I honestly didn't understand the message of this story. What is Godly about loving ourselves enough to accept money? I had hoped that Kris was going to tell us that he demanded of himself to try to act like Jesus, realizing that, for whatever reason, he had been unable to be generous and loving to this man-- that the message would be for him to be more humble and giving, instead of raising his "self-esteem" and willingness to gain financially (or, at least, be more comfortable with financial gain-- not, I think, a scriptural message). I worry that, however well-intentioned, Kris might have led himself toward pride and avarice. (Not trying to be a troll. But, genuinely skeptical of this message.)
