“I’m very prone to loneliness,” said Kojima. “I think there are similar people around the world - especially gamers. … When they’re alone playing video games in their living room, they don’t feel like they fit into society or their community. So when people play this game they realize people like them exist all over the world. Knowing that even though I’m lonely, there are other people like me - and that makes you feel at ease. That’s what I want people to feel when they play this game.”
Rest in peace, Ryan. Your lyrics, your songs, your music will always be something to make a support in tough times, thank you, Low Roar, thank you for making the atmosphere of Death Stranding, your music is ver important part of it. And of lives of so many people. My condolences for Ryan family. We will miss you
Condolences as well. --- Ryan, and Raymond (mostly known from The Castanets) were gone now. Their music was so impactful to me back when I was in tough predicaments in high school. Tim Minchin's music, Tally Hall and furthermore I could mention... I am grateful to have been touched by their work. I am happy that they made art and I have heard them play.
Was pretty shocking news. Was going to see him live, late October, in Ireland. Then got the news that it was canceled. A week later we found out why ☹️
One wise man of our time once says: "Poets are not born by chance They fly to the ground from above Their lives are surrounded by deep mystery Although they are open and simple The eyes of such divine messengers Always sad and true to the dream And in the chaos of problems, their souls always shine To the worlds that are lost in the dark" Maybe GT not do it word to word, but i sure you got the point...
Found you guys back after Death Stranding released, listened to you ever since. Wish I found you earlier, your music is so unique. Rip Ryan, thank you for the memories.
Shitload of backing tracks. They're pretty much just playing over the original song, which is disappointing... But hey, that's electronic music for ya.
Came straight to this video after I heard the news. It really is a sad day. His music helped me get through a toxic relationship and helped me cope with it after. Such a beautiful voice with beautiful stories. A powerful mind, and his band was able to help him achieve sounds like no other. His music was "dream-like" to me. I could close my eyes and go to another place of solidarity and solace. Rest easy Ryan. 💚💛❤️
Спасибо тебе Райан за музыку, что ты нам подарил. Это было великолепное путешествие. Сколько бы раз я не слышал и в какие периоды жизни. Спасибо тебе и до встречи. Thank you Ryan for the music you gave us. It was a great journey. No matter how many times I hear and in what periods of life. Thank you and see you.
I crossed the Alps with my car this year. There was no better music for this trip, it felt like I was driving in another planet. Thank you guys for your contribution to our lives with this music. I'm sorry for your loss. Music lives for ever!
Seriously this song is the best song of all times. I'm really sad I can't believe he's gone. I'm so bad 😞 Rest in peace my friend. I'm a big fan from Brazil! I really really sorry. And thanks your songs touched my soul..! Like his song said: Don't give up I won't wake A wealthy man someday 'Cause the sun, don't follow me I won't wake Without a song to sing Nothing to some Everything to me And in my worst I'll do my best To make it seem Like I'm happy 'Cause I've grown numb Dry as my tear ducts I've grown dumb And empty But don't give up on me Give up on me Give up on me
I’m so glad Kojima has such a beautiful taste in music. I’m currently binging all the music even remotely involved in Death Stranding because it’s all amazing.
yeah man I rewatched the trailers and got surprised with the amount of spoilers in it I never noticed :D remember all the "this makes no sense" comments? Now it all makes all the sense
Not a day passes where i don't think of you, Ryan. Your music helped me through the darkest years of my life. Thank you.... I wish you could have stayed longer with us. Rest easy.
Listen to this after i reach the bottom of depression and existential dread and wallow for a bit. Helps recenter me. Can't thank everyone involved enough in it's creation and spread
It's like hideo knew what type of sound we needed to hear and found a perfect match. Incredible match for living life as Sam Bridges, not just this song either. The entire album has given DS an extremely unique feel and it fits so damn well!! Good work Low Roar you have a new fan!
With low roar if feels like they made the music first and then sort of built the game around it, if that makes any sense? I know I didn’t go that way, but it just goes to show how well it fits
You got your wish 🥹🙏🏼 We're for sure getting a Death Stranding 2. Hoping Hideo gets permission to use more of Low Roar's music. Would really love that. And to see some sort of tribute to Ryan in the game...
