Geez it wasn't even near THAT bad. DWTS is not a real dance competition it's about putting on a preformance that makes the fans happy. If your fans vote for you, you deserve to be on the show like Bristol Palin. Yes, you try to avoid such situations by not letting superstars like Taylor Swift on the show and she would love to be on. But when it happens just go with it.
Elana Marie The pro is actually very good, but she can only work as well as the partner that she has, and all the scores are based around the celebrity dancer. She has the choreograph the dance around his skills, so if he isn't that good, there's only so much she can do to look good.
Len Goodman is a good, harsh judge. These guys don't offer any help whatsoever or any actual criticism besides "you suck". Not only that but they just blame it on him completely. Completely rude.
I think Strictly in the UK is a good balance between DWTS US and DWTS Australia. The critiques are honest and sometimes harsh, but never downright cruel like here.
dinkaDPB How the fuck did HE keep other dancers out? Did he directly keep them out? No, pretty sure his fans did, and you can't blame him for that. In the end, it's a fucking show about famous people dancing with pro dancers. Their fans of course have big power depending on the size of the fan bases. Is it unfair? Yes. But that's the way. the. fucking. show. was. made. You can't blame the "star" for that. And they said it was his confidence that kept him from being able to dance; some people just aren't confident enough to jump into something like this. The show could have removed him if he was a real issue. He didn't not care, he didn't take anything seriously; that's a coping mechanism usually for people who lack confidence. It's quite sad they took advantage of his optimism and lack of confidence, and that assholes like you actually blame him for such things. Face the music, they could have been bluntly honest or even rough in their teasing. This wasn't that. This was them being utter twats.
Also, you do realize that people on Big Brother are very much influenced by the producers/told to play exaggerated characters/make as much conflict as possible, right? What you saw there was an actor acting...what a concept
Those judges were straight up bullies. He's just doing his best and they were so incredibly mean to him. That's not acceptable behavior and they could seriously hurt his feelings...
If you're on a show like this you expect to be judged, if his feelings are hurt over something that he probably knows he's no good at, then he really needs to grow some thicker skin. They did seem a bit harsh but honestly I have to agree with them.
Charity Yeah he sucked, and he deserved to be hammered. But they were making personal insults instead of actual criticisms about his dancing. It's not constructive, it's just being an ass. Horrible judges.
Anne And what are you insinuating? I have nothing wrong with criticism, what I dislike are personal attacks. There's a difference. If you can't tell the difference, that's your shortcoming.
The worst part was they never hashed out all the things he should've worked on. They just told him he was terrible and made him feel like shit. Completely unprofessional and distasteful. Plus as bad as he was 1s are just ridiculous. He did do better than a one.
Unprofessional? These judges are world class dancers. They know what they are talking about. Disrespectful? They will know this guy over a long period so they would have previously warned him of his weaknesses. If he didnt listen to their advice or doesnt care then of course he will be unpopular.
dinkaDPB They were straight up harassing him. I don't care if those judges were the best dancers in the Australia, that wasn't warranted. Yeah the dance sucked, but they could've been a lot gentler.
dinkaDPB How can you condone this? I don't give a flying rat's arse if they're the best dancers in the world, these judges are twats. There is a difference between being honest/joking with someone and going out of your way to be ignorant little fucks. If they hadn't been on film for others to see, I bet they would have been truly brutal. I give him credit for taking it so well, he's the true winner for that. It was said his confidence is what screwed him up and for a non-dancer that's not an easy fix, yet he was actually shamed and humiliated by these arrogant bastards and that's not acceptable. They had a vendetta because he's so optimistic; everything that went wrong he took light-heartedly and they mistook that for not caring. That's how unconfident people coupe with their lack of self-worth sometimes; making everything a joke. Excusing arrogant assholes for their shit is giving them a free pass to keep others confidence as low as possible. I hope he never thinks about this now as it can be quite mentally damaging to fuck with someone like this in front of so many people because you feel entitled to.
dinkaDPB and yes, unprofessional is indeed, only going out of your way to be ignorant and focusing on purposely humiliating a contestant, rather than offering true constructive criticism and innocent teasing. If they had been joking like mad but still joking, that would be one thing. I don't even mind the score, that seemed like a group plan to jokingly give the lowest score to prove a point. That's teasing they knew he could take. I don't approve of them going out of their way to consistently bash him personally ( yes, it was bad, no, I don't give a fuck if he came out and attempted one spin and fell ). He was embarrassed to the point of looking like he wanted to bolt yet still handled it well. And so they didn't stop, like the arrogant twats they are. If they were just being honest, they wouldn't have told the pro she was great; she was terrible for a "pro". No, they had a vendetta and were harassing him.
the US is much less critical....the judges not only acknowledge the dance but the performance. these judges are rude. they aren't giving any constructive criticism. ...they're just being bullies
They told him to double the amount of time in training if he wants to compete. This is one of the later episodes so he has had plenty of advice and a professional dancer to learn from. Some people just arent good at dancing and its no good lying to them giving them a false reality.
