I love how well the toothbrush scene characterizes Abiko. It shows she might be a bit odd, stubborn, and have her own way of doing things but she's also very considerate of others and painfully aware of other people. She has to brush her teeth immediately after a meal but she also doesn't want to make others wait for her so she comes up with an elaborate way of brushing as fast as possible. Also, the language she uses about brushing ("it makes me feel gross") is based in emotion/feeling instead of logic. What's important isn't the result or benefits to her, she doesn't make an argument that it's better for the health of her teeth or anything, but how she feels about it. Then we see those same character traits as they play out in the conflict itself. Making arguments from emotion that are difficult to understand because they're so subjective and being stubborn and unwilling to budge on the subject of major revisions. It's just such good character writing. I love it.
One of the essential episodes of this season. Highlights the exact process that comes with the line of work and the reality of why many manga/anime adaptations get cancelled and/or reworked entirely. It's not just a "Studio" or "Brand" issue. People legit lose jobs, get replaced, and have to figure out what to do to actually survive behind the scene. Shoutout to Goa because from a editorial/writer's standpoint, it must have been the cruelest thing to happen, all because the levels of communication that happens outside his control. This is pure anime industry education at its finest!
Alwayse love how the harsh reality of the world in this show sure in a ideal world mangaka and script writer can talk one on one from the start but so many people have a foot in this project and all those people have there foot in other projects so things have to go down a chain of command and miscommunication happens so there no soul 1 person to blame.

Excellent episode! As a writer whose adapted comics, anime, and movie scripts into games, I can relate.... You guys might someday like to react to Bakuman, an anime based on a manga by the creators of Death Note, which is kind of like Oshi No Ko, but about young creators in the manga industry instead of the theater/idol world. Like Oshi No Ko it's full of insider insights.
Yeah, that's messed up. Like he would've gotten in trouble if he went to see her, and while I understand where's she's coming from, she should've gone to see him despite what her editor said. So she also had a part in it. And then there's the rest of them who gave him the wrong information and actually stood there while she scolded him... 😑 I mean, I assume he has some talent as a scriptwriter since they chose him. Especially if the story is that popular. Even when Akane pointed it out, he agreed with her, but the director stopped him. I feel sorry for the scriptwriter and the author too becuase she's taking on a villain role here. However, I'm glad it's now out in the open. 😆

I'll try not to spoil it too much, but as something that deals with the depression and the concept of stories and whatnot, it (at least the manga, but the manga was golden so I'm hoping No Longer Allowed is golden too) is very heavy with philosophical points and pertains to human nature quite a bit, so I think you'll heavily enjoy it!!!

This doesn't explain how scriptwriter butchering someone else creation for self insert because the IP is owned by publisher. . And if it doesn't go well it was the audience fault for being racist or something. . .
We don't know if script writers are at fault maybe they are just following order/requests, there are many people who influences the story adaptation for their benefits like the Ego producers/directors who wants to "make it better or improve" for their creativity, Sponsors and Upper Management who demands certain scenes to change for advertisement, diversity, etc.
I do get a chuckle sometimes when people use that excuse to cover up for a badly adapted work. But like to be fair most of the time that is just PR stuff to save face outside of rare cases.
Tbh i can see both sides in this. She's being an introverted (which is kinda hard believing she is, but she is LOL), she doesn't know how to deal with people, so she comes off as the "villain" here, but on the other hand, GOA-san HIMSELF should talk to her, not passing the message through all those people. Like, what is this LMAO On the other hand, i agree with her, and THIS HERE is exactly what hundreds of marvel and dc fans don't get: IT'S OK TO CHANGE AND ADAPT THE STORY. You got it backward, she is the one who should go and talk to him directly, after all she is the one in a higher position in this project. It's just not right for him to go talk to her directly and ignoring all of the connector between them when his position is not that high.

If the work is so important that the boss must hear it first then approve it, then he should simply invite the people doing the job to those meetings. The whole reason the boss hires them is because he can't do the work himself in the first place. Whenever you see some obvious problem in your neighbourhood/city/office/etc. that you cant wrap your head why it's still an issue..... This is the cause.
