not sure if im the only one, but as an angler i go to where i think i will catch the most fish, and when you put your rod on the beach, i jumped out of my chair, do you not know why we have shoulders, you lean your rod against your neck and you have a rod rest, my dad only ever told me once to not lay the reel in the sand, never have done it again
So sorry John I promise never to do that again!! I’m afraid I’m not particularly good at looking after my gear I’ve been told off before!!😂😂😂 thanks again for watching cheers cheers ian
Ahh I wished I watched this before I went there last year! I didn't know about those structures, and I got snagged in them a couple times, we fished right at the top of the tide on the point side to your right. Very snaggy place, but we had no idea about that sandy/muddy bit you were on that's lovely. We got a cod (in june) on crab and a smoothie on ragworm. Cool place! Walking home through those fields in the dark was a bit sketchy though lol. Cool video!
You were brave fishing it from high tide down!!! I think I lost 5 leads even fishing it over low water and the metal structures need to be avoided as you know now!😂😂 At least you are a bit more clued up for your next trip!!! Glad you enjoyed the video thanks for watching cheers ian
Hi ian you ok pal, i enjoyed the vid again cheers. Well done on your codling👍. It does look a snaggy mark that spot. All the mud looks like a few spots i fish on the humber lol. All the best ian from GRIMSBY.
Very muddy but can definitely produce some good fish on its day. I don’t fish it too often as I always lose gear but it made a nice change from the usual venues. Thanks again for watching cheers ian
Another good watch ian 👍 made the trip to chesil yesterday, walked to the teeth but had dogs and whiting all day one whiting was well over a pound so thats tea sorted 😁 the sea was a lovely colour so I thought a few codling would be on the cards ,o well thats fishing 🎣
Hi Paul I was very tempted by Chesil this weekend too but unfortunately work got in the way!!! I may get there in next few days weather permitting…. Shame you didn’t get a cod the nuisance fish just get there first some days!!! Thanks for watching again cheers ian
Yes Lee typical isn’t it!!! I don’t know why I bother looking at my rod tips to be honest!😂😂😂 glad you enjoyed the video thanks for watching and taking the time to comment cheers ian
Hi Gary I’m really surprised at that it seemed near perfect conditions for a fish or two… especially as I heard it was fishing well!! You just can never tell I guess!!! Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed the video cheers ian
Hi Paul probably a 10 to 15 minute walk over fields uphill on the way there. Then a bit of a scramble over rocks and kelp. Me and Chris in our 60’s but relatively fit I guess it’s not an issue for us. You park in the national trust car park to the right of Woodspring Priory…. Entrance to path on your left as you look north. Not sure how far you can go but you could always rest along the way!!! Cheers ian
Hi Dan lovely to hear from you glad you enjoy the videos!!! You won’t be surprised to hear that you are not the first one to give me a ticking off about that!! Brain fade plus trying to show the fish to the camera my only excuses!!! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment cheers ian
Hi Ian, I have fished that Mark a few times. I was just wondering what rod rest you are using/recommend for 2 rods as I need to order one asap. Needs to be sturdy in the wind on the Bristol Channel. My last one blew over and broke.
Hi mate nice to hear from you again. I think it’s an IMAX surf lite …. Sorry it’s in the garage and it’s pissing down so I can’t be totally sure!😂😂 It’s great for the sandy beaches but needs a bit of care setting up on the rocky marks but they all do really. Cheers ian
Hi Lee lovely to hear from you! No you can do but it’s a long walk. There is a national trust car park just before you get to Woodspring Priory on the right. A path to the left of the car park takes you across 3 fields and you arrive at the mark that way. Probably ten minutes walk. Put the priory in your sat nav it’s easy. Thanks for watching cheers ian
Absolutely caked in mud!!! It’s not an easy venue and a snag a cast! I really don’t enjoy losing leads/gear! But the fish are there…. Nice they are up the BC should be a good winter for cod!! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment cheers ian
hiya ian and chris , good to see a few codling at the mod , i was going to fish there on saturday but chose shurton instead great fun , catch up with you both soon i hope . cheers ian stay safe chap
Lovely to hear from you Tony would be lovely to have a session with you soon!! Happy to come down Hinckley way you can show us how it’s done down there as we only fished it infrequently….. cheers ian
Hi Stephen yes nice to post a video of a different venue I’m glad you enjoyed watching it! The fish a definite bonus on a pretty slow session!! Thanks again for watching cheers ian
It's a nice place to fish. In my experience fishes best in poor weather. Of course I've fished there in excellent weather on a neap and as pleasant as it was the bites were absent but still a great mark to fish. Shame the Ministry doesn't clean it up though. 3 codling is a result for that mark. Well done and nice to hear Chris.
Cheers Paul it always seems to be a howling wind left to right whenever I fish it which makes the flood especially difficult. Three codling definitely better than usual!! Cheers ian 👍🎣
Looked like a lovely place to fish, if a little rocky. As another comment has said, it helped that you knew about the MOD snags, and where not to cast. Stay safe, and happy winter fishing.
Thanks I’m glad you enjoyed watching the video! Can be snaggy and muddy but productive too! Definitely a place to investigate at low water to get a feel of where to cast!! Happy fishing to you too! Cheers ian
2 codling are well worth the wait 🎣🎣. Well done.👏👏 Looks a really good mark,😄 despite what looked a long trek to get there.🫣 Nice to see a different venue, 👍but I'll never get sick of Chesil.😲🤯 Thanks for sharing your trip.👏👏 Much appreciated.👍👍 Take care and stay safe.😷🙊
Hi Ian yes it’s a nice mark… as you say 20 minutes from car park and a bit muddy but can throw up fish when the beaches don’t. Like you Chesil my personal favourite despite the car driving to get there. Planning my next trip as we speak!!! Thanks once again for watching cheers ian
@@ianclarkfishing Sadly I've never been able to fish it. ☹️😭But it feels like I'm there when you and other RU-vid channels share your adventures👏👏. For that I thank you all.👍👍 It allows me a mental respite from the stresses of life, 🤯which can only be good for my mental health.👍 Thanks again to you all.👼👼👼👼👼👼 Good luck on future sessions.🤞🙏 Take care and stay safe.😷🙊
So pleased myself and fellow you tubers are able to give you some entertainment!! Fishing is brilliant for mental health I’m sure…. Nothing on your mind except the total experience!!!! 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣👍👍
Thanks Gary it’s easy to get used to fishing the marks you are comfortable with so a change was nice! There seems to be a run of codling up the BC now so fingers crossed for plenty up to Xmas!!! Thanks again for watching cheers ian
Yeah bloody pesky things where’s a dogfish or strap to liven it all up??😂 good luck Tuesday Les…. That’s my looking after grandchild day!!! He’s only one but give it a few years and he will be out fishing!!!!! Cheers ian
