I purchased the 32 ton performance pro log splitter from Lowe's several years ago. Right after I Purchased the log splitter I received a letter from Briggs telling me of a recall on the engine, there were a LOT of people injured from the recoil kick back and the letter said NOT to use the splitter until this recall was done. SO, I took the log splitter to a local shop who said that all of the recall parts were on order. Mind you, before the recall work, the splitter would always start on the first pull and the speed of splitting was GREAT. After a 6 month wait, the parts were finally in and the work completed. Once home I TRIED to start the splitter with new gas in it only to have to pull numerous times and once started the splitter was leaking hydraulic fluid from all of the metal piping connections. SO, off it has gone NUMEROUS times to fix the numerous leaks and try to get the speed back up BUT it still leaks, after spending more on repairs than I had on the purchase I am about to dump it off of a cliff. It takes numerous pulls, sprays to start it, the speed is so slow even with new fluids and filter and the splitting power sucks. I have no recourse since it was out of warranty once the damned recall work was done. Would NEVER buy this king ever again!!!
We just bought one that looks like your splitter, just a different color, 1st time using it today, split about a cord. It will be shown for the 1st time in tomorrows video, powerful machine👍🏼🪵🇺🇸
Hi Evan - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. I've admired your splitters from the first of your videos viewed. While it appears to be from the same family of splitters available under a range of names, your's has the fastest cycle times I've observed. Factor in the ability to split vertically when required, then considering the price point it has to of the most impressive all round performers on the market. Perhaps it's all the stickers on it that gives it the edge on speed!
That dump trailer should have a pressure relief you can adjust on the pump. I have a 5x8 dump trailer that I use for dirt at the cemetery, ill load it to the top and it still dumps. Also had tall sides id put a full cord of wood in and itd dump no problem.
Well we didn’t really know how to use it that wel because it was our neighbors and he actually doesn’t use it that much either. But thanks for the tip for future reference!
Nice vid, Evan. As I mentioned before, that splitter moves. It’s all about the cycle time. Nice to get a cameo appearance from whom I believe is your, dad??? Take care, WST
Yep we love that our splitter is fast! Makes splitting way better! And yes that was my dad! He is starting to be ok Camera more and more! Thanks for watching!
Someone show them how to smash the wood until it falls apart.....they dont know the first thing about cross over splits, tearing wood, fracturing grain etc
@@kenweis2291 I was trying to find your channel with all this information, but found nothing. There are more constructive ways to talk to people. You should find one of those ways very quickly.
I like your new video you did a really good jop looking really nice buddy did you see me one on Midwest firewood buddy good jop on your video today buddy
Have the same exact one. I’ve noticed lately as I go to split a log, even if it’s tiny it makes a couple slight hesitations, gas is full hydraulic fluid is full engine oil is good… Any ideas?
HAY LIL- BROTHER NICE JOB... I REALLY DIG THE JAMS IN THE BEGINNIN OF THE VIDEO. PRETTY FAR - OUT!!! DO YOU SELL YOUR WOOD IN BULK, BY BAG OR IS JUST FOR YOUR OWN USE??? KEEP PUSHIN ON LIL - BROTHER... PEACE...
I sell in little 2 foot by three foot stacks and out of bags. I’m not selling in bulk yet but may start selling third of cords in the future! Thanks for watching man!
Same motor on my log splitter it won't start after 2 week and 4 Rick's of use I believe it's the shear pin on the fly wheel it rips the pull cord out of your hand and Attwoods has a No return on used power equipment so i have to fight with manufacturer
A center protrusion would make the operation better.....some manufacturers realized this and give a 2 inch protrusion in the center of base......what it does is not only grips the wood by biting into it but as the round is fractured it alows the force to tear the round apart rather than being flat...
I had to do a search for this splitter and found it wasnt sold anymore. At least not at Lowes. There were some horrible reviews on it. But seeing it here in action makes it hard to believe the reviews. This is a pretty beefy machine. I feel like all spitters will leak hydraulic fluid out of the connections at some point. No biggie at all.
Nope all we had to do was tighten it a little and it didn’t leak anymore. It may say they aren’t sold anymore Because according to Lowe’s they are seasonal. This splitter was the most beefy we could find and man it runs! Thanks for watching!
I second that. Most of the big box stores only sell things during certain seasons and then they will show out of stock until that season comes back around we almost missed buying the splitter because of that reason.
But I guarantee you the poulan and craftsman are a lot cheaper made box store saws. That’s why that Stihl is 20 years old and still running like brand new. If you like watch my videos to criticize me you can kindly take it somewhere else.
Dont believe the 32 ton....ive seen advertised tonage same strength as my 27 ton....also honda engine is much better.....you kids need to learn how to use the machine.....if you stop carving each piece off and just keep fracturing the round with 2 inch splitts while crossing over the previous lines you will see the round tears apart....throw the round and watch it fall apart
