Who would unlike these videos? Dr. Ebrahims videos are of the most informative, clear, in depth tutorials I have ever seen in all my years being in treatment for various conditions. Just excellent work.
Just wanted to say that your videos are extremely helpful and easily able to understand to those of us who suffer from these problems, but don't always understand the "medical lingo" being given to us at the time of treatment. Thank you so much and keep up the videos as they are extremely helpful to understand what is going on with my back.
Low back pain is the cause of a lot of lost work. Many of our clients report rapid recovery which is critical to their success. This video is done nicely and it is a great job on making this clear for the average viewer. Well done.
Heres what you should do: #1. Stop it getting worse. Make your core muscles super strong. Really focus on good posture. Never sit unless you absolutely must. Do not lift anything. #2. Use your mind best you can to ignore the pain. Easier said than done hey? #3. Use external ways to reduce pain. Ice Packs. Stretching. Laughter/comedy. Pills as a last resort. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much for this explanation. The detail, pace and diagrams made it extremely informative. I’m suffering from my 3rd serious bought of sciatica and just had my 3rd surgery in 22 years. Had a central disc prolapse at L4/5. I was told it was most unusual. I think laughter at one’s own situation helps while waiting for treatment and appreciated the jokes at the end.
As a 16 year-old this very thing happened to me, ended up having surgery. 3 years later the back problems still occasionally plague me. Go ahead and have this surgery, it won't ruin the quality of your life *as long as you* continue to exercise and keep mobile. That's the most important thing.
sir, my l4-l5 s1 problem dr. say need to operation but I can walk do any job some time came more pain this time my right leg also pain since 12 years, sir I want your opinion , please
This Video Has Been Very Helpful To Me and I Thank You Soo Very Much For Being Able To Make This Video To Help All With Back Pain Of Herniated Discs So We Can Understand. 👍🏼♥️ Thank You Again Doctor❣️🥰
Posterolateral : L4-L5 will involve the lower nerve ( L5 nerve) Foraminal : L4-L5 will involve the upper nerve (L4 nerve) . When the protrusion ( or herniation) moves further laterally, it affects the upper descending nerve.
Very informative and helpful, explains things nice and clearly.... thank you for sharing this information it has really helped my understanding of what is going on in the lower back.
Excelente información doctor, muchas gracias por sus videos tan didácticos que ayudan a entender lo referente a hernias discales, saludos cordiales desde Argentina
THANK YOU! I always wondered how come L4/5 can cause L5 and sometimes L4 radicular signs and symptoms. Now I know posterolateral versus formainal causes!! Very clearly explained with great pictures
Nice information with low speed of speech that's why I can understand it clearly, I m from india with not good command on english but 90% understood. Thanks
@Boss Thanks for sharing me that wonderful program...I was a Sciatica sufferer for almost 6 months. I was a bit skeptical but I was in so much pain I was willing to try anything to get a good nights sleep. By the end of one week 80% of the pain had gone. It took about six weeks before all the symptoms disappeared. Thank you.
Very informative and graphically effective presentation. Unfortunately, no two back problems are alike, but at least the layman can understand the mechanics of the problem. I have no neurological pain such as sciatica. However, I cannot sit down for more than 15-20 mins over the last six months. The pain starts from the left L4-L5 and radiates across to whole of the lower back. After the pain, the back becomes very weak and feeble. One epidural cortisone injection has had no effect. Suggestions?
I have what I believe to be a temporary injury. initially a lot of L leg pain (couldn't walk) it's been three weeks. flare ups still occur but i'm getting better with pain pills and muscle relaxers and rest. wasn't looking but I happened on this video. very enlightening. will gladly make it a favorite. perhaps lookout for other videos by the same presenter
i had a herniated spinal disc l3/l4 SUFFERED with back pain for a year and then decided to go through a surgery (microdisectomy). it has really helped me, im back to normal now, life was a living hell before.. microdisectomy is not very painful. its a very small surgery. post surgery pain is not as painful as the back pain and compression. if ur thinking about surgery then you should ask your doctor about miscrodisectomy or atleast consider it an option. the pain will dissappear. :)
Ayesha where did you go? No doctor in Lancaster or even maybe Pennsylvania will do surgery on 4 severe herniated disks. I am hopeless and want surgery very bad.
I am on my 3rd year of herniated disks. I had 1 and now I have 5. No more pain meds due to liver destruction. I just want to live but not in bed 23 hours a day. This shit isn't worth it....Soon need to make my decision cause I am sick and tired of this death sentence.
Hey sunny, Don't know whether you're still suffering, hope you're not. I have almost exactly the same, try inversion therapy to lengthen the spine. The pain goes away and lasts longer each time. All the best.
Dr thank you for video It really helpful in my situation, i have severe pain in my left side hips all the way to leg now due to disc issues and causing several time back pain. Please advice me for healing as soon as possible. Thank you
Thanks a lot for this information for many of my friends are suffering from it and they've spent a lot money for the treatment. I will help them since they don't have internet access and so they'll watch through this phone.
go to the non-invasive route. A study out this year stated that approximately 43 percent of patients who saw a surgeon first had surgery. Only 1.5 percent of those who saw a chiropractic physician first ended up having surgery. another study out this year by the Journal of the American Medical Association said, "Some people benefit from chiropractic therapy or acupuncture. Sometimes medications are needed..Surgery is not usually needed but may be considered if other therapies have failed."
