Walk the 3.4 miles around the lake (tidal lagoon) where the city comes together to exercise, and mingle. Situated in the center of Oakland, Lake Merritt has tons to offer. Lots of shows, festivals, pop-up retail, restaurants, and much more. Truly one of Oakland's gems. Lake Merritt is actually connected to the Pacific Ocean via the Bay and estuaries etc, so from time to time there will be sea creatures present.
