Jesse you bought the wrong the diverter valve you need the revision g the earlier spec it’s a lot more durable and holds boost better than the new revisions and when tuning the one you bought is very weak and won’t hold boost as well you will have to change it again when you come to tune it

@@JesseCollingham aks tuning, wot motorsport and awesome sell them. I would also recommend ngk bkr7iex spark plugs they come pre gapped but make sure they all are the same spec also r8 red top coil packs and a power flex or Whiteline anti lift kit and a subframe bush and dog bone link bush

Why not run a twin piston atmospheric valve? Like collins/motorsport developments/pro perfekt or the dv26 evo baileys valve? I ran one on my 1.8t VRS no problems. Run one on my current car again maf based.

The colder heat range plugs are ment for significantly higher boost levels. and the iridium tipped plugs i wouldn’t trust as far as i can throw them. Stick to standard heat range plugs unless your running alot of power.

My collins bov sounds like a whip cracking fully dumping and i get all the flutter in the world when letting off the throttle slowly to do a part release.

Common sense says do all 4 discs and pads while it's up in the air 🤔 Leaking shocks and scored discs ,was Stevie wonder the MOTer last time around for a no advisory ticket 😀

Def next job is change pads and discs all round, rear discs looked badly scored. Golf looks great lowered.👍👏✌️🤛

I've just bought a mk5 gti myself got big plans for a stripped out track animal, the diverter valves normally split the diaphragm when they are faulty. As for the R32 pipe I'm in north Manchester and use a company called T&C silencers in Rochdale they will make you one they keep tailpipes in and they are so cheap it's who I use to do R32 tips on the caddy vans

I reckon staggered spacers will do the job, 10 mil on the front and 15 mil on the back. also another common failure with these engines is premature chain tensioner failure, if this fails your chain will slip and your pistons will bend the valves leaving you with an engine rebuild bill, get it sorted for peace of mind

Unrelated to the video and you might already know this but make sure you top up the oil every couple hundred miles mate. The TFSI engine is a proper oil slag and will almost literally drink itself to death if you don't keep an eye on it. Losing up to 1 litre every 600 miles is healthy 👍

Jesse, engine sounds fine. ignore the people saying it is sounding too tappy, they don't know what theyre talking about. Its typical GDI injector noise and microphone will pick it up worse than it really is. If you are worried/want peace of mind, get someone with VCDS to check the cam chain tolerance, if its 0-2 degrees it is running fine.

probably should've checked if ur rear control arm accentric bolts move cause they're common to seize on vw's specially at that age. thats if ur gettting it tracked anyway

Don't forget to have it aligned properly now it's a bit lower! 👍 Guessing you're not keeping the standard wheels, but if you do, or get wheels the same width, best spacers to run are H&R 14mm rear 12mm front, don't rub and fill the arches perfect

Don't forget coil packs 😂 then again iv only been through 1 coil pack in 16 months ownership , I think thats quite reasonable

Standard discs and an uprated pad is usually the best way to go for a standard car.

Noticed your engine is tapping louder than it should be I would say your cam chain and tensioner needs replacing and oil sump clean and replacement pick up pipe as well

@@jamessibthorp4712 it’s ok but it’s not fine I have owned 2 and both had this noise once I replaced the cam chain and tensioner it idled silently with a low sounding tap tap from the injectors the noise you here in the video is a lot louder and the chain has probably slightly stretched due to age and mileage and with it being I think close to 100k miles it’s definitely due soon

@@jamessibthorp4712 Yh a few people I know with these engines in the forums etc have said the same as you before, which your right, it’s just from my experience of owning a bwa and a current axx with a cdl head once that work was done engine hood or down the sound is quiet and you hear the engine hum with just the tapping of the injectors, so I would recommend he gets it done before he starts tuning over stg 2 if he does go that far

Why don't you get the rear bumper for the mk5gti version, still the r32 look with the hole for the gti,,,, be different looks the same but hole at the side ,,,, keep up the good work ,,
