Continuing our series on the low back, it’s time to add in some eye movements. Since the eyes are intimately connected to our neuropostural control systems, they are constantly influencing muscular activity around the spine. As such, the visual system can be a great training and therapy target for people experiencing pain or movement dysfunction in the low back.
In this video, we use convergence and divergence drills with the eyes to target different types of muscle tone throughout the body. With a few tests and a little knowledge of anatomy, you can begin to figure out which eye movements are most likely to help your clients get the best results for their back!