Low roar and death stranding make my life so much better, i became so much future proof, loneliness proof, today being lonely is standart, we need more connection with each other. Even now in sad days this music makes me better, R.I.P ryan
during a concert in Wrocław, Poland in the middle of the song he just went a capella. it was one of the most hauntingly beautiful moment of my life. i am forever thankful for the music
This version sounds more powerful than the version on the game. And it takes it out of the context of the game and gives it life of its own. And playing a bass guitar with bow? Genius.
due to his actions here I'm pretty sure he's really there for show. HIs moevements didn't match ANY of the drum/tipan/hit hat bits and he's got just a computer and some other tech equipment in front of him. Makes me wonder if the only true thing in this bit they did was the vocals as it seemed almost like they just coped the recording and went with it for the video. They coulda just done it green screen and showed them floating through DT's landscape and it be more impactful. Regardless: GREAT SONG.
@@jesseallen3109 it was an electric kit. He was definitely making it look like he was putting in more effort than he was though. Also the sound the kit is using is super heavy on bass so it's hard to distinguish it from the rest of the song. I play bass and still had to crank it to distinguish it out from the background.
@@Bl4ckD0g So that means I'm right. or at least partially right. I kinda figured with the PC's before him it was electric set up. the extra effort was for show and to cover that some part was pre-recorded (most hard to do bits in songs are when live as would be bad to have that single tonal 'offness' if/when a wrong note is hit.). I admit though that the bass is with the drum's electronic kit.. that seems a weird choice, but whatever works (and it does).
I don't know how to explain it... but this guy's sound was old fashioned and brand new all at the same time. He took good old autistics and mixed them with modern lyrics, modern instruments and modern uses of old instruments (digital drums, violin bow on electrical guitar) possibly not all his idea but he inspired such greatness. I only hope more artists learn from this legend.
"what can *YOU* achieve with 3 guys.. with a love of video games.. music.. and practice like fucking hell?" "You get a team.. a team of masters.. where those masters make masterpieces" And.. they always keep coming..
Thank you for bringing me here, Hideo Kojima-san. I've been diving deeper on the meaning of both the game, songs and each lyrics. Death Stranding is indeed profoundly complex
Some folks laughs at these guys and calls them cringe, but I see true passion, respect to these guys and every passionate artists out there, don’t be afraid to submerge into the wonders of your works.
I only got to know you for 2days before they announced your tragic death. Heard your incredible voice from the new series of GangsOfLondon2 and instantly fell in love with it. I was straight on the computer seeing when you was coming to London next to gig and then.... boom! I here you had died. So sad and RIP 🙏🏻
I've been listening since 2014, and I was devastated to learn of Ryan's passing. This music really has been a solace for me for a long time now and I am so grateful that he decided to share his music with the world. Still just as beautiful now as it was when I first discovered Low Roar.
I’ve followed Low Roar for a few years now. I’m now celebrating my 60th birthday. Love your music. Almost went to see you with my daughter at Leeds. Another time. Keep up the beautiful sounds x
His beautiful music and lyrics, sung in his haunting voice have touched the lives of so many people all over the world, and will continue to do so. He was a kind and beautiful soul and our worlds are shattered by the loss of him. May we honour his memory through his art and hold him forever in his songs. The sixth Low Roar record was already underway and will be completed and released when it is ready. Please respect his family’s privacy at this incredibly difficult time. "Sometimes you feel like this is never ending, but we all fade away…”
El legado de Low Roar siempre quedará impregnado en mi corazón. Gracias Ryan por presentarnos tu mundo sonoro a través de la composición, letra y hermosa voz. Por siempre mi admiración hacia ti y tu trabajo vivirá.
I THINK SO 😳🎶❤️ I'D GO TO ONE OF THEIR CONCERTS IN A HEARTBEAT AFTER WATCHING THIS. 😮🤩 And I JUST found out about them due to the game. Hadn't even heard of them before that.
i remember looking for this after the death stranding trailer and falling in love with this song since then , man how much life has changed since then and most importantly rip ryan :(
Thank you Ryan for setting the atmosphere in Death Stranding. I am deeply saddened to hear of your departure from this realm, but you will live through your music. Wish I found you before the game. You will be missed.
Rest in Peace 🕊️ I wish I found your music before Death stranding. We will miss you, but we never gonna forget you. I wish you know how massively you impact our lives in a good way. 🥺🤍 Every day our home is fulfilled of coziness through your creations 🥹🥲 we are so grateful!!!
I was saddened to hear of Ryan's death as I just learned of his passing. And it brings me to listen to all of his songs one's I've played on repeat and others I just haven't listened to, the more songs I listen to the more i appreciate his musical prowess.
