Low Power Volvo 

Okay I'm back at it; cursed again to drive another truck with a Volvo engine. I don't know if it's a misfire or what but I have to drive a 2010 d13 engine like it's a 1995 Detroit Series 60. Caterpillar claims that only 180 horsepower from the engine is required to move 80,000 lbs down a level road with no wind at 50-mph. This D13 engine is unable maintain 35 miles per hour up a 3% grade. Incredibly, if I'm not hauling two heavy-like under thirty thousand pounds-if I drive it like a Cummins ISX and keep the RPM's at 1600 and the speeds above 60 MPH it does fairly well until a 2% grade. I don't hear a turbo leak. It starts great: it idles smooth: it just feels like it only has 125-HP.

Hi great to subscribed your Channel, i got problem like you said , unusual power, loss power on uphill even little bit uphill, i am scare ro bring the truck to volvo dealer even they just replace my hall turbo a year ago but it took 2 weeks crazy , and the coast almost $9k , my question is do i can stay run for 2 weeks still ok or i have to bring to small shop not volvo dealer to avoid break down or what i have to do, thank you for tour kindness

I came in for a turbo check up paid $8,000 and still had the same issue. I was disappointed in TAT shop.

What brand do you feel is the most challenging or hardest to diagnose? For me its international and volvo. Love working on detroit and cat engines though.

I have the same motor D12 with that seem fitting I have replace the O-rings and just always seem to leak no matter what what do you do to fix it the previous owner to my truck had replaced the turbo so with a new Turbo and that coupler never seems to line up straight in between the lower cooler tube and the Turbo any help on that

I have an engine cummins ism 425 When I'm loaded I feel like it has lost power it would run up to 55 and no more even on a straight road. And I'm on my last gear here... Even if I accelerate more it won't go pass 55 mph.. which empty it runs to 65-75 mph. Is this normal.???

TFTV , my 2015 Cascadia DD15 sounds like the Jake brake kicks on mostly when throttling down, loaded and at higher speeds. I can't tell exactly but maybe from around the turbo area. I still get up to governed speed 76 and no codes

How can I get one of those Turbo Bust Leak Testers for a Detroit Diesel 60 Series 12.7 L running in Kenworth t600 from 1999?

What if I do that test! And my system didn’t boost pressure but can’t find any leak! Truck gauge show 35 to 40 psi! But truck it’s low power! The intercooler has been replaced and truck boost go from 20 to the pressure mention before performance get better but it go back to low power but turbo pressure stay at 35 to 40! What can be??

hey i have a 2007 volvo 670 10 speed my truck set about 2 years and my truck was running good when i originally park it....and it has about 1/2 tank of fuel in it ..so i got ready to start the truck up after 2 years of sitting and got some new batteries in it and it started right up idling beautiful i go to drive it and its if i dont have no power it takes along time to get to 50mph and i have the gas pedal to the floor ..i changed the two filters and put some additive in it i put howes and lucas injector cleaner and fuel conditioner in i went back out to test drive it .and it seemed to be alittle better i was able to get 60 mph but it still taking along time to get there i drove about 90 miles.but it still doing the same thing it is not smoking it but it is actually running good but i dont have no power...there is no code lights on..do you think i need to put somemore additive in it and drive it more..

Good video I have a cummins ism that blew two boot hoses on the hot side. Replaced them and adjusted the ecm and every now and then I hear a whistle nose can't find any other leak. Had the intercooler repaired also. Any thoughts 😕

If one cylinder has the valves at overlap wouldn't that cause a leak?

My 06 Volvo d12 makes a hissing noise at idle once you press the throttle it goes away

my truck stop on me with no type of warning. it was if it was not getting fuel so i had both filters changed out . the filter that has the site glass had some milky looking stuff in it .so after changing the filters it started up but ran as it if was no getting fuel. any idea what needs to be checked for this problem .

Hello, I just recently got out of a Cascadia with a DD15. The problem we was having was,the ECM kept getting water in the plug. We had new wiring harness and new ECM put on. What could be the cause of this problem?

Seems like volvo engines are a lot more substantial than cummins engines

I have a 2014 Volvo Vnl 670 when I’m driving down the road I get up to 60mph in 12th gear and I can’t push pass it I start to drop in speed to around 45mph and then it lets me give it gas to get to 55mph and it won’t push pass that. What could be that problem?

I have a 17 cascadia with dd15 having almost 600k on it. My boost pressure goes less than normal and I get check engine light with the code SPN 2631 fmi 1. Been to Freightliner and other mechanics and they have failed to find the issue. They end up doing regen and replacing parts and the issue still comes back up after few days. Very frustrated

hey Adam I have a 2015 cascadia and it has the scr inlet temperature sensor drift to high range code i inspected the actual temperature sensor before the inlet tube and replace but the code came back i tried doing a regen but it didn't complete it but on my dd software it shows nox conversion good

so you dont need to replace a whole turbo when the leak is on cold side?

Hi, I have no acceleration going up hill in my 2011 Volvo Vnl cummins and no codes. Runs good on level ground, but drops from 70mph to 60mph on small incline loaded and 70mph to 65mph empty. No whistle sounds from inner cooler and no Turbo leaks. Could Turbo cooler still have leaks with no whistling sounds?
