An unusual way to see them delivering: Casually clothed, like "ladies next door", chitchatting in the breaks, having tons of fun while practicing. That is the way it has got to be. Making world class music, together as friends. I would not be surprised in the least, if they actually changed instruments in their live shows. And be it for some fun jam.
I have seen several reactions to this song and only a couple of reactors mentioned the shenanigans. Most just seemed to be oblivious to the instruments being swapped around. I noticed that the first time I watched the video. So cool seeing Lovebites let their hair down. Miyako does know how to play drums and looked very competent. Midori has the moves to be a lead singer. Such a blast with Lovebites shenanigans. This song will be a live staple for years.
it's funny to see Miyako in her own world outside the group she is very sweet and funny smiles and laughs a lot and she can be such a nerd especially when star wars or some of her many pets is being discussed
"Kick the door down" and deliver. They are certainly delivering. I have never been the biggest fan of Lovebites (too many power chords for my taste) but they really stepped up their game with this album. They delivered.
I’m in total agreement with you regarding Asami’s vocals. Her enunciation has improved, given how difficult it is for a Japanese person. She has a more powerful, grittier sound too. She gave birth since all previous recordings and I suspect hormones play a part. Woefully under the radar, as are the whole band. Fami has energised the band, and also, dare I say it, a cloud has been lifted because Haruna said in an interview that Miho’s heart wasn’t in it for a long time before she finally left.
I always enjoy your reactions. You guys seem to really know your stuff and identify what Lovebites is all about. I hope you can continue promoting Lovebites and supporting this band. The girls deserve so much more attention than they are currently getting.
Hello gentlemen! To me, this entire album is a statement - "we're back and we're better than ever." I totally agree that Asami has leveled up for this album. Not only has her enunciation improved, but her voice just seems clearer and more powerful. Miyako took the time during their hiatus to work on her speed - she's almost as fast as Midori now. Miyako also seems to be working on her own personal brand. She"s taking English lessons, has re-opened her RU-vid channel again with English subtitles, and will be releasing a solo EP later this month. On the EP, she has taken well known metal songs and arranged them for classical piano. She released a music video for her playing Helloween's "Eagle Fly Free" and it is breathtaking. You can find it on Lovebites' RU-vid channel. I'll wait patiently now for your next Lovebites reaction😁 Stay safe, and peace!
This song is special because it is the first time that Miyako and Asami have cowritten the music to a Lovebites song. In fact it is the first time that Miyako has truly cowritten a Lovebites song with anyone. The music for Break The Wall is credited to both Miho and Miyako, but Miho wrote about two-thirds of the song before handing it off to Miyako to finish and arrange. Miyako has composed about two dozen Lovebites songs and she worked alone on all of them. Prior to Miho's departure the musical brains behind the band were Miyako, Mao and Miho. With the new album, Judgement Day, it appears that Asami has stepped in for Miho. Asami cowrote four of the songs and wrote the lyrics to all ten songs. When you add in her great vocals, Asami is the star of the new album. I have probably said this in a previous comment, but it needs repeating - I agree that Asami's vocals have improved greatly the last several years and a big reason is her work with an American named Ayako Kawai. Ayako is a singer/songwriter, born and raised in Maryland. She worked some in NYC before moving to Tokyo. In Tokyo, she helps both artists and business people with the English language. Asami started working with her sometime in 2020 both with lyric translation (beginning with the Glory, Glory To The World EP) and English pronunciation. Asami's conversational English has also improved, although she is not at the level of Saki, the guitarist for Nemophila. Ayako recently wrote the lyrics for 3 songs (composed by Mao) on the debut album of the band Lonesome_Blue.
Lovebites are always happy in what they're doing and togetherness. Only a temporary sad moment when Miho left. IMO Midori and Asami are the funnier characters amongst them that cheer up in what ever situation😊👍
For me, Haruna is the most enchanting, most tactful mega engine of a drummer, that any band worldwide could wish for, but she founded Lovebites (together with Miho) - bad luck, very, very bad luck for all the other music groups on earth! What a musician, what a drummer, what energy and perseverance! Course, this is Haruna!