I would just lie on the floor, rolling in pain for 30 almost consecutive days and it worked, may not worked at all for others. I think it is gravity based, body mass, body orientation, body repair rate. I just remembered Asian culture studies on how to deal with back pain. Ancient Asians do not use modern furnitures.
Hello sir , this is vijay from india I am suffering fromL4L5S1&C2-C7 from 2yrs but not cured , I had tried lot of options ......pls reply what can I do ....how can I send u my mri report
Dr.Nabil Almighty Allah subhannatallah. bestown upon you all blessings and protect you all evil forces and give you more and more strength to help the Humanity and grant you Jannatul FIrdous in hereafter.Amen.
thank you, been to a few Spine docs telling me that i should not be in pain, i can't bend, put my shoes on, bathroom, shower without help in screaming pain, can't sit, walk, had a cat scan done at the e.r. my scan showed that i have L 5 - S 1 Bulging in spine with Sciatica, have had Sciatica for 8 years , had an injection for my c section , felt the pain for 8 years no problem, this what i have now is unbearable, can't find a doc who will help, it is a sharp, aching, shooting pain, pure agony, totally lost and in so much pain, almost bed ridden.
Look into the symptoms of Chiari Malformations & see if you have any of those....since your docs have been looking for the usual problems & found nothing, you will need to start investigating some rarer conditions I think.
I had a surgery in 2009 on L4-L5 and S1 and in Oct this year I have another surgery on L4-L5 affecting the left side sciatica. I have a drop foot because of Chiropractor mistake. I am only 43 years old and I am in severe pain and I wish to take a third and fourth opinion. I prefer to do a surgery because I tried everything even the Epidural shot
Patients with "industrial back pain" are often operated based on physiologic bulging of lumbar discs as seen on MRI. Lawyers have been known to tell such patients 'if you're having so much pain, you should have the surgery in order for people to believe you.' How often do patients with low back pain improve after surgery? Depression often causes low back pain and such patients must be kept away from orthopedic surgeons.
Assalamualaikum Dr Nabil , thank you for video, sir where is your location, i have L4-L5 disk herniation since 6,months i am having this pain , plz tell me your location if you do treatment
I have lower back pain and herniated disics. I have one on my left side on a nerve. When I first noticed I had pins & needles in my legs, They were stiff and I could hardly walk. I went to a Neurologist & he gave me Lyrica for the pain. After a while the pins and needles went a way. I was walking much better. They have nolt come back for a long time. I first had an MRI. I was told it was not bad enough to have surgery. I had physical therapy first which didn't help. Then Lyrica which took the pin and needles away. I was able to walk better. Had to stop taking Lyrica because the insurance co would not pay for it. Tried other meds didn't work. I then got numbness on the top of my left leg. It comes when I am standing in one place for to long a time. When I start walking it goes away. The doc sent me to pain managment & I had 3 shots in my lower back. The first two help & took some of the numbness away. It dosen't come as fast as before but still have it. The thrid shot made thinks worse. No more shots after that. The third shot gave me the burning sensation when I site & when I lay down to sleep. Have not had a good night sleep in a longtime. One of the side affects of the shot is having to go to the bathroom more often. Sometimes I have to run and don't make it. The pain doc has now sent me for Accupuncure. I have had 4 sections now. It is a slow process. Very interesting the way they do things. Each time I go the pain is different. I have not given up yet. The ccupncure doc said it willl take a lot of time to get better. I think a lot of this is because I am shoret 4'8'' & don't touch the floor when I sit. I have a stole every where I go. My arms and feet go to sleep all the time. That is my story. Sorry if it is to long.Claire Stansbury
Claire stansbury Hello I have been going thru the same thing I had surgery last year at Laser Spine Institute in Cleveland Ohio and I would do it again! There team is great there the surgery was not bad you go thru an injection shot and the shot is a mimick of the surgery so if it's just your nerve that's causing the pain as it was in my case then it's a minimally invasive procedure to clean up a little bit of bone around the nerve to make room for it so as it's not crushing it I had that done last August and what a relief I was going thru the same symptoms but I had alot of pain also. I did pain management that's a joke the 3 shots they give you under the fluoroscope hurt terrible and didn't help me at all and then they released me after the 3 shots saying there was nothing they could do. I asked them what the meaning of pain management was and they could not answer me! I have degenerative disc disease and I am now going back to Laser Spine Institute to have their minimally stabilization procedure done where they are taking out two discs in my neck and replacing them with artificial ones. Since they use the Lasers and have their high tech equipment it's alot less of a procedure then in a normal hospital. But if you don't want artificial discs then you'd have to go to a regular hospital and they either take some from your hip or they use a cadaver bone. I myself don't like other people's parts in me unless it's totally necessary like a organ seen too many shows where people get that then die bc the bone had cancer in it or whatever! And my thought on my hip if I have degenerative disc disease what makes you so sure my hip bone is any better right I mean I don't want to do it twice. My aunt had it taken out of her hip and she was in the hospital for a week with drainage tubes coming out of her neck and her hip. And never get yourself Fused, Fusion there are many options out there now! I'm only 32 so I'm doing the most minimal surgery I can! So that would be the two surgeries that they can do for you. I hope you find relief this was my only relief after years of doing everything that could be possibly done till I went there then it was a miracle. Good Luck to you I hope this helped you sorry so long alot of info!☺
HI. I liked your video a lot. I have a question. Recently I've been diagnosed with discus hernia between L4 and L5; and L5 and S1. I am 21 years old and I have this for a year. I have consistent pain in my right leg. I went to physiotherapy but it didn't help. Is there any way for me to repair the damage?
