This video made me cry and feel deeply for the times I could not offer loving speech to my mother, and the lack of loving speech I have needed at times in my own life. What a blessing it is to teach people how to do this, that is a blessing I have in my life. To pay this forward. Mahalo

I Have Found Deep Listening Is Almost Impossible When Someone Is Screaming At You For Hours! 😄 Whether This Is Because It Is An Anger Or Substance Fueled Rage, I Realised Sometimes We Have To Let The Sound Just Go Through Us, (In One Ear And Out The Other) And To Let Off A Light Hum, When They Are The Loudest May Assist With A Balancing Of Energy Regarding The Physical Damage The Verbal Vibrations May Cause Our Body. 😤 📢 🙄 💐 🙏

Well.. the point is to help them relieve their suffering. It isn't to 'endure' there ranting, it's to help them. Knowing that you're helping them get weight off of their heart for me personally, it makes me happy.

Of course the people in our lives are suffering, and we need to approach them with awareness of that suffering. But it becomes tricky when we try to acknowledge that forthrightly, and the person doesn't respond with gratitude. They may feel patronized. They may feel that you're coming to them with a "holier than thou" attitude and they don't like it. In our culture, people are likely to feel distrustful when you come to them with a sanctimonious kindness. They don't like to be pitited.

Marilyn, I have had the same reaction to some of his other videos. But, just now, after reading your comment, I realized that I hadn’t noticed the background noise in this one. I think it’s because I was listening to him more carefully than I often do. That thought made me smile, considering the content of the talk. 🙂 I hope that helps.