In my opinion, this song is the best example of how awesome Lovebites are at modernizing 80's metal/hard rock music. This song in particular adds more hard rock flavor than any other song I've heard from them. Fami's Motorhead like opening is awesome. This is one of the most fun music videos I have ever seen. The "dressing down", the switching of instruments, in the studio, just a blast. I agree with the "kicking down the doors" aspect of their new album. And with Fami, Miho never got this kind of attention in the music and music videos. Miho is an awesome old school metal bassist, whereas Fami can play in that way but also adds much more technicality to her playing. If you follow them on social media, they are a family, five "sisters" doing what they love most, and they seem to love each others company. This music video just shows that for those who don't follow them. Asami's voice has most definitely got better with the album Judgement Day. Fami was the perfect little sister addition to the band. "Pure Joy" - 100%. "Distinct Personalities" - 100%. Very much enjoyed your reaction to this song, and you didn't need to even say anything - your smiles said everything I needed to know about your feelings.
They were already at such a rarified level that it's crazy that they could level up, yet that's what they have done. I agree with you, they wanted to make a point and kick the doors down. The entire new album is astonishing in its intensity.
Hello Asaf and Itai! Lovebites never disappoints! Every Lovebites song is really different! "Stand and Deliver" is really cool song! Haruna almost always smiling and sing together with Asami (but not into a microphone). Thank you for your reaction! It was interesting! More Lovebites on the channel!
Thank you for your reaction to LOVEBITES. Keep LOVEBITES in your future. 【From an interview with Asami(Vo) and Fami(Ba) for a magazine project in Japan】 When Covid19 subsided and the audience was able to speak up, Asami thought it would be nice to have a song that everyone could sing, both on stage and in the audience. Asami wanted to use the sound of "river" in the lyrics, but thought it would be strange to use "river" as the chorus. Asami found "deliver" and thought it would be cool if everyone shouted it out instead of just telling what the word means. For many Japanese, pronouncing and hearing the English "r" and "l" is difficult. From there, Asami arrived at "stand and deliver. "Stand and deliver" is a pirate term that apparently means "Leave all your money!" Asami thought that if he wrote the lyrics as they were, it would be a song about a "pirate king. Asami wanted to avoid that. Asami learned that "deliver" can also mean "to carry out" or "to be free" in addition to "to deliver. Asami uses "Stand and deliver" with the following interpretation and meaning. Stand up and be free! Rise up and be free! Arise and be free! Let's get up and be free! From there, Asami put the following thoughts into the lyrics. Nothing satisfies me. It's boring to be like this every day! Let's go more bouncy! Let's be bold and do something different! Let's break out of our shell! P.S. The mic stand setting that Miyako(G-Piano-Black hair) used was too high for Asami(Vo). Haruna(Dr) imitated the guitar work of Miyako & Midori's solo performance of "Signs of Deliverence" at the live concert. Haruna may have been watching from the drum position and thought it was cool. Asami & Haruna is cute.
【Quotes from an interview with Miyako (G Key and Piano), Midori (G) and Haruna (Dr) for a magazine project.】 [Haruna] We recorded one by one. I usually have a high voice, but they asked me to sing in a low voice. It was easily OK'd." They said my voice sounded like a boy's." Midori has a very low voice, not quite a death voice." [Midori] I'm the one shouting in a much lower, dusky voice." Haruna sounded like a boy. She was shouting in a cool way, not in her usual kawaii voice."
