Low Flow High Risk A Hygienists Personal Journey with Xerostomia 

This course will explore Xerostomia and discuss the need to discover the root cause for our patients. We will discuss the possible causes and ways to not only relieve discomfort but fight the decay process at the same time. This course will discuss the quality of saliva, and how the pH and buffering capacity play a role in our patients suffering from low salivary flow.
Course Objectives:
• Understand the critical role we play, as a dental team member, for our patients suffering from Xerostomia.
• Re-evaluate how we are treating our Xerostomia patients currently.
• Discuss the roles pH and buffering capacity play in all our patients, but particularly our patients with low salivary flow.
