Low cost and successful running around the globe.
Grid Connected Power Plant runs on biomass. This generates electricity 1MWh and is connected to grid. Fully automatic plant operated through PLC.
Waste wood branches are cut and fed in this and further through partial combustion, producer gas is generated. This producer gas is cleaned using CPG's advance cleaning system and flows in IC engine. Electricity goes into grid through various grid connecting system.

Are the trees grown solely for fuel of the power plant or are the trees used for another purposed and the left over branches are used by the power plant?

Looking at the set up maybe the required electricity power to run the plant is more than its produce. The benefit may come from the biochar produce from the gasification system.

why not use hemp?

Hemp is a good crop, but it doesn't compete with tree biomass. Hemp groes on the same land that you would grow corn , it need very rich land to grow well, for land that are poor in nutrients, many tree or better adapted to thrive on these land. There isn't one crop for every situation.
