Here is a great video of a real client of ours who had found the lunge created many issues and problems in his body. His excessive lordosis type posture coupled with severly tight hips and quads meant getting in this position almost impossible
The video on the left was the earlier version and where he just could not get it right
Without load he is fine, just when we added the weight he lost his form straight away
And as a result suffered from severe SIJ back pain!
After a rigorous postural correction program to address his lower cross syndrome and enldess hours of teaching him the correct movement using this excellent app we are now able to get him closer to making the lunge look and feel like it is supposed to.
For the first time he is actually feeling his glute muscles do something as opposed to his quads trying to dominate every moivement
