I did a talk at Handmade Seattle this year! It was a great experience that helped stoke my creativity, and I highly recommend you guys check out the other talks at media.handmade...
If there is interest in a RU-vid Q&A about this talk, or my experiences with game dev in general, please let me know your question in the comments :)

I'm so guilty of "emotional' programming; so glad someone is talking about the giant elephant in the room. Your experience feels very familiar to me :-)

One of my problems is that for being able to ask I first need to understand what I actually want to know. And that takes time. Here the same problem in more detail: At work I sometimes need to debug the code. And the code I'm working on is multilayered and builds on years of work by different people. We work on microcontrollers communicating with each other, different self made libraries where the code is not all at the same place, we use programming patterns, we use pointers to load different functions and structures and so on. Documentation is there but it is not as great as it could be. That makes everything a bit convoluted. Sometimes I get the task of finding a bug in there. Or I need to get an old test running and it just doesn't work _(either toolchain problem or bugs we didn't have time to fix while I don't always know which of the two it is)._ Just trying out everything to find out the specifics on the bug takes a lot of time. The timescale can be around the several workday range. If I don't do that I don't understand the problem enough to ask productive questions. But if I do that days go by _(not always but sometimes)._ At work people sometimes say I should ask for help more quickly. But asking for help is not that easy. After all chances are that the code was written by someone not working here anymore or that I asked for help but we sat on the problem for hours and didn't come much closer to the problem. And the more relevant problem I have when it comes to this topic is, that when I don't have my question figured out, I'm very bad at asking question. I can ask the question and describe the problem for over ten minutes and the other person still has no clue at all what I'm getting at. And when they ask questions back I have to say "Sorry, don't know, didn't try that out yet". That entire problem seems to me as if it is a balance of clarity and time. Anybody got any thoughts on my problem?

I watched you since ever the time I learned python and other gaming lessons. And I realize how my life has gone so far from that life now, I had other job and things can't get me close to even touch game making, but I'm still here. You remind me a lot to my old days. A prove to what I once wanted to be. And yeah I suck at coding.

the problem I usually face is that I don't touch the keyboard or even start the computer until the algorithm is 95% finished in my mind and this wastes so much time