Wow, if this were on the US version of DWTS, that dance would have easily gotten 5s at least. I've seen much worse dances than this on DWTS. Anyway, the judges were being major assholes. It was borderline bullying and harassment. Look, it was a pretty weak dance, and yes, he deserved some criticism for it. BUT...you can be polite and constructive with it. You do not have to purposely be an ass about it, and be so mean to someone as to basically embarrass them and tear them down on live TV in front of millions of people for the sake of ratings. It really is just plain cruel. Good for him for keeping a positive attitude and refusing to let their horrific behavior break him down. He may not get far with dancing, but a positive attitude like that will help him succeed in many other, more important ways in life than a silly dance show.
+V Cabrera (smarticle168) ...Not harsh, truthful!! In the US,people pamper the egos of celebrity's " Oh you're great, fantastic " when they're not!!! These stars get so used to being treated like a God,that when they vist the UK or interviewed by a Brit, they almost go into shock...
I agree. Have any of you watched season 22 with Mischa Barton? Also Bill Nye, Chaka Khan and any other of the older celebrities u can think of. They were more horrible than this dance.
That deserved at least a 4 or 5. I mean for me, a 1 would be if he just came out and stood there, not moving at all, or just swaying to the music. He isn't a good dancer, but he at least tried! These judges are completely horrible! I just cannot get over it!
I know right! He deserved some points for his efforts. And I seriously don't know how these judges didn't get any trouble for being SO rude and mean wtf! What a Shame.
I know there was this woman on strictly come dancing and she was absolutely terrible and she got a better score than him and the judges were mean but they were still being perfessional the judges were just being disrespectful and rude
These judges must be jealous of him. He's still human. And personally I thought he did exactly what the choreography allowed. It must be personal. How unprofessional. And it says a lot about this guys character how he stood there and took all those disgusting comments with a smile!!
the american judges just kiss ass and fall for sob stories. These judges are top drawer. In fact the US version has to use foreign judges because the US is s***
They shouldn't judge. They're just being rude, They're not even helping him, and say what he could've done better. It looks like they just want to be cool, like srsly.
kiwilower That was a train wreck. What could he have done better??? Everything. I didn't see anything close to dancing. He was walking, standing, posing. His partner was doing all the work, not even a lift.
Dosen't mean they have to be rude. He haven't done anything bad to them. He probably did this to have fun and try something new. I could tell that he was sad even though he smiled.
the judges' comments were demeaning, pointless, and just plain mean. Good judge's would give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. They were just bullying him. Props to him for smiling all the way through
the celebrities arent meant to be experienced/professional dancers. If you watched the latest series i bet you would be nowhere near as good as the dancers. Even if you were good your attitude sucks
nkkcole tbh, for me, it really depends how the judges act. In the US, they're easier to please, and they're more constructive. They acted completely unprofessional in this clip, and that really makes me dislike how they do the show.
why the fuck are they talking to him like he should be or know better! he is on the show BECAUSE HES NOT A DANCER for fuck sake if he cant do any better than he cant, and it really wasnt very bad at all.
even though this wasnt that good, ive seen worse on dwts. i think this deserved at least 5's. i actually feel bad for him. it looked like he was about to cry.
This was awful I felt so bad for him. At least give someone points for trying and give them helpful criticism it's not fair that he literally got all 1's. Those judges were the rudest people I've ever seen why are they even on a tv show that is meant to help people grow? They literally tore down his confidence
Is he a villified celeb in general? Who is he? Did he kill someone or something? He just hasn't got rhythm. He seems to be trying. She wasn't great either tbh.
He's just doing what the choreography allowed him to do. Personally, I would blame the coach. She's obviously not good enough to train a beginner. He's putting in the time and effort, she just isn't working around his strengths. The judges should have given him helpful criticism instead of just saying it was painfully awful. I'm not saying it wasn't bad, but for a person whose never danced before, it was okay. The U.S. DWTS is much more understanding, and they give critiques.
What people are failing to realise is that when this aired in Australia way back when, there were heaps of talented dancers that were eliminated before him. As a person watching from home, it was frustrating to see this. I thought that it was a breath of fresh air the judges ripping into him and a relief when he was finally eliminated.
the judges were harsh! i mean dont get me wrong the guy was really stiff and he just needed to relax a little and just let loose. The choreographer or the pro dancer did not help at all.
He definitely did not deserve a lower score than that one rapper on the American version who always wore sneakers and generally just kind of shuffled around on the dance floor like he wasn't even trying. I get that the judges didn't want to keep him over more talented dancers, but that's excessive. Pretty terrible choreography, though. Someone failed him very badly there.
