I was there also that night and every Feat show played in DC. I thought this band was great and wondered given the time playing together would Lowell have kept playing solo , gone back to the Feat thing or do a Garcia deal with both bands. Unfortunately we’ll never know. I’m just glad to have witnessed the greatness that was Lowell George. RIP brother!

Thank you Earl Guthrie for posting this good quality recording of Lowell's last show. As a longtime fan and resident of the DC Metro area, I was fortunate to see many Feat shows at Lisner and Warner Theaters. I will never forgive myself for missing this show. Forrest George, your Dad was THE Best musician and composer of the wonderful era of my youth. Seven months later I turned 25, and was moving into true adulthood with responsibilities.

I still kick myself for not going. Was 17 and lifeguarding at Van Ness, thought about going that night, but then didn't. Thankfully saw Lowell in 77 at Warner and Lisner.

Saw the real Little Feat once at the Baltimore Civic Center in 1978. Had floor seats but tripping balls. My girl and I went up to the rafters to be alone and watch the spectacle from above somehow it all made better sense way up there that night the sound was so tight and of course the view of the crowd was outrageous!

I wonder why on earth no one has released official recordings from this tour. I have been a long-time fan of Little Feat and Lowell George but I must confess that I had no idea the shows on this tour were so solid.

I worked stage crew for Lowell in Providence a few days before he died. I was shocked but not surprised he died. I'll leave it at that. I had worked stage crew for Little Feat a couple of times before that. Such a loss.

🎸Lowell the slide guitar slinger genius, singer songwriter,been a feat fan for many years, they were so underrated, they were the real deal funk/blues/rock, they had it all,the real raw sound from scorching to mellow notes.Seen feat without Lowell when the front man not there it was missing to me, the spark any how the original feat they stood alone, with there sound sit back put on headphones and you were sucked into there music world, Lowell in turbocharge what a joy to watch and listen the emotion And passion he gave his fans they played as one, multitalented professional at a different level 🎸🎸🎸🎸

I just discovered this! This is sooo great, thank you! My band at the time did a bunch of Little Feat songs and the day after Lowell died, we had to play at a battle of the bands so to honor Lowell we played side 3 of Waiting for Columbus; Dixie, Tripe Face and Rocket in my pocket. We were so in shock from the news of Lowell’s death but musically inspired at the same time. Thank you, Lowell for the hours of enjoyment your music has brought to my life. Love you, Lowell.

Had tickets for the Richmond show when I got the news about Lowell's passing..... lost count of how many shows I saw throughout the 70"s. Would drive all night to get to see the band play. One night down at William and Mary Hall poor Dave Mason was practically shouted off the stage by rowdy Feat's faithful that were not at all willing to wait for the show they came to hear. Still my favorite band and Lowell was my rock and roll doctor hands down. Thanks for the post.

Forrest George, your mother was kind enough to let my mother, sister and I stay at your home in Topanga in 1982, to visit my aunt Inara who lived on your property. I think you and I are about the same age. Aside from all of that, I just wanted to say hello and that by influence of my aunt, as a kid in the 70's, I was listening to your father and the band and I still do over forty years later. I hope all is well for you and yours.

Yeah, my cousin Tristan and I were close as kids and we had some childhood adventures. I hope you and “Little” Inara and Liz are doing well. I really appreciate hearing back from you! Peace

This is not an 'Audience Recording', this is from the soundboard. George was notorious for recording his shows, editing them later (often the same night) and then passing on.

Nope. Audience recording. The only sources that have surfaced from this show are audience recordings. THIS is a SOUNDBOARD, and it is the only one that we have from the entire tour. Compare the 2 recordings, it is clear that this SOUNBOARD recording from Browns Mill, New Jersey is far superior. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WUrzy_5_lDI.html

donald walsh Apparently the other members had already cut enough tracks for "Down on the Farm" that they felt like that effort was wasted if the album didn't get finished and marketed. Kind of ironic how many "Little Feat" albums were made after Lowell George's death.

yeah and they all sucked without LOWELL..craig fuller on vocals ,god i had to see that creep open for so many national acts in Cincinnati when he was in Pure Prarie league. They were better when the Goshorn bros. got in the band.
@brucewehling8556
@brucewehling8556 5 лет назад
@@recordguy4321 I would beg to differ, just a bit. I knew Lowell and the band for years, saw many a show and was backstage. I was with Lowell till the wee-hours of the morning 10 days before his death when he played Bogarts on that fateful tour. We were actually almost completely locked-in when we finally came downstairs from the Green Room. haha I, too, am from Cincinnati originally, and I have known Larry and(dear departed) Timmy as a teenager, and on through Life. I agree that they, Pure Prairie League, were great sounding and creating with the Goshorn brothers. I must also pay tribute to Craig Fuller and his musical genius. "Amy" is still the standard, and that first album was so good that it launched that band into the national spotlight. Craig had left PPL, had done American Eagle for Warner Bros., and had befriended the Feat, and was THE natural replacement for Lowell! Some of the succeeding albums are some great music that I still LOVE to this day. Craig DID NOT replace Lowell, since Lowell was "one-of-a-kind". Craig was, in his own manner and musical direction, a great choice to take Lowell's place in the band, me thinks...
