Lyrics of the song The Fall from the EP Pebble Brain by Lovejoy Original: • Lovejoy - Pebble Brain... Learn to sing and write songs with Singorama! ▶ learn to sing: tinyurl.com/2p... ▶ learn songwriting: tinyurl.com/3z...
If you couldn't tell, the scream during "nowhere else to go but" is meant to be him jumping off a building. the exhale is his final breath and the guitar chord that plays right after is his body hitting the ground.
@@theburgerofficial1 to me it kind of means coming down from a drug high. and the sigh is him realizing how terrible he feels without drugs and going right back to it.
It’s pretty good but in my opinion it’s probably 4th best in my opinion sorry it’s just there’s amazing songs in the ep but there all good and that’s not an opinion that’s a fact.
PLEASE someone HAS to use this for a villain theme. LIKE LISTEN TO THIS GUITAR 1:58 AND THE LYRICS ARE PERFECT FOR A HERO TURNED VILLAIN REALIZATION 2:12
To me a lot of the album feels like it's about unpleasant sorts of people they've met/observed. A lot of them feel like very British archetypes, or like they're referencing a specific mindset in the British political landscape. Like in e-girl trilogy, Wilbur likes to sing from the POV of types of people he doesn't like. In this album I'm pretty sure he switches back and forth from the POVs of these unpleasant people to himself (or some other character dealing with them). Or I could be talking out of my ass lol... I'm not even British. This is just what I get from the album. (A lot of the songs not just this one.)
Don’t lose the meaning of this song in the music. It’s about a politician who knows he’s killed to get where he is, painting the counties blue, unable to feel any more pleasure from his hedonic misuse of power. Despite the thin blue line, and a calm veneer, he’s terrified of the people who he mistreated, people like you. In his realisation, he begins to apply a price to the grand views he pays for on holidays, knowing that unlike us, he’ll never know the true price of his action. In the end, he gets high on prescription drugs, and becomes deluded with grandeur, despite being self aware. He deceives himself, acknowledging his apathy toward the people, but feeling as if it’s worthy enough to be immortalised in a tapestry, one covered in graced dead souls. Looking down on those he abused, he tells the truth, that they’re not even human to him. He recognises that he could change something for the better, if only he hadn’t got to where he was by making things worse. In the final moments of the song, he realises that he’s clawed his way to the top, and now, feeling as if people are biting at his heels, and has nowhere else to go but… down. the ending is ambiguous, the implication may be that he kills himself, derived from the literal application of the last three lines, that he is actually so high he can’t make himself look anymore, and there’s nowhere to go but down. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
The lyrics are a little bit wrong on the breakdown, these are the actual lyrics: So come on, one and all and see the apathy The reams of grey stencils that fill the tapestry I look to all of you and see a different fucking species Aspiration for a different destination to me Across the Pennines there's a thin blue line, a knife and a mall I would do something if it wasn't all so effort-full 'Cause I'm so high my brain can't even look at the fall And when you've reached the top, there's nowhere else to go but...
yep- although I kinda like the "Would do something, if it also wasn't half my fault" instead of "I would do something if it wasn't all of effort-full" better, I mean it may interrupt the actual meaning of the song, but I feel like it sounds better lol
@@chinpin641 When Wilbur says “I would do something if it wasn't all so effort-full”, he means Boris Johnson would do something to help his country, but he can't be bothered (I think.)
@@someone943 ohhhh ok- thats pretty funny but also kinda sad- I mean going by the lyric, I actually don't know what Boris Johnson has done lol(though I'm pretty sure he hasn't done much good, as every British person on the internet I see seems to spite him)
Ok so my friend is kinda obsessed with them and I always get the updates so I was kinda forced to listen to this but to be honest.... It's good. It's really good! I just agree with them his voice could be a bit louder.
