A similar thing is happening in the States. But some of those causes are: Promoting the gay/lesbian lifestyle, Making buying a house way too expensive, Having people glued to social media, Getting people hooked on drugs and unhealthy other habits and foods, And making it harder and harder to get a decent paying job/creating new ways to force us into debt.

Gay people are definitely not the problem lol. I know lots of gay couples who elected to have children through adoption or invitro fertilization.

let me add, High divorce rate and cheating leads young people to reprioritize their life focus.

@@crysed7897 Why settle for one person for the rest of your life when there's an app full of possibilities??? That and a pool full of STDs, drama and bs.

It's interesting that the Minister feels that the children problem won't improve until young people earn more. This is backed up by the next experts who show how regular employees and those men with high incomes are most likely to marry. But the entire focus of Japan's labor market has seemed to be to reduce labor costs in an effort to compete with lower wage countries like China and Vietnam. Companies prefer irregular and arbeito employees who can be hired and fired as the economy goes up and down. This seems like two conflicting goals and you just know the companies will get their way. So I fear Japan is doomed to have an ever aging population.

This is the future that the world will be heading. Unless we end unlimited growth & hypercapitalism, young people are not going to have kids or relationships.

Oh so poverty will simply vanish if we remove the capitalist lifestyle? How? …The youth of Japan is getting much poorer than recent generations that fully benefited from this ‘Capitalist’ system, and are now being SACRIFICED by the Japanese Gov and their ‘old boy club’ and their votes come from elders. They don’t give a sh about the next generations because they’ll be gone by then. The gov & majority of people are old and they want to keep their comforts. Nothing to do whatsoever with capitalism. People like you just throw that out there without understanding…

Just understand that Japan society as a whole is begging for extinction so hard no matter what POV you are looking from