Hi Asaf and Itai.. Welcome back to Lovebites.. So much talent in this band it's scary.. Chilled out and having fun in studio.; So much class with these ladies.. Can't get enough of them.. Another great reaction guys, best wishes from France
Thank you Asaf & Itai. Very enjoyable reaction, and analysis I find much agreement with. Very wise of LOVEBITES to release these two, "Judgement Day" & "Stand & Deliver" Music Videos that have significant contrast in music & presentation, giving 'newcomers' a broad spectrum of what they offer in just 2 songs. Having released about 50 songs prior to Fami becoming "5th Element" you still have an extensive catalogue to explore, each song with unique surprises and all worthy of repeat listening. The entire new album is PowerFUL, and takes me 'back' & 'forward' simultaneously! I think Itai's "time to mourn" comment is affirmed by their choice of 'all in black' for Fami's debut of "Bravehearted": ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_66Ug5c3aJo.html (embedded English lyrics. [cc] for other languages) I find their lyrics to consistently encourage self-empowerment & perseverance, embracing integrity, dignity, personal-responsibility & loving-unity. These qualities, beyond their music & performances, for all of us in our personal life & community. "Feel the shade that lays deep down in your soul, Already know the craziness hiding under that face" brings a 'self-examining-seriousness' to this joyful admonition to "Stand & Deliver". LOVEBITES is the catalyst that enhances my quest for fulfillment in many aspects of life-on-Earth. I want to thank you both again for honesty, openness, and your 'tech' efforts in 'producing' an excellent 'reaction channel'. Top-notch audio & video preservation of the artist's works, and balanced video presentation. I am sub'd for more LOVEBITES. 🐺
Lovebites is the best metal band I've heard in 43 years Motörhead has not lived in vain. Stand and deliver could be on a Motörhead album. Lemmy is probably sitting in heaven clapping his hands and thinking about whether he should form a Lovebites cover band up there. Fast" Eddie Clarke, Philthy Animal Tayler and Lemmy Kilmister R.I.P UP THE IRONS 🤘🤘
I think this is an homage to NWOBHM...I hear early Iron Maiden, Motörhead and Diamond Head. Lovebites are fantastic, they take their influences and make it their own!
The talent level from Japan is so often astonishing it makes it really hard to find anything that isn't suddenly among the best you've ever heard and a new top tier favorite, whatever the genre. I like very little power metal but the groups I do like were quickly joined by Lovebites. Good god, the talent, the skill, the compositions. Brilliant.
Great reaction guys . Especially loved the bit where they swap places and Itai is laughing and loving it while Asaf just looks confused 😍🤔 Looking forward to your reaction to Hi Ren 😉
The Wolfpack thanks you for another great reaction to Lovebites!! Best guess for the next reaction would be Ren - "Su!cide" since it just dropped yesterday. Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
"Stand & Deliver" was first time I saw one, then began giving more attention to the possibility in other performances and found it in the show, "Battle In The East" concert. Haruna has a vocal mic on a boom stand. At 5min 38sec it can be seen, pushed away, but positioned so as to 'swing' into alignment with her, possibly to talk, possibly to sing also.
Lovebites is cracking. I like their new album, especially the melodic songs grow better with each listen. Lost in the Garden is quickly becoming my favourite (with Judgement Day). Dark Moor - Silver Lake is another nice song band, melodic power metal (or fantasy metal) influenced by Blind Guardian
Rather than Power Metal or Thrash, this song sounds like Motörhead’s Ace of Spades. Here’s the best version, from the live album No Sleep ‘til Hammersmith - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a2DH0-GA_qY.html ASAMI sounds even better singing in Japanese on the original version of BRAVEHEARTED - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BbFXnzhJiiQ.html I most impressed by how they showed up for work before the sun came up.
"Haruna was concentrating and not laughing much"... Huh? It's probably your lack of observation. I have been paying attention to the changes in the members' facial expressions since the launch of LOVEBITES. Certainly, Haruna's expression was often serious for the next two to three years from 2016. However, the same is true for the other members (with the exception of Midori). And the smiles of each member increased in live performances after 2019. Haruna, in particular, is always smiling. At the Tokyo Dome City live in 2021, Haruna continued to play the drums with a fun and irresistible expression from beginning to end. Postscript: Please watch "SET THE WORLD ON FIRE" that you used as a reaction video in the past. You'll notice cute Haruna behind Asami wielding a stick with a big smile on her face. ---------- from Nippon *It is a sentence using Google translation. I hope I conveyed my intentions correctly.
Once again, every time the now non-bearded one opens his mouth, nonsense or irrelevant BS comes out of it. "Haruna is smiling, never noticed it before"...
