What I love about the guitar duet in this song is the contrasting roles of the two guitarists. Midori keeps taking her solos into new and untested ground, experimenting with her technique and sounds before handing it back to Miyako who persistently brings the song back into familiar and traditional territory; returning it to the melody and the hook until Midori goes off on a new tangent. It's an extraordinary showcase of the chemistry and understanding between these two artists.

This concert was given in honor of the third anniversary of the release of the first album LOVEBITES "Awakening from Abyss" ( Japan ,October 25, 2017) Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they could not perform as usual in the concert hall. Therefore, the entire concert, which was released later on DVD / Blue ray called "Awake Again - Live from Abyss", was given in the studio and broadcast live ( Internet) . At the concert from the studio, LOVEBITES performed in the same order all the songs from the album "Awakening from Abyss" plus the song "Eagle Fly free"(HELLOWEEN cover)

It's known as "The Battle of Tokoyo", and conducted by Asami with a spare drum stick! Although not as well mixed as this version, it's an amazing performance. As mentioned in other comments, it's almost impossible to get hold of this bluray, the only one I don't have from their collection. I'd pay dearly for it, but not the $US600 being asked by one seller on eBay. Victor Entertainment is sitting on a commercial gold mine, just re-release the thing guys! I'm in Australia and have shelled out my hard earned to acquire their other BluRays & CDs since discovering this amazing band, and I'm sure I'm not alone. And that also vindicates the reaction channels, the publisher can turn this into revenue simply by spreading the word to a new, worldwide audience. Thanks for this reaction, it was a gem.

You just witnessed one of the most intense minute and a half guitar duels in the business. Their live concert version is perhaps even more intense because of the crowd energy fueling them.

This is why this is in my top 5 favorites! If anyone questions that M&M are not among the best duo guitarists out there, just tell them to watch this.

You should watch them play this song live.....guitars solo's battle Midori and Miyako.....

This is definitely my favorite version of this song. In the version from "Daughters of the Dawn," Asami gets a bit screechy and Midori tries crossing her hands for a solo and doesn't fully pull it off. I guess it proves they're mortal after all. I have an, ahem, "unofficial digital version" of this show as it was a print-on-demand whose production window ended right before I became aware of LB's existence. It's a great show from start to finish.

It will always be up at the top of my list. I just love guitars. And the rolling drum & bass lines under all those solo's is sublime. So glad you finally got around to it. We all knew you would love it. But if you ever get the chance, please have a look at the live version from the 'Daughters of Dawn- live in Tokyo 2019'. Not for a reaction, (although that would be great) but just for your own appreciation. It really is something else.

Scream For Me - Daughters of the Dawn live is even better. You should check out that version first but ok. This song is a shredding madness of M & M duo. Gotta love it

Is this studio live Helloween cover " Eagle fly Free" on your reaction list? Very nice cover, Asami's vocals are very good as well as each part's solo and Haruna's solo.

This song is simply incredible. I thought When Destinies Align had a great solo run, but the end of this song is in another stratosphere. I don't play guitar, but what amazes me the most is how seamless Miyako and Midori do handoffs. I mean one has solo duties and the other carries the riff, and then in the smoothest possible way, one hands off the solo duties to the other while instantly picking up and keeping the riff going. There are no better dual leads in the business today, and I will argue they are the best guitar dual leads in the history of metal.

lots of comments already, may have been mentioned but, at Miyako's solo, about 10:00 (your vid) it occurred to me that maybe they have Midori 'mixed' right and Miyako left because that is how they performed all these songs for 2+years (?) Wondered why changed from DotD & Foak shows. I love this performance & video & audio. Haruna breaks the 'forth wall' several times and Miyako at least once. A very unique way to honor their first full CD release, to perform it 'as if' we put "Awakening From Abyss" on the player and hit "play" only we get to WATCH them make this amazing music. LMAO, great react and YES, they are the best in the biz especially when it comes to going back and forth! Love you did the studio version, obviously the live is great to. They can't put new music out quick enough...I am dying for them to come to the states, if they play a couple big gigs / arenas, they will implode the metal scene in this country and we need it!! When you were repeating the individual solos I thought “how’s he going to cope with the ending”. 😂 Imagine that this was on the 4 track debut EP. Someone commented that it was an adaptation of a song from Miyako’s previous band, but don’t quote me on it. The original ending wasn’t as epic. The re-recording for Awakening from Abyss has just been played for you note for note. That said, there’s nothing like listening to it played in the raw.
