I promise you at least 90% of DCS players are playing on middle of the road equipment or worse. As long as you have equipment that you can learn, there is no reason to keep putting it off.

Tl;dr: If you're more budget oriented: no. If you have enough money to spend on essentially a fancy gimmick: yes. Long Version: So, the answer to that question varies depending on considerations, like budget, general interest in VR-Games and/or games that support headtracking, what you already own and so on. But to sum it up (assuming you're starting from scratch): If you want to get VR, and you're interested in also playing other games with it, you should go for one of the higher-end models. As the cheaper ones tend to have lower resolution and refresh rates, which is more likely to cause motion sickness. *Trying out the headset before purchasing very much recommended.* Should you only want it for DCS (or fligh-sims in general) or if your budget doesn't allow spending ~1k or more on a headset, I would recommend going for Headtracking (TrackIR, Tobii) and instead spend more on the rest of your simpit as that gets you bang for your buck. But everyone will give you a different answer depending on their experience. I have a 34" Ultrawide Monitor with Tobii Eye Tracker and desk-mounted VPC Constellation Alphas (overkill, VKBs are better value) . And I think that's plenty immersive. While flying with the Rift S makes me feel *really* uncomfortable (still great for other games though). Ok that's it. You can mostly get away with a gamepad. I do suggest at least some form of head tracking though. You basically cannot play the game without that.

It's not harsh, but its because you're just wrong. The T16000M and Warthog are still firmly the best full HOTAS system sets available around their price points.

@@kamsa1243 good point. As far as a full hotas set they can't really be beat. As far as sticks go there are a lot of better options. Even on a budget you would be better off mixing and match though. The t16000m with the NXT by VKB makes a great combo

@@kamsa1243 I know the twist axis sensor in the T16000. They used the same on the TM Cougar. Give them 6 months, and you can't do AAR anymore. These things are absolute shite! Considering the rudder is generally used less, I'd give that sensor 12-16 month of lifetime.

@@fonesrphunny7242 Yeah no, sounds like bullshit to me, I own 2 T16000Ms, one I used to use and one at my girlfriends place, used both for years, no issue. Same with every person I know who's owned one. It's also consistent with feedback from other owners. More importantly, tell me you never do AAR without directly telling me you never do AAR. Using yaw/twist/rudder while refueling? Don't drink and fly kids.

​@@Iffy350 I've been saying this for years. Imagine if Ace Combat had something like Far Cry 5's Arcade where the community could make missions and maps and share them. That game's lifecycle would be as long as that of the PS5 and Series X/S, and maybe even longer.
