein.
Sie spielen bewusst 80er-Jahre-Metal in fast all seinen Varianten (klassischer Metal à la Maiden/Priest, Thrash, Powermetal, ein bisschen Hardrock und ein paar Balladen), bzw. das war mehr oder weniger der Stil, als sie angefangen haben. Das haben sie auf den letzten beiden Alben und der EP dazwischen angefangen zu modernisieren in Richtung mehr Härte und mehr BPM, so dass ihr heutiger Hauptstil (neben dem sie die älteren Stile aber immer noch ein bisschen pflegen) ein in der Regel sehr schneller und teils durchaus ziemlich harter Powermetal mit Thrasheinflüssen ist. Sie haben 2016 angefangen, die Bassistin, die du hier siehst (Miho) hat 2021 die Band verlassen, dafür ist ein junges Basswunderkind namens Fami hinzugestoßen. Die anderen Mitglieder heißen: Asami - Gesang Miyako - Gitarre, Piano, Keyboard (schwarzhaarig) Midori - Gitarre und Bodybuilding (hier noch nicht so deutlich zu sehen, blond) Haruna - Drums

Habe LOVEBITES (benannt nach dem Song von Halestorm) durch 'Reactions' vor 2 Jahren kennengelernt und konnte es nicht fassen, dass der angestaubte Metal noch einmal so aufleben kann. Die Damen von LOVEBITES haben es wirklich drauf! Wenn Du es etwas härter möchtest, das können sie auch. Mein Vorschlag "Break the Wall" oder "The Hammer of Wrath" natürlich live, werden dich überzeugen.
Du hast vollkommen recht. Jeder ihrer mehr als 60 Songs ist eine pure Liebeserklärung an den klassischen Metal der 80er Jahre. So schön hat es noch niemand formuliert 👍🏻 Dabei spielen sie alles von Power, Speed, Thrash, Hard Rock, bis hin zu Balladen. Aber mischen auch Elemente klassischer Musik in manche Songs. Die dunkelhaarige Gitarristin Miyako ist eine ebenso gute Pianistin und „zitiert“ in ihrem Songwriting auch mal die eine oder andere klassische Komposition. Vielleicht ist dir auch der weiße Flügel auf ihrer Seite der Bühne aufgefallen? Lovebites waren bereits 2018 in Wacken und haben dort das Publikum im Sturm erobert. Davon gibt es auch einen Mitschnitt, wie sie am letzten Tag mittags vor vollem Haus auf einer kleineren Bühne (ca. 10.000 von denen vermutlich vorher die wenigsten etwas von ihnen gehört haben) abgerockt haben. Mich haben sie vor gut 2 Jahren im Sturm erobert, tatsächlich auch über eine YT Reaction dieses Songs. Seit dem sind sie zu meiner absoluten Lieblingsband geworden 🤘🏼🎸🎤🥁🎹❤️ Jetzt hoffen allen Fans weltweit, wir nennen uns Wolfpack 🐺, dass sie 2024 auf Welttournee gehen. In Japan bist Du ja mittlerweile gut unterwegs. Wagakki Band und Asterism fehlen u.a. noch aber gut. Was mehr fehlt ist die beste Classic Rock Band: "The Warning" - 3 Schwestern aus Mexico. Go! Fast egal was, Hauptsache Live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX ! Ich empfehle Disciple oder Animosity für den Start....Go!
