High cholesterol can increase the risk of heart disease and other health issues. But you don’t need to fear because one way to combat cholesterol is by following a balanced diet with cholesterol-lowering ingredients. Today, I am going to give you a recipe that not only tastes and looks great but also helps in reducing cholesterol. So, let’s get ready to discover the incredible benefits of Butterfly Pea Flower Tea!
In this recipe, we'll be using the beautiful Butterfly pea flower which has an equally beautiful name -Aparajita - in Hindi. If you see this flower, it has a stunning blue colour. Not only this, it also offers a range of health benefits.
Along with this flower, we'll need one glass of water, a 1-inch cinnamon stick, a 1-inch piece of ginger, a lemon, and one teaspoon of raw chia seeds.
Follow these simple steps:
Soak one teaspoon of raw chia seeds in water for at least 20 minutes. This will allow the chia seeds to absorb water and become gelatinous, giving our drink a wonderful texture.
In a pot, add one glass of water.
Drop in a Butterfly pea flower, along with a 1-inch cinnamon stick and a 1-inch piece of ginger. These ingredients not only enhance the flavor but also contribute to the cholesterol-burning properties of this drink.
Bring the water to a boil and let it simmer for about 5 to 6 minutes. This simmering allows the flavors of the flower, cinnamon, and ginger to infuse into the tea, creating a rich and aromatic base.
After simmering, turn off the heat and let the tea cool for around 15 minutes. This allows the flavors to develop further.
Once cooled, strain the tea to remove the Butterfly pea flower, cinnamon stick, and ginger, leaving behind a vibrant blue liquid that forms the foundation of our drink.
Squeeze the juice of a lemon into the strained tea. Lemon not only adds a refreshing citrusy flavor but also provides a boost of vitamin C.
Finally, add the soaked chia seeds to the tea and give it a good stir.
Your cholesterol-burning Butterfly Pea Flower Tea is now ready to drink.
Now that we have our delicious tea ready, let's talk about the benefits of the ingredients involved.
Butterfly pea flowers contain anthocyanins, powerful antioxidants known for their heart-protective properties. These antioxidants help in combating oxidative stress and reducing the risk of heart disease.
Cinnamon has been shown to have cholesterol-lowering effects. It helps reduce total cholesterol, LDL or bad cholesterol, and triglyceride levels.
Ginger, known for its spicy and warming flavor, offers various health benefits. It has anti-inflammatory properties and contributes to heart health by lowering cholesterol and blood pressure levels.
Chia seeds, rich in omega-3 fatty acids and fiber, have been shown to reduce inflammation and support heart health, while fiber aids in reducing cholesterol absorption in the body.

Namaste, Chia seeds are tiny but extremely nutritious. Just 2 tablespoons (30 grams) contain 10 grams of fibre, 5 grams of protein, and 138 calories. It can add chia seeds to baked goods, drinks like smoothies, and other recipes to add extra nutrients to your diet.

Namaste Mam I’m 21 years old. I have been suffering from irregular periods. Pehle ton mujhe 5 months period bilkul bhi nhi aaye. @@kidsfuntime4506 yes i visited for ultrasound as well but my reports was normal there’s nothing bad even in my blood report everything was good, just my haemoglobin was low…. But I’m bleeding from last 7 months everyday. Some days flaw is really heavy some days low. I really wanna stop bleeding because from last 8 months there’s not even a single day when I don’t have any bleeding