I had to look it up, but his name was Master P. He was truly horrendous. The judges finally had to give him these super low scores just to get him off the show because he was popular enough with the viewers to survive, but the man just *could not dance*
I have seen MUCH worse on the US version. At least these judges have a good sense of humor and are not to scared to be honest with the "star" The US judges feel the need to stroke the egos of their partners.
Plastic Bag What in the world are you talking about? I simply stated that the judges do not coddle the performers as they do in the states, you went all SJW. You nitpicked 2 sentences and turned it into some "nationality" BS. I stated my opinion, you came moping along with nothing better to do than be dramatic. The mess you wrote up there makes no sense, It isn't important but you had to go there. Typical tween.
Plastic Bag After your first sentence I could not read it further. Your up in arms over a bunch of BS. Get over yourself. And that is a personal opinion, not an "attack". If something as small as my pointing out the difference in the two countries shows bothers you to the point where you need to write a snarky response, you need help.
Plastic Bag You can not let it go, you keep coming back here like a gnat. If you NEED the last word that bad, by all means have it. You dig drama, and it is super unhealthy.
this is one of the saddest thing ever. at the beginning they were so excited and confident but after their performance, they were so upset. this is so sad.
I would accept their criticism--BUT ONLY if he's a professional dancer. Knowing he's not that good, they shouldn't have expected his performance to be that good.
Yeah, their dance was bad and it was kinda pretty much crap but... I mean, really? That was just mean! Sure he did bad but don't be making such harsh comments like that.
This doesn't even seem like a legit Dancing with the Stars. Like they were trying to be legit but it didn't work out. This dude is actually better than some who have been on the American DWTS.
Well this is Australia and we give them what they deserve. Also this guy is only famous for walking round naked on big brother so no one cared about this
+Claire Garment If this performance is a 1 point per judge (assuming 1 is the minimum) what would just standing there be worth? Even if 0 is an option, this performance compared to standing is a bigger jump than 1 to 0 so no they did not get what they deserved!!!!
They were so rude. He wasn’t even that bad, but they were just tearing him down. They weren’t even being encouraging but just rude, like they wanted to get to him.
Wow all of these judges are Len Goodman doubled! Like I thought Len was bad! This.... This was insane. They weren't that bad! I didn't even know they had 1 paddles 😂
Len isn’t harsh at all 😂 we had him in the UK for years alongside Craig Revel Horwood- baffles me when Americans say Len is harsh- wonder what they’d make of Craig?
Every time I watch this video I cannot believe it. That dance was not so bad that it deserved anything lower than four 4's. Those judges are awful and should not have been left to continue judging after this season (or episode).
Their dances where just too basic. Like it didn't show off any of the moves that would prove them to be better then the other dancers. It didn't have much movement at all and the choreography was just very beginner level. Like anyone could learn and complete the dance, which wouldn't make for a bad show in itself. Just not what these judges are looking for..
For all the people saying the choreography didn't let him do anything: the choreography was deliberately designed for him. A more complicated dance would've been worse.
+ValeriaEntertainment There have been way worse in the U.S. Aussies are made of tough stuff. If this had scored lower than fives in the U.S. someone would have cried. In all honesty, it was like a four or five. On DWTS U.S., it may have gotten as high as sixes.
And Americans think Len is harsh. ...And the Brits think CRAIG REVEL HORWOOD is harsh. Dear Arceus, I bet you even he’d be in shock by how harsh the comments were.
Wow that was just cruel. That guy is good just for keeping a smile. I don't know much about his back story, but they seem to hate him. It wasn't THAT bad sheesh. There's been worse dances on the show here in America...
the judges don't deserve to judge in dwts. they should have been considerate in giving scores since not all STARS are good dancers and they should appreciate the STARS' effort learning every dance routine.
Dannes Canencia That was bad even for a NON Dancer. IF he's in a dance competition and can't dance he needs to work his rear off so he looks like he belongs. In the US, the current season had several non dancers. Look up Roger Herjavec The guy is a paper pusher, upper management in a business. Can't dance compare his Paso Doble to this guy.
***** Robert not Roger :) and he owns his own jet so paper pusher isn't quite an accurate description of him but I guess he's corporate so that's what you meant. But yea he's a better dancer than this guy. Chris the other contestant in dwts US is also better and he's worse than Robert. But these judges were mean!
Um..you can't judge Australia's dancers just from these too. I'm from Australia and I agree these two weren't good, but please don't say stupid things like this. Cheers
So everyone is saying it wasn't that bad but it is.... They are judging based on the paso. That was NOT a paso.. there was may one paso move? The pro wasn't very good either so yes they did deserve their scores. The judges were very rude about it and they should have been more constructive in their criticism.
