I use the LowePro ProTactic 450 AW II. I love it. I also like to bring as much of my stuff with me as I can all the time because of my FOMO :)) and for my needs it's perfect. I fit in it a Nikon D500 + grip, a Tokina 11-20 f/2.8, a Sigma 18-35 f/1.8, a Nikkor 50 f/1.8 and a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 + 2 Godox V860II speedlites, a Nikon SB-700 + the Godox AK-R1 lightmodifiers kit in their original hardcase + radiotriggers and I still have room at the top for personal objects/some food, etc. And the side pockets are perfect for a Lenspen, Dust Blower thingy, lens cleaning towels, batteries. My only other lens that I have and doesn't fit is my Sigma 150-600 Sports, but that one comes with a nice thick padded case of it's own and with all the attachment points on the outside of the bag it's easy to attach even though I only do it when I'm sure I'm gonna use it because it makes for a very heavy load even without it with all the stuff I'm carrying. Sorry if I misspelled words I'm not native english speaker. I used a cheap chineese knock-off in the past (Fancier King Kong I30) and compared to thatthe ProTactic 450 is sublime.

I stumbled on to this video. I have both the Protactic 350 aw ii and 450 aw ii. Both are great bags. Reason I have both is for the size and the needs of that particular day. I do real estate shoots and have an agency that has me shoot their rentals besides their MLS sales (about 30-35 properties a month). 350 aw ii is my run and gun bag with A7iii -12-24mm g lens - Ad200 Flash - V860 godox speed light (x2) - Godox flash trigger - sony shutter remote - back up batteries - weebill s (out the outside - right) - monopod for flash (outside - center) - some other small misc stuff (tripod carried in hand). Perfect safe size. When I need more such as MLS shoots, I switch the 350 aw ii contents to my 450 aw II. The 450 aw ii usually has the mavic pro 2 (+2 extra batteries & controller)) , canon 17mm TSE - canon 90mm tse - metabones adapter - filters - and still have room for more. I do have ad600 in another case plus stand. 350 aw ii is perfect when I am doing 8 shoots in a day and want to travel light. I like the 2 bags because for the most part, they are set up just about the same which allows me to switch very quickly before running to shoots for the day. All the videos linked to my channel are the very quick video shoots for the rentals (about 900 or so i think). Run and gun

I had this for years , its a tough bag , i totally trust it , i own half a dozen bags , telephoto bags for 600mm, temba axis 32 , huge tough bag , others inc lowepro 200 telephoto bag the 350 has been awesome , for pro gear with big grips fits the camera with 70-200 pro lenses , and a 24-70. Not much else

There is a similar lowepro bag for hiking purpose mainly, it has more space for water, jacket, et al.

Thank you! I almost went with that bag but was worried about how much bigger the 450 would be than the 350.

Thanks Jeremy for this great video. Even after 2 years it really helped me in making a decision. I'll go for the 450...

re the negative of not being able to stand up longer lenses...in upgrading, most good bag companies will give a schematic with measurements... good pragmatic review, much appreciated straight up and down to business.

Inuse a manfrotto 3n1 36. Great for lots of gear. I think the protactic 450 is very similar and is the next bag I want to get.

Get the 450, you'll love it. I got two bodies inside, 150-600mm, 105 macro, 16-35mm, 50mm, 24mm ..

Which bag did you find with similar gear-space but also some space for a small jacket, food etc?
@babahimachali

Honest review, I liked it. This bag is basically for amateurs, not pro cameras. You can’t fit in camera body with battery grip.

Thank you! Absolutely agree. It's not for larger cameras and lenses. Thanks for watching!

Did you not check the specs on this in regard to the size of your lenses before you purchased the bag?

My personal thoughts are that this bag suits a mirror less setup perfectly - for full frame I think the 450 is probably more the go.

I’m getting it second hand and I’m only into photography as a hobby. I have two kits (a Nikon d800 with sigma 70-300mm and d3200 with kit lens 18-55 mm and tamron 18-270 mm) I think this bag is perfect if I wanna bring the d3200 with kit lens 18-55mm because it has a macro mode and takes really sharp pictures for an entry level camera. And the d800 with sigma 70-300mm 2-1 macro. Those two camera and the d800 power pack and that’s all I need as a hobbiest. Thanks for the video

2:20 don't you have to take off a traditional front opening bag to access your gear?

Thank you! That's a good idea too. But the bag I went with is huge and has enough space for everything I need and then some.

So you said you went to the 450 AW. How do you like it with camera bodies and the drone? I’m having the same issues with the addition of GoPros. I’d also like to use it as a travel bag at the same time, as you mentioned there doesn’t seem to be much additional space.

Thanks for watching! I love the 450 AW. It is HUGE compared to the 350 but it has all the space I need an more for jackets/snacks/whatever. I always have fomo so I enjoy being able to carry all my gear. Plus, it's comfortable.

Can someone please measure the laptop compartment depth? I have a slightly larger notebook that exceeds the "nominal" dimensions stated by Lowepro and I'm not sure whether it will fit. Thanks

I appreciate your review. But maybe you should have opted for the 450. It’s not the bags fault all your gear doesn’t fit. You just need a larger bag.

@OsmanParvez
@OsmanParvez 3 года назад
@@thecasualphotographer Comparing Whistler with the Protactic 450 models, it looks like the Whistler is a bit larger than the Protactic. The Whistler also seems better suited to the outdoors. The downside of the Whistler is that it's slightly heavier and at 60cm, it's too long to fit in the overhead compartment of most airlines (most are limited to 55cm). The Protactic shouldn't be a problem to get onboard most airlines - at least here in the US - and it has a rain cover. Thanks for the video, by the way. It helped me make a decision. Post more!