Kann ich ebenfalls sehr empfehlen! Habe sie dieses Jahr bei Rock im Park gesehen bzw. habe mir extra für sie das Festival Ticket gekauft. Das Konzert war mega, auch wenn sie dort leider nur 30 Minuten bekommen haben. Spielzeit wird dort halt leider nicht nach Qualität der Band vergeben. Auch wenn sie noch nicht so bekannt sind, bin ich mir sicher, dass sie auch auf der großen Bühne viele neue Fans gewonnen hätten. Schließlich sind sie im letzter Zeit nicht einfach so schon Support Act von Foo Fighters, GNR, Muse, Three Days Grace, Stone Temple Pilots, Sammy Haggar und Halestorm gewesen … So hohe Qualität bekommt man jedenfalls live äußerst selten zu sehen 🤘🏼🎸🥁🎤 Super Songs, Texte mit Inhalt, sehr gut live vorgetragen, spitzen Sound und mega Stimmung …
der videoton könnte etwas lauter, ansonsten. gute analyse. diese band ist wirklich etwas anderes. ihr rabbit hole ist sehr tief und in ihrem backkatalog von rund 60 tracks findest du keinen mittelmäßigen oder schlechten finden. etwas härter? vieleicht "soldier stands solitary" von ihrem aktuellen album "judgement day". quick edit: grad gesehen, dass du hanabie und nemophila schon kennengelernt hattest, insoweit war mein hinweis überflüssig.

Sehr schönes und positives Reaktionvideo. Da freuen wir uns, wir lustigen Lovebites Fans. Es ist mir ein Rätsel wie man so leise guten Heavy Metal hören kann. Na ja es ist wohl wie mit dem Geschmack bei Musik, was wirkliche Härte ist, darüber kann man auch unterschiedlicher Meinung sein. Ist Härte in Rock/Metal, Bands mit Wikinger Aussehen mit Teufels oder Clownsmasken, die Musik schnell, monoton und ohne jegliche Melodie im Blackened Brutal Death Metal Stil spielen ? Oder die Härte der japanischen Frauen, welche im 5. Monat der Schwangerschaft 2 Stunden Speed/Thrash Metal Shows spielen (Lovebites), oder im 8. Monat der Schwangerschaft in USA eine OpenAir Festivalshow (Nemophila) spielen ? Ob wir heutigen Deutschen die richtigen sind um zu klären was wirkliche Härte ist, bezweifele ich. Ich schließe mich da gerne ein. Das "härteste" was LOVEBITES spielen ist Thrashmetal im Stil von Metallica oder Slayer. Im Unterschied zu denen sind die Lovebites Frauen aber jung, schnell und unverbrauchter. Höre dir diese LOVEBITES Songs gerne mal an, es wäre sehr interessant zu erfahren ob sie "hart" genug sind für den Geschmack deiner Musikergeneration. Meist begann ihre Musikausbildung im Kindesalter meist mit Piano. Eine Musikausbildung in Japan ist etwas anderes als Blockflöte oder Melodica spielen und seinen Namen tanzen können. Alle können Noten lesen und deshalb haben z.B- bei Lovebites alle Mitglieder Songs komponiert. Ich habe japanische Frauen Heavy Metal live vom Notenständer spielen sehen. Als junge Mädchen ziehen sie oft in Großstädte wie Osaka oder Tokio und müssen dann in zahlreichen Bands spielen um sich über Wasser zu halten und um die teuren Mieten zahlen zu können. Da wohnt keine bis 40 bei Papa und Mama um anschließend Harz 4 zu beantragen. So entstehen dort Musiker und vor allem Musikerinnen wie es sie bei uns schon lange nicht mehr gibt. Viele der Frauen von Band Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila und Aldious sind verheiratet und haben eines oder mehrere Kinder. Miku die Bandleaderin von Band Maid hat zwei Kinder und lebt mit ihrem Mann auf einer Farm im Norden Japans. Soweit ich es richtig mitgekriegt habe lebt auch ihre Mama und Oma mit dort. Diese Frauen sind keine naiven Girlies mein Freund. Ich habe den größten Respekt vor diesen großartigen Powerfrauen und Musikerinnen.
Das meiste was Du geschrieben hast unterschreib ich so, aber wo in aller Welt hast Du denn her, dass Miku 2 Kinder haben soll? Die Band ist jetzt seit 10 Jahren ununterbrochen mit Auftritten, Promotion, Touren unterwegs, wann soll sie die denn gekriegt haben?
