Gosh i always tought you were supposed to score on your own basket! I always wondered why NBA players never scored on their own basket. Now i see you are supposed to score on the enemy’s basket, thank you sir for this incredible unknown knowledge
As a coach of 5th to 10th grade, I can confirm that this is bullshit. I would never bench a player for these mistakes, I will bench a guy for sure if he doesn't play D or not giving 100% effort. Kids/Teens shouldn't be benched after they are doing something that obviously done by accident and they feel bad with themselves. Benching them will make them lose more confident.
Idk about that. You must be an AAU coach because if you put the rest of the team at risk because of a mistake you could be costing people scholarships and stuff. There is always time to work on mistakes during practice.
@@UnderInternetNew you must be the type to argue/debate everything. There was nothing wrong about what he said. Sometimes you gotta be able to recognize that and keep it moving.
What I think about modified through jv is that it gives kids the perks of sports (bonding and athletics) while not requiring to be the greatest player. It gives them valuable experiences and often friendships Thank you for volunteering your time
You can attempt it but if the opposing player is close enough you can throw it off their feet so it’s out of bounds on them (just be ready to throw hands too💀)
My comedic moment was after a made freethrow I aggressively got the ball for the inbound then realised that it was the opponent’s ball😅 opposing players were looking at me stunned!😂
The 2nd one should not be in this video, like no shit. Also the first one is only relevant in certain situations. Basketball is a game of tempo and timing. Getting that pass off the off-ball screen delivered perfectly, you better take the shot as you get it, as the timing is fluid and gives a great shot oppo. If you take a step back just to get a 3 you are ruining an opportunity, either be by screwing with your timing, or allowing a defender time to cover you. The last one is a good tip though
Hear me out… when I was 6 I was new to basketball and my team and the other team were all crowded at the basket and I wasn’t really paying attention so I thought they were just trying to pick it up and bring it to the other side so I got it and ran to the other side and shot like a perfect jump shot but it was for the other team
It isn't Steph lol. One step back is not giving you a 50% increase in your percentage, which is what you get by shooting a three versus a two. Basic math that predates Curry
Ngl foot on the three deep midrange shots are so pretty and just wreak of confidence. Even though they're terrible shots, I love to see them. Especially late in games when you just need a 2
I remember this time when the whole basketball team was yelling at this one person ' wrong basket ' he did not listen and kept fighting to get the ball up there, when he did you came over to the coach for a high five. Let’s just say, the guy got benched. 🤣
He means when on defense, it you are falling while saving the ball throw it far away form the other players to the other side and liel the comment above me said it would be like a fast break.
Bro that embrassment when i shot on the wrong basket was crazy . Everyone was shouting behind me i thought they were expecting me to miss but they were shouting so i dont score on my own damn basket
once i was the only person to go the RIGHT direction off the tip 😭 i was standing there absolutely BAFFLED as to why my whole team was on the wrong side of the court
I remember having a teammate shoot on the wrong basket in 6th grade and they kept missing so we ran over and blocked our own teammate and took the ball from him
Dude last year my freshman team was up by like 10 so my coach put the 3rd strings in, me included, and we were all just hyped to be playing, so we didn’t realize we had gone to the wrong side of the court. The other team’s point guard inbounded the ball and put it straight in without any of us being in the same side of half court. It wasn’t even 15 seconds later we were all back on the bench 😂
So relatable, it is so easy for me to confuse two baskets when i panic during the game, which is every single moment of the game, and i tend to run up to my basket, shoot the ball and then wondering why no one were blocking me, everyone says i am fucking degenarete, but im not arguing against that, i try to accept their opinion humbly by holding myself from attacking them, but then i go home and cry like i used to my entire life after every basketball game, i detest that game, sucking at it so much makes me realise how miserable and pathetic i am compared to my classmates, i either gonna kill myself, or learn how to play that game decently well
Only the second one is low IQ tbh. It’s high IQ to throw the ball across the court to put it under your basket and it’s a bit higher IQ to make sure you’re behind the three point line. But if a coach actually takes you out of the game for taking and making any good shot they need to be replaced immediately 💀
Deadass in our 3rd place game the 2nd seeded team got the tip and TWO of them went to go for the wide open layup... on their own basket. We blew them out by 22
Anytime I get an open 3 in gym runs that I can drive, I take an intentional dribble step past the 3pt line and shoot the middy. I easily could shoot 3's instead, but the one dribble step up makes my shot so in rhythm and consistent. Am I getting benched if I do this in game?
It’s just a dumb shot to take if your foot is one step in front of the 3 point line. Cause it’s the longest “2 point shot you can make”. He’s not saying midrange is bad shots he saying the one foot inside the 3 line or the foot on the line
Moral of the short: make sure the ball is in the opponent’s territory. Please pay attention and ask which basket belongs to who. Even if your teammates give you slack for it it’s better than looking dumb in front of potential college coaches.
Dominique did something foolish like that in an all star game. The ball was going out of bounds off the west, but Nique being Nique goes for the unnecessary save and of course he was out of bounds
when i was in highschool, i shot the ball into the opponents ring. since then ive never play again basketball til i work now i get back into my beloved sport. but now its too late 😅 too many kids are too good its hard to catch up
The own goal tip in happens. As long as it’s accidental tip and not a straight put back ya get a pass imo. The most embarrassing is gettin an offensive rb and thinking it was a defensive rb so you starting running the wrong way down the court 😂.
The opposite team is shooting a free throw and when they miss my teammate gets the board puts it up on there basket he celebrated but then we told he got so embarrassed
one of my Teammates scored on the wrong hoop, right after halftime after the coach said we need to lock in. and even a 3 pointer, his only one in the season