Same, I wish Wilbur’s singing was louder. With how quiet it is it makes it hard for me to process what the lyrics are and all I hear is is just a voice saying nonsense
Corrected lyrics to sing along to! Under the weight of a broken nose It's not that simple but he won't seem to notice There must be more to this So leave those sink estates and Let's book a holiday We're painting all the counties in blue 'Cause we're already boring And we're already hoarding What else have we got left to accrue? And the ramblers will say "It's got a marvelous view" But we don't know how many lives it took, no They'll never know what you knew And we're so calm but we're (fucking scared, fucking scared) And we're so calm but we're (fucking scared, fucking scared) And we're so calm but we're (fucking scared, fucking scared) And we're so calm but we're fucking scared of people like you Under the weight of some Sertraline A couple Prozacs and now I'm pumping dopamine There must be more to this We've got a country house now Old dog has been put down now Oh it's nice to be around trees Custom license plate On our Audi R8 How many grocers does one county need? And the ramblers will say "It's still a marvelous view" But the treadmill still looms Of your hedonic misuse So come on one and all to see the apathy The reams of grey stencil that fill the tapestry I look to all of you and see a different fucking species Aspiration for a different destination to me Across the Pennines, a thin blue line, a knife and a mall I would do something, if it wasn't all so effortful 'Cause I'm so high my brain can't even look at the fall And when you've reached the top there's nowhere else to go but-
For anyone who wants the part where Wilbur go’s so come on, one and all to see the apathy to hit midnight new year’s here in what time you need to play the song 11:57:45
In my opinion this is 100% the best lovejoy song, especially this part 2:12. The lyrics and the way they are sang sounds so awesome and amazing, I don’t even know how to explain it
TW: suicide This is literally just how it feels before you attempt suicide. there's the lows and the manicness and just the overall feeling of wanting to destroy everything in your path and then yourself. God, Lovejoy is genius.
I love this one, it's my favorite of the EP! So much emotion. Part of my brain wonders if the title is a slight reference to Sad-ist's Dream SMP animatic? Most likely not, but a cool parallel!
Oop i completely forgot about this lmao sorry but for weird teacher reasons I won’t be doing the presentation so :[ I can still jam to this everyday tho hehe
1:58 POV: A hero got betrayed by the citizens they always look out for and it's the start of their villain arc, and it ready to let the main building blow up from the bombs his number 1 villain planted under and has been planning for a while
this used to be my 5th favourite song of the ep. I liked four others more as I had heard them a lot more and the start of the fall wasn’t my type of music that I like but I heard the second verse somewhere (probably tiktok) and I loved it so I actually sat down to listen to it and pay attention to the words and I loved it! It’s now easily one of my favourite songs!
I know lovejoy made it as a band- I was just connecting it to C!Wilbur. I am sorry if I offended you and I know lovejoy is a band as a whole. You have the right to your opinions but you don't need to say this stuff under a comment where I am expressing mine.
when I first listened to the album I didn't really like this song but it just took me less than a day of listening to it and god it's so beautiful and catchy, glad I spent some time re-listening to the album
You got the first line right at 2:23, but the next line actually says “the reems of gray stencil that fill the tapestry” 2:30 it’s “Across the pennines, there’s a thin blue line, a knife and a mall. I would do something if it wasn’t also half my fault” you got the rest after that right Just wanted to let you know you got some lines wrong, but I appreciate your dedication & not look up the lyrics
pov: you found this song through a c!wilbur animatic and think "wow this sounds like wilbur soot" and then you see wilbur sing it live and think "oh the audio is from the livestream" then you hear wilbur say "im in this band called lovejoy" then a comment says "wilbur ___" you'd think i'd know that wilbur soot sings this by now, but until i watched the music video i thought it was a giant coincidence/inside joke im a dumbass y'all
people don't realise this song is about suicide. They sound as though they are on top of a mountain or bridge and people are saying its 'a marvellous view' but the character knows about somebody who has taken 'the fall' or they themselves are gonna take 'the fall.' Sad, but a beautiful song!
I feal like this is about a person who wants to make s change in the world but knows they are apart of the problem ands also knows one day they will have to fall down from their throne