@@UltraHD.7 Man darf nicht glauben so viele hübsche junge Frauen leben über 10,15, 20 Jahre ohne Freund oder Mann und hätten keinen Wunsch nach Kindern ? Leben wie die Beatles 1962 zusammen in einer Wohnung und machen den ganzen Tag Musik und Quatsch ? Dieses Band Maid Ding kommt von den Maid Cafes, Miku spielt auf der Bühne eine Rolle. Es ist im Gunde genommen japanisches Theater oder Komödie, po. Viele Europäer und noch mehr Amerikaner verstehen das nicht. Miku ist die Cousine von der Sängerin Saiki. Miku hat sicher an die 6/7 Motorräder und mehrer Roller. Sie macht daraus auch kein Geheimnis, denn man kann das alles auf ihrer Facebookseite sehen. Es gibt sicher 10 gefakte Facebookseiten aber auch eine echte. Man merkt es direkt wenn man sich auf dieser Seite umsieht. Wenn du dort Follower wirst kannst du fast täglich ihre Shortcuts sehen. Themen dort sind oft Motorradfahren, Familie und wenn sie auf Tour sind tagesaktuelle Dinge. Die Frau ist hochintelligent, studiert und wirklich ein interessanter Mensch.
@@gitterich wo habe ich bitte behauptet ich würde denken sie hätten keine Beziehungen? Natürlich haben sie die, das sind alles Frauen um die 30, also unterstell mir nicht irgendeinen Käse. Was ich aber konkret gefragt habe ist, woher Du diese Info über Miku haben willst, also nenn mir bitte die Quelle, sprich die Facebook-Seite von der Du sprichst. Vorher glaub ich nämlich nach wie vor kein Wort von deinen Behauptungen.
@@UltraHD.7 Du hast recht. Ich habe dich persönlich angeschrieben, das war aber nicht meine Absicht. Ich habe den Text inzwischen mehr ins "allgemeine" abgeändert. Sorry, ich dachte auch nicht hier bei einer deutschen Reaktion viele zu finden welche Band Maid kennen. Ich kann dir hier keinen Link legen zu Facebook. Das erlaubt RU-vid nicht. Ich wurde von YT in der Vergangenheit bereits mehrmals verwarnt und kann mir hier nichts mehr erlauben. Aber du kannst die Facebookseite von ihr finden wenn du ein Facebookkonto hast, dich einloggst und in der Suchfunktion Miku Kobato (in jp. Schriftzeichen) eingibst. Es ist keine Fanfacebookseite wie du sie über die Google Suche findest. Du erkennst die Facebookseite an einem großen Profilbild. Miku ist dort von hinten fotografiert worden mit der Gitarre in der Hand während sie auf ein großes Openair Publikum blickt. Ich bin überrascht, dass das bei vielen "langjährigen" Fans nicht bekannt zu sein scheint.
@@gitterich Also ich denke ich habe die von Dir genannte Seite gefunden, 小鳩ミク, und ich muss Dir sagen, NIEMALS im Leben ist das ihre eigene. Wie kommst Du darauf??? Corona-Leugnung, Medien-Beschimpfung, alles in einwandfreiem Englisch. Sie ist also auch noch Lehrerin nebenher. Die ganze Seite besteht aus einer Ansammlung von Bildern von Miku, die jeder jederzeit im Internet finden kann mit irgendwelchen (Un-)Sinnsprüchen kommentiert. Also wenn das die Seite ist, die Du meinst (mit dem Titelbild von hinten vom Konzert), dann muss ich dich glaub ich enttäuschen, niemals ist die von ihr selbst, sondern nur eines von unzähligen Fake-Profilen. Deswegen kennen das auch logischerweise die "langjährigen" Fans nicht. Also solltest Du den ganzen Unsinn mit den Kindern, der Farm im Norden Japans und der Cousine Saiki vielleicht noch mal überdenken. Nichts ist den Bandmitgliedern heiliger als ihr Privatleben, keine von Ihnen würde jemals solche Dinge von sich frei im Internet preisgeben.
