Such a nice 300 litres. This tank is in my list for buying. Blau is a spanish brand since 1992.

I had Ancistrus in my aquariums as a child. For many years they did not breed, but after I regularly fed them slices of courgette, they started spawning a few weeks later. This "trick" still worked in aquariums of two friends. But maybe it was also a coincidence... You never know! Just give it a try. But remove the remains of the courgettes after one day at the latest, otherwise it will pollute the water. Nice tank by the way!😉

Such a gorgeous tank! I'm all about low-tech tanks because I have been too afraid to take the plunge into CO2 world, but also don't want to create more work for myself. Maybe one day I'll try it out, but I'm having fun focusing and caring for the ecosystems I've built today. Also, great penny plant on the window sill!

Aquarium beautiful and in the style that I like the most. Residents certainly feel good there, and this is the most important thing 👍

Beautiful aquascape and thanks for such a great interview between two very knowledgeable aquascapers. You covered so many questions I had and I love the focus on designing the aquascape for the fish versus the fish being an afterthought. Nothing wrong with that, there are many beautiful aquascapes where the fish are definitely not the main show but I got into the hobby because I enjoy watching the different fish "personalities" and consideration for the plants and hardscape came later. This aquascape is a great example of pulling it all together successfully. (By the way, I love the low level background music during the interview, perfect volume and ambiance - George your videos just keep getting better and better!)

I love an Orinoco build, the fish and the plants are very common and affordable. I love to build tanks in the theme of keeping common fish.

These are so relaxing! The conversations, music, visual could be an avenue for a series: “Deep Dive” with George Farmer. This would connect all the dots for you as I see you evolving and changing. Just a thought, love what you’re doing. 👌🏻

George I really do appreciate your content - not just saying that (or typing that :)). And I want to thank you for uploading such great consistent content. I elevates my mood every time you post, much like when I see a bird outside my window - you are helping to make the world a more beautiful place. I marvel at God's beauty in the tanks you show. Thank you again.

seems to be a rush to 'low tech' aquariums these days. we found out we don't need anything but water!

a dutch style is a prety manicured formal garden but its what it is not a illusion. ....unfortynatly competition is havely influeced by perspectives, wich some time can even be cosmetic or unral.

A well kept garden in aquascaping would be dutch style. I think nature scapes like the one in this video and the styles incorporated by george are snippets of nature while diorama style scapes encompass entire landscapes. They utilize extreme precision in details and tanks in IAPLC lately predominantly focus on an understanding of the smallest details and concepts seen in nature and not just "a man made attempt". It's a difficult style and something not a lot could embrace due to its complexity.

Very beautiful aquascape! Thank you George for the detailed presentation. Do you think there could be a danger for the cardinal tetras being eaten by angelfish? I have neons and afraid to add angelfish for that reason.

Really lovely tank great layout, Vallis, certain floating plants, and Swords, can do well in my experience with hard water and high light without CO2 injection but with added Iron and for the Swords rich substrate, so long however, as the Phosphate and Nitrate levels are are kept at sensible levels, not too high but not exhausted. The Angel fish however, will I fear, in time, outgrow this set-up. Ref. discussion about injection of CO2, levels as such are arguably not really the key issue in tank versus natural environments, it is exhaustion in tanks, in nature deeper water with no plants combined with shallower water with plants, high volume flow in rivers, rotting vegetation, and springs, mean that CO2 doesn't get exhausted, the levels we commonly use with injection of 20-30 ppm are higher I gather than most natural waters, but tanks can easily have almost no dissolved CO2 after only an hour or so with lights on and surface agitation. Once CO2 is not available to plants either they die or they, as the Swords no doubt are doing here, use the biogenic route to break the bicarbonates, but that process is apparently energy demanding, and high light and nutrients can easily lead to algae issues. Great video again George.

I love biotope/biotype scapes. They just put me at tremendous ease and I find myself able to enjoy them for longer. The carefully aquascaped tanks lose their appeal to me much quicker. I also like wild/natural types of landscaping too, so it's just a personal preference. Managed chaos. If anyone could help, I have always had trouble growing echinodorus; I have tried almost all the varieties without success. I have used all kinds of substrates and fertilizers and nothing seems to help at all. Maybe they just hate my water...They are categorized as easy, and everyone seems to be able to grow them but me. I feel left out. Any advice would be appreciated. Take care.

@@GeorgeFarmerStudios Thank you for your reply, George. I have not tried tissue culture Echinodorus. Now that you mention it, I have had great success with tissue culture from other species. It is worth a shot at least. I love sword plants which is why I keep planting them in hopes that one will take off. Thanks again!
