@@facetanked just coming back to say thank you for the guide. Got a 36 kill trip on my mid level HCIM. Could've gotten more but only brought 2 super antipoisons. Once I ran out, that's when I began to burn thru my food. 37th kill, Rex was down to 6hp, I had 12hp, no food, no pots, poison hit me for 6, down to 6hp, and my ring of life yeeted me out of there. Which was SUPER scary because I was hovering over my home tele (because all deaths are safe deaths in your poh). Had to spam click the house tele tab from lumbridge. If I'd have taken another 6 in lumby that would've been RIP to the Status! Lmfao
@@facetanked side note, I waited out the 10 minute aggro timer (verified with the aggro timer Plugin). Went down the ladder and back up, and my aggro timer was reset. Found that odd. May have been a 1 off weird bug? Or did they change the physical location of the standard dag kings room to not be physically right underneath it, thus going down the ladder resets the aggro? Idk.
@@SouthernWolff no I’m pretty sure that’s how it works now unfortunately ☹️ I swear I remember a time when the monsters wouldn’t re-aggro but maybe *that* was the bug 😅
The guide for noobs that I watched made it look SO simple, after nearly getting sent to shame on my ironman several times I looked for this guide and found it. That melee ring doesn't seem so far out of reach anymore

Found it much more helpful utilizing the x-log method, where you find an empty world, memorize the world, hop to a world where there is a person inside killing all three kings, quickly run to the safespot and then x-log back to your world. Saved me a bunch of food and prayer pots. You can also utilize this method if you accidently lured prime. just pop protect from magic, go to the safespot and x-log. Saves you from teleporting away having to redo this.
great guide! id suggest instead of just showing people the ladder trick, to also show them how to x-log in someone elses room once they found an empty world. so much easier imo
Keep these up, very helpful, especially the breaks where I could stop and watch the next bit of the video to prepare, rather than have to memorize from the beginning!
Good guide. First trip got 16 kills, two b-rings. Second trip was stressful bc of stupid crasher after 2 kills and wasted all my food trying to get a new world.
Also, as I have just started my Rex grind on my mid level iron myself, I found a much less stressful way to get into the lair without dying to Supreme and Prime. When you climb down the ladder, you want to make sure you are either not being attacked by any king, in which case you follow this video, OR if you climb down and only the range king(supreme) is attacking you , pray range and go around to the Rex safespot as normal. Kill Rex once, with protect from range on the whole time. Drink a Antipoison dose, heal up to full health and drink a prayer dose to get enough prayer for a full minute of protect range. Once this is all done, you can xLog, which is simply closing out your browser or app if you're on mobile. After one minute, the server will log you out, and once you log back in (make sure you were on the same world as before so you don't crash someone) you'll be safe to kill Rex to your heart's content. You can also use this method to take a break at any time without having to teleport out of the lair!
this guide led me to actually feel confident enough to tackle rex, now it's easy peezy and something I do to pass time! Thanks man, youve got a natural talent for simple guides!

Killing my Rex's now, without any stress because of you. Super defence potions really help saving food! edit: found it very usefull to find a world where 1 lair is occupied and another one is free, this way you can hide in the occupied lair, while waiting for the right setup for entry!
ADVICE FOR PEOPLE WITHOUT AN ALT! There is ONE IMPORTANT TIP for getting to rex. It is NOT WORTH to keep going back in and out till you get a safe way to the rex safespot. The amount of HP you lose at the ladder takes away so much of your supplies. It is way more efficient to get to the safespot with ONLY Supreme his aggro and protect range on at all times. Make sure you have enough prayer left for 1 minute of protect for range and X log in the safespot. This is way quicker and safes you so many supplies. Advanced tip: If someone griefs you at the Rex safespot by pulling aggro from rex PUT PROTECT FROM MAGIC ON since Rex his attack are AOE. I had to learn it the hard way, but I hope this saves someone from getting griefed and get hit a 50 by Rex.
@@Jantteri96 You can't log out normally at DK's. X-log is when you log-out by pressing the x of your runelite client. Osrs will log you out automatically after being in combat for 60 seconds.
Its important to be mindful of the position of the other dk's when going to agro rex. I accidentally caught the attention of supreme and got killed almost immediately
I was very relaxed following your guide until I killed Rex for the second time and got a berserker ring. 2 kc b ring will make you a little unrelaxed but great guide!
The rockshell platebody and plate legs that Rex drops is exactly the same as rune armor EXCEPT it has +4 range defense each, toss them on when you get it, helps extend your trips. It also doesn't effect Ava's devices so you can use it as a range tank set before you do barrows!
this is bad info, rune armour & rockshell have identical defense bonus. the only difference is that rock-shell armor has slightly less range attack penalty than rune (rune plate -15, rock plate -10; rune legs -11 , rock legs -7)
Leagues 4 players: You can let yourself in without a rune thrownaxe by setting your recall location next to one of the doors, opening it from the other side with any ranged attack, and then recalling back. Saved me so much of a headache.
Rofl, I wasn't paying attention to the orientation of the compass for the safe spot so I was running north and kept getting one or two kills before prime would spank me. Also, using ancients helps extend the trips
man I've been wondering what those kings are so preoccupied with when you enter and they don't attack. What could they see in the far off reaches of that cavern?
I cannot get this to work at all. Even if I get to the point where the 3 kings are away from the ladder, I end up getting attacked by the ranger when I'm trying to do the safespot.
When going solo there is _definitely_ some randomness involved -- don't give up though! If you can, bring a friend to lure Prime and Supreme to the far corner then go down the ladder to set up Rex. Good luck!
Iban's is a great option and probably you're best bet. You can bank on Lunar Isle or do what I do and just teleport home then go from there. Getting there is not fun so I advise bringing plenty of food and antipoisons to make sure you can stay for a long time each trip.
amazing guide, i lost all my gear and fire cape trying to do this after about 20 attempts not 1 kill, bossing on this game is trash dont bother unless you are maxed, nothing relaxing about bossing at all.
As of 12 april 2023 the spinolyps magic attacks now roll against your magic defense. Gamers should take that into account with their gear setups going forward.
theres so much downtime here cuz ur in a safespot most the time. i recc. baskets of strawberries as food cuz they heal 30 u just lose a lot of tics so u cant really use it mostly anywhere else in the game
I am tired of hearing people say this game was "so much better in 2007" because it just isn't and this content highlights why. It's clearly been designed to be as anti-player and anti-fun as can possibly be.
