Loving Etihad's A380 economy class

In this video Gabe Leigh thinks he may have just found the best economy class seat in the sky: 47K on Etihad’s A380. Join us for an economy flight on the superjumbo from London (LHR) to Abu Dhabi (AUH) to see what the whole experience is like, including the amazing engine and wing view from this Economy Space seat with extra legroom. Plus we take a quick tour of the business and first class, the onboard bar/lounge, and we step into the cockpit briefly to meet the pilots (who love the A380 as much as we do.)
And if you’re eager to try out Etihad’s A380 for yourself, you’ll be glad to know they’ve decided to send the A380 to New York JFK starting April 22, 2024. That’ll be a really nice way to enjoy some of these onboard products on a much longer flight 😀.

Found that cool as well, being recognized like that 🙂 but I thought that very brief part of the video felt a bit "chopped off" so question is, what was truly said upfront which we couldn't hear 😅

The A380 has the noticeable galley noised due to the chillers that cool the carts and fridges. It will turn on and off (sometimes quite rapidly for some reason) to maintain the temperature that keep all the food safe :)

Concorde in the background at 5:28. Loved this video. What an aircraft is the A380. I have flown Business Class twice and Economy twice in one. Truly so quiet.

I don't like labelling things as "the best" (or "the worst" for that matter), but I must say out of all the av-geek-RU-vidrs/flight reviewers etc out there you're by far my favourite. Your videos have the perfect lengths, narration is absolutely well tuned, to the point and the video shots simply look great - keep 'em coming :)

You sir, are THE aviation’s world “celeb”. Flightradar24 is welcomed with open arms! Yes, I am envious. I fly business class with US airlines but obviously not invited to the flight deck even though I was a GA pilot and would love it. You get jump seats! Anyway, you do a great job and companies like the online free advertising. The reason US & European companies don’t give that extra service is no doubt extra costs. It is a shame. Thanks, Jim

Thank you for the whole take-off and climb out view. None of that "fast-forward" or "click the link below..." nonsense here! The A380 is our go-to ride, nothing else comes close and we will never fly on the B787.

I like the captain's reaction to see you. This video is amazing and understand how quite the Airbus A380 is. In the case of this Etihad Superjumbo video, it was powered by 4 Engine Alliance GP7200 engines. That's an interesting fact.

Like many pilots say. Every minute they aren't in the air. They aren't getting paid either, so they hate delays just as much as you do. They could have been at home sleeping. So obviously they'd try to do anything to not get delayed. Love how they negotiated in the video.

Didn’t know that. I just assumed they were on a fixed annual salary or the ones on hourly got paid for their time pre-takeoff checks and landing until they are out of the plane.

Thanks to this informative film, I altered my Economy seat from 50A to 47A for my outbound next month. I'm returning upstairs in Business in 10K. Really looking forward to both flights!

I would have been impressed with your paper cup of water except for: Summer 1974, Miami to San Francisco, National Airlines DC10. Regular class seat, 45 minutes late on departure so complementary bottle of Lancers wine with our Stone Crab and steak dinner.

Nice to see the video freshly uploaded! The Middle east indeed has a stark contrast to snowy Sweden. BTW, FR24's home country actually has had some concern about how it hasn't got so many transcontinental connections. Not much direct to east Asia and Ethiad would take any passenger a dumb detour; It's Qatar or Emirates from ARN. Never flew an A380, but nowadays more tempted (and makes more sense) to go LH and take their 747-8s

Hello Gabe, I have a challenge for you. Very tall people might find the economy-class less comfortable. I am one of those (6,7 ft) and I wonder if I would fit in a standard economy seat you showed. How about taking a very tall person with you next time to prove he can sit comfortably?

On A380s that do have economy upstairs, it tends to be better yes. But Etihad don't have it up there at all, only business and first.

I don’t wanna start a fight with some emirates fanboys, but personally, Virgin Atlantic has the best overall economy experience, especially talking on the 339 and 35K, although JetBlue’s 321LR is nice too.

Unfortunately my experience with Etihad wasn't that great when it comes to seats. I paid for a special seat at the back ( only 2 in one row) but my seat wouldn't recline! That was very uncomfortable! What made it worse, was that the passenger in front of me had reclined his seat all the way until the end of the journey. The passenger sitting next to me was unhappy about it but he didn't pay any money to get his seat. I

Having flown both etihad and emirates, I was hoping to get more of a sense of the space compared to regular economy and emirates premium economy. How much more comfortable was this compared to the regular etihad economy?
